I forget sometimes how young Haliburton actually is because he plays like such an experienced player.
He’s got the savvy and the efficiency of a vet. He rookie guards usually struggle but he was stupidly efficient since day 1, on a bad team no less

Yea lol because 2 years is an eternity in the nba. Once you're past your sophomore season the clock is ticking, cause by then you should be putting the pieces together already. Your first season is to adjust to the schedule and the pace of the game, your second season is where you find your role on the team and start to focus on those aspects. By your third year there's gotta be obvious progression and consistency. All that is barring injuries and if you came in already playing at an all star level.

How the heck is it Gobert's fault that Edwards didn't improve? I swear people love using the guy as a scapegoat.
If anything, Ant has recently learned to play the picks better, learned when to dish and when to score. You'll notice this especially eith KATs absences recently. Gobert being there is forcing Ant to become less flashy but more efficient, which is what you want from a young star. It's not all about scoring.

Nah man, Melo certainly had the best rookie season. And I can admit that he is the best player on his team. But by now Ant is better, the man dropped 50 twice, and Halliburton is having a really good season looking like Chris Paul.
Obviously Ant gonna drop 50 1s in a while cause he's a scorer n Melo's not, he's a playmaker lyk CP(CP3 doesn't have a 50 point game).....don't get me wrong Haliburton is having a great season but i think it's way too soon to put him ahead of those guys, plus Melo been injured this whole time

Ball and Edward are equally skilled scorers, Ball is better rebounder, Ball is much better playmaker, and I believe they both have potential defensively.

I'm not tryna be that guy but I knew haliburton was a steal and was gonna fall cause he was a year older than the other prospects.
Plus he had defensive concerns somehow.
I had him going from pick 5-9 range.
I had LaMelo and Ant top 2.
But this draft was wild for everyone since we couldn't really get the full experience.
Especially the oversea players like Ball,Hayes,Hampton etc.
So many players where reach picks and many where steals.
Plus maxey was considered a lottery pick over players like kira lewis and Patrick Williams.
Even Isaac okoro who was projected outside the top 5 went up in the boards.
But okoro was picked on potential like many of them.
Desmond bane didn't have a high ceiling to teams cause he was older.
Now look at him.
Prolly the best steal in the first round.
Defense was his biggest concern yet he plays above average defense.
Shot creating concerns but he turned into a shot creator.
Playmaking concerns that he destroyed to.
Dribbling obviously fixed.
Giddey is another player that was overlooked cause he was overseas and the thunder still picked him.
The draft is based off luck for the teams and players.
This draft has to be the worst of this we seen in a while.

What annoys me about this conversation is that we talk about Edwards and LaMelo so much that the moment we see somebody else that’s underrated we put to much thought into them and falsely put them above the guys that are for sure better. Bane, Maxey, and Haliburton are Great played but Edwards and LaMelo have the highest ceilings and frankly the only ones who can lead their teams to winning records as the number one option.
i mean what is there that LaMelo does that tyrese can't do better? The only good thing lamelo has is his flashy passing and I dont see him being more than a 25ppg scorer and be a better defender than tyrese

Haliburton is literally leading his team to a winning record right now, despite the pacers being projected as a wemby team. Lamelo imo has the lowest ceiling of the three top picks in this video, as he hasnt shown he can do anything but play dlo brand of basketball
