I'm currently doing my daughter's ka mk2, this video has been a life saver, biggest stalling block have been the connection between the brake lines and flexi hose, nightmare but patience, a blow torch, plenty of penetrant and they are finally free 😅
Attempting this with a friend over the weekend. Are the rear flexi hose and rear brake pipes something you need to buy? I've purchased the brake pipes, though unsure if this'll be enough.
Replacement of the flexi hoses (unless they are defective) depends on how easily they can be detached from the front to rear metal brake pipes. On this car they proved very difficult but flexis were in good condition so not replaced, even though we had them. Attempting to force the issue would have created a lot more work.
I hope so! First garage I took it to quoted 2k for my fiat 500 😮 Getting a second opinion of course. It’s clearly a labour intensive job but that and parts still seems extortionate.

@@TheKeadyboy I’m glad it has been helpful! Too many of these cars go to the scrapyard prematurely for this common problem.
It looks like it's been under the sea! Nice job though, methodical, easy to follow. Looking forward to pt 2👍
Editing is underway!
What a punishing job, the one with the panda! You must be very fond of the car owner.... 😆👍🏼
Excellent video and very detailed in absolutely everything. 5*
Any idea where do you got those stub axle bolts from? Or do they come with the axle
All the fixings were genuine Fiat from the dealer.
@autoknight747 I'll be doing this on a Ford ka im assuming they are the same.. them plastic fixings are 24.99 from ford bloody robbery

@@autoknight747 Thanks for the heads up. Here's hoping it'll be an easy job. Waiting on the nuts and bolts then I think we're good to go :)
Do you know the total cost of all the parts? I'm thinking of buying an old Panda as a project.
The owner provided all the parts so I do not have the invoices in this case. I did ask and said he believed it all came to around £500.
Thank you asking. Looking forward to part 2. Archie :-) @@autoknight747

My fiat 500 has the same problem, would you be able to estimate how many Hours you spent on the replacement?
Just over 2 days work so estimate 16-18 hours. Would have been way quicker on a ramp and without the added burden of filming it!
£130 for the beam. Expecting job cost £500 with all rusty parts around it !??
