Great overview, RM an excellent job with this radio and I look forward to whenever mine with ELRS comes in. The _only_ issue with it is the battery life. The external battery expansion feature means they knew that, so that helps a bit.

Owen the owner is super friendly. Messages me all the time. For a ceo that’s great. He’s engaging with us. But more over I thought… man…. Radiomaster seems to be dominating. They came out fresh and untrusted by many. They even had a company copy their name! “RadioKing”. 😂 They have brought us so much innovation. Seems like they took the Jumper ethos and just went the extra miles. And they also managed to break me of my all time favorite radios from Frsky. That is incredible. So yeah. They are doing really really well in the industry.
Great review as it really peaked my interest. I've been flying the X9D+ since day one and have always felt it a little bulky for my liking. Just may have to jump on one of these soon. Thanks Justin 👊🏻
You’re welcome. Just for the record I also flew multiple X9Ds as my daily forever. Loved those. But big yeah I agree. The X-lite came along and I hated the skinny sticks. Radiomaster seems to have learned from the past. And added new innovations for this design. It will be really hard to beat this radio in 2022.

I picked it for my starter kit thanks to this review, got it…crashed my drone enough to download a sim and after some practice it seems like it’s the exact right controller for how I ended up holding it during flight. I feel like I wouldn’t even like those “big box” controllers 😝 well at some point today I’m going to do my first RL flight since winning the tiny woop go game.
They are over $200 in Australia.. exchange rate makes it about $120- but even at $200 after working out just how great it is it is so sick. Using a R88 receiver atm. one for Drone, Boat, Car and Plane. Just plonk the receiver in each and change mode when I want with +1km range
I ordered the Vapcell F14 Button Top 1400mah batteries, should get me almost 3hrs flight time with ELRS in 250mw. Much longer I'm sure with the other 4-in-1 or etc.
Make sure you buy the batteries with it, they do not ship them separately and can be hard to find because they are 18350's. Really like mine so far. It is smaller than a full-size controller but somewhat larger and beefier than a game-type controller. Feels good in my hands, ergonomic. Put all my non-hd aircraft on this one controller. Really nice. Somewhat hard to choose as their are multiple models. I got the 4-in-1 as I don't fly long range at all, most of my receivers are FrSky compatible. Now, all my switches and the like are set up basically the same for every aircraft.
Radiomaster is killing it with their innovative designs and style, I love my Radiomaster tx 16 pro, but I wish it wasn’t so big in my hands. I’m now definitely looking at this little beauty, it has all the features that I’m looking for in a small game style controller, now it’s just a matter of choosing which one, the one with the crossfire in it or that new express lrs protocol, I like the idea of long range capabilities and reasonably cheap receivers, oh decisions decisions lol.
Great video! Wish i had held out a couple more weeks. Have you tried the dual momentary switch arming that Albert Kim and JB have explained in their videos with the jumper t pro? Annoying that it has to be programmed but very safe way to arm and disarm
BB, Hahah no man I haven’t tried it. Honestly it has been sitting there since the zorro came in. I stand firm saying that I think the arm buttons are dangerous. I think people should by pass them all together. They will cause a F up.
I just got mine today with the 4 in 1 mod, and I have the T pro. The Zorro wins hands down for me. The Iflight commando is lacking buttons which was a no go for me anyway. The Zorro is the way to go IMHO. And yeah, the charge is really fast ! I like it a lot ! Thanks Justin... ;-)
My thought is Radiomaster is heading for top tier lvl. even though some say they just copy the design from jumper t16 -> Radiomaster tx16s, Jumper t-lite -> Radiomaster Zorro. Radiomaster are listning to theire users and they go do the little extra part on theire transmitters. No wonder the radiomaster series are a perfect choice for pilots, i even use mine for cars,boats,lawnmower yes fpv too. get a basic version and upgrade it to pro metal version over time, its great! Now the zorro, huge score with the switches, hate the button style. a good size screen with foldable antenna + expansion. The extra mount sockets are a huge score! in future i think we will see some side grips hmm maybe leather like on oure tx 16s would be sexy :) beeing able to use the 5000mah pack is AWESOME! also im guesing were gonna get some ag01 CNC gimbles cough cough ;) im happy that they didnt go with the 6 button switcher below the screen. This will be a great first timer or a great backup im wondering if there will be a v2 like Zorro S/Max with 18650, metal roller and buttons... we need that XD BUT the scroller wheel in that spot hmm dunno i didnt like it but its ok. i much rather have pot knubs on the top, the huge killer was the internal battery type. but still awesome transmitter for the money!
You hit the nail on the head. So many good points. The expandable antenna. Larger screen, price point, quality for what you pay. I do wish the internal batts were full-size . And yes this will be a big seller you can guarantee there will be a pro $150-200 version. Radiomaster is dominating.

Radiomaster has released full cases/shells for the tx16 sooo my tinkering brain says they will release carbon shell,switches, huge amount of spare parts enough to build youre own in the future so why not for zorro max or s (just thinking). even if they battery was a flop. i want one just to tear it up and tinker with it. just like i did with the tx16s. the jumpers and the DJI FPV drone transmitter(mode 4 success :) ) edit: i ordered one, couldnt resist tinkering on it
Funny that Turnigy Evolution did those white or black gamer style remotes years ago. Flysky was bad with drop outs though. I changed to QX7, then jumper T-lite, now waiting for my last remote, the Zorro. Late arrival Xmas present to me, from me. Haha
Xlite Pro still has the best gimbals tho. Screen isn't as good and you have to use an external ELRS module, but I couldn't go back from the Xlite Pro gimbals

Seems better than T-Pro, especially the switches. But I do wonder about the large screen though, if it's relocated below the power button (between the 2 grips) it will be just like any other controller.
I want to order this zorro from your link but the Bagood site says they won’t or can’t send the the 2 batteries to my region (Canada) but they can send the transmitter…..but I need the batteries.
Although I'd prefer the Zorro to my full fat 4 IN 1 T-LITE as my crappy eyes would definitely prefer that screen, I'll probably continue with the jumper for the foreseeable future as I already own it.
I got the jr bay module adaptor for $9 . It clips into the nano clip . I using my r9m and crsf micro modules on the t- pro . Plus zorro uses icky little batteries and big screen and no leds and the zorro wont come till a long long time .
I'm new to drones and it seems like you'd have an answer. I have a Eachine Wizard X220S FPV Racer RC Drone Omnibus F4 5.8G 40CH 30A Dshot600 800TVL Flysky FS-i6X RTF, and a BetaFPV FPV Whoop Racing RTF Advanced Kit 2. I think I prefer the radio that came with the Whoop over the bigger Flysky. Would this Zorro be a good choice for me moving forward with more drone purchases in the near future and would it bind to the 2 I already have? I don't want to have a different radio for every drone. Also since most of the drone language is Spanish to me, which version would be best?
Does this radio easily pair with dji's v2 goggles? The remote that came with dji kit only seems to bind with dji's fpv drone. Would like to add some other smaller fpv drones to my collection. The other dji fpv remote that seems to bind with the goggles and other multiple drones retails for $300. This looks like a real nice customizable radio for the price.

A bit chunky for my tastes. screen hurts porfitability for small mobile 'quad' bag. Prefer my T-Pro :). Once my toys are setup in the radio, screen size doesn't matter that much to me. However, totally envious of the front tension screws that T-Pro lacks!

I have it and I can’t use it after Tango 2 pro. Now I think I will sell it . Really not good for pitching :( too thick . Good radio but only not for pitchers
Bummer my jumper t lite (with hours and hours and hours of custom work programming flashing soldering etc and add-ons like 4x18650 6000mah Sony's with elrs and fan mod and strap mod and VAS antenna jeezo and all the flights I mean this thing was as familiar as my tighty whities from 3rd grade) it sh_t the bed on me today. I dropped it a few weeks back and that might of done it busted switches and repaired them and all seemed good. Who knows, blue light comes today worked fine yesterday, but it won't boot no dot dot dot dot, no digital screen and no sound and no external module power, release power button and blue light goes out. Batts full charge. HULK SAD. 😞 Thanks for these vids, I almost got a Jumper T pro as replacement, but HATED the switches situation, what real pilot invented that silly switch 💡? We go on feel during flight for switch position, no? TH-cam'd and saw the Zorro is way to go You saved my ARSE. Do you think my MANY elrs ep1's and 2's from Happy Model will still be compatible with Zorro internal elrs if I refresh them all with same state firmware? I'm hoping so! Sad if I have to get all new matching Radio Master elrs Rx's to go with. UHG. If it's not a burning up VTX or failing gyro or bad camera it's a crash, an untimely tree branch, and now this. 🤔 down for the count till mid April yuck RDQ says zorro early March LOL it's almost April! No drone soup for me and the weather is just turning. Man am I just wanting to fly the friendly skies!!!!!! In the end will be better for it, lol I'm still on the R8 pre-release initial firmwares version from elrs... worked so dang good I never had any reason to change it or keep up. All my quads and rx's got flashed to that firmware from my hardrive. So was dreading this day LOL 😆 but somehow knew it would happen my T lite been looking ROUGH and heavily used as of late.
How much of a pain in the ass is the software for someone new to it? Seriously, grab a friend, and see how much (or not) they struggle with setting up a receiver with esc and 3 servos.
The screen is just aweful. Either up the price and add a color screen or just use the 2.5" screens. Edit: 250mw is a bit of a let down but i assume that is because there is no cooling like the t-pro will have to hit 1watt. Cant be due to battery issue cause you can piggy back a 2s for more power. 250mw is enough but could be better.
Phil, I dunno man… Have you compared this screen to the other game style radios ? Just curious? In comparison this screen blows them away. You can’t add a 2.5” color screen and make this under $100.
@@dronecamps Yes my daily is a worn down T-Lite with happymodel elrs module. I just think the thing looks terrible. I might get it once the "rumors" of cnc gimbals comes out. I bet they could source color but NOT touch screens for maybe $10 more. I dont like any of the "dot matrix" screens really so a bigger one is just not needed. cut down screen size and make it a bit smaller and lighter.

The t-pro has a more t16 look for the buttons and they light up the jumper

Yeah it can pair with the DJI v2 goggles. You’d be set. Get the Jp4in1 version!

I have it and I can’t use it after Tango 2 pro. Now I think I will sell it . Really not good for pitching :( too thick . Good radio but only not for pitchers
Bummer my jumper t lite (with hours and hours and hours of custom work programming flashing soldering etc and add-ons like 4x18650 6000mah Sony's with elrs and fan mod and strap mod and VAS antenna jeezo and all the flights I mean this thing was as familiar as my tighty whities from 3rd grade) it sh_t the bed on me today. I dropped it a few weeks back and that might of done it busted switches and repaired them and all seemed good. Who knows, blue light comes today worked fine yesterday, but it won't boot no dot dot dot dot, no digital screen and no sound and no external module power, release power button and blue light goes out. Batts full charge. HULK SAD. 😞 Thanks for these vids, I almost got a Jumper T pro as replacement, but HATED the switches situation, what real pilot invented that silly switch 💡? We go on feel during flight for switch position, no? TH-cam'd and saw the Zorro is way to go You saved my ARSE. Do you think my MANY elrs ep1's and 2's from Happy Model will still be compatible with Zorro internal elrs if I refresh them all with same state firmware? I'm hoping so! Sad if I have to get all new matching Radio Master elrs Rx's to go with. UHG. If it's not a burning up VTX or failing gyro or bad camera it's a crash, an untimely tree branch, and now this. 🤔 down for the count till mid April yuck RDQ says zorro early March LOL it's almost April! How much of a pain in the ass is the software for someone new to it? Seriously, grab a friend, and see how much (or not) they struggle with setting up a receiver with esc and 3 servos.
I was so happy until the battery is low capacity. Not worth it.
The screen is just aweful. Either up the price and add a color screen or just use the 2.5" screens. Edit: 250mw is a bit of a let down but i assume that is because there is no cooling like the t-pro will have to hit 1watt. Cant be due to battery issue cause you can piggy back a 2s for more power. 250mw is enough but could be better.

Have you compared this screen to the other game style radios ? Just curious? In comparison this screen blows them away. You can’t add a 2.5” color screen and make this under $100.
@@dronecamps Yes my daily is a worn down T-Lite with happymodel elrs module. I just think the thing looks terrible. I might get it once the "rumors" of cnc gimbals comes out. I bet they could source color but NOT touch screens for maybe $10 more. I dont like any of the "dot matrix" screens really so a bigger one is just not needed. cut down screen size and make it a bit smaller and lighter.
@@philsonnenberg6092 you really don’t need a bigger screen if you only flying drones. I don’t think it is ugly though.
