      Yes, first time visiting for me in the over 2 years I've been living here! And not all that far away from Cairo 😅 Definitely worth a visit, I only knew about a few things to see but as I began to research the Fayoum Oasis, more and more things came to my attention. It's like anything in Egypt, you plan to see a few things and then discover there are dozens of more historical sites and points of interest. The wealth of history and culture in this country is overwhelming! 🤣 Thanks Judith, more to come for sure! ❤

Like adding more effects between the seen and things like that. You may have to pay him 10 or 20 US every week. Which will be heaven to him and you know it😂❤. • @Gventures
      @Gventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, Egypt uses a lot of gluten in their dishes. You can stick to eating meat and rice and fruit, but they serve bread with almost everything. As far as street vendors go, there isn't a TON of street food here, not like in Asia. The street vendors that are usually serve the food with or in bread (liver sandwiches, foul (beans) in bread, not sure about the falafel).

    Just stopped to say that I'm really amazed about how courage you are and how much you know about Egypt and Fayoum in particular "btw as an Egyptian I didn't even know half of the info you mentioned about Fayoum".
    Now next time you meet an Egyptian in Cairo and you tell them that you went to Fayoum. Just tell them "in a funny tone" that you went to buy some chicken chicks and watch them laughing their socks off XD.

    • @Mokhtar22278
      @Mokhtar22278 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Gventures Well, At some point Fayoum was the center of production for chicken chicks "for a lot of reason i.e. their agricultural environment", that they used to distribute to the farms that domesticate them and sell them all over Egypt. So it became like a funny stereotype about people who live in Fayoum "Oh you're from Fayoum? How much does 10 chicks cost now : ) (stuff like that)".
      There's nothing derogatory about it "unless you wanted it to be depending on the context (which I'm obviously not here to advocate)", but if you're going to use it with someone who's from Fayoum it's better to make sure that you guys are comfortable enough to exchange jokes ;).

      Haha, hell yeah it was! Did you know that the mastaba entrance was made by grave robbers thousands of years ago? So crazy, and a very fun experience. I also love that there are 0 tourists there, it's the way we all want to experience ancient sites. Absolutely incredible ❤

    • @mariangheti1327
      @mariangheti1327 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Gventures Yes, they built the entire mastaba after they laid down the mummy, without any actual access tunnel to the surface, which is quite peculiar. It's mind blowing the ancient wood hammer used by the grave robbers to roll the sarcophagus lid is still in it's place. Some suggest it was a royal tomb since the sarcophagus is made out of granite and a crooks and a mace have been found besides the mummy. Either way, really intriguing place.
      I am surprised they opened it for tourists, given the difficult access and I am definitely grateful for it (we managed to shoot an Indiana Jones rip off video in there). In other countries they would either keep it close or enlarge the entrance, which would ruin the experience.

      Not really. I was concerned at one point because I got lost in some country backroads and was driving through narrow dirt little roads with straw everywhere, the straw was snapping and hitting my legs and for a second I thought it might be a snake...but it was just straw 😄The local farmers told me how to get out of there. But it was kind of fun driving through that area, I really love riding through villages and local places

      @@ahmedlotfy8060 No, I've been living in Egypt 2 years now, they just follow you around. They don't need to and shouldn't in my opinion, tourists go explore temples with their tour guides all the time without security. All they needed to do was unlock the gate to let me in. But maybe they wanted to make sure I wouldn't do something crazy like destroy anything, or go somewhere I wasn't allowed. Who knows. Anyways, it's annoying because they were loud and talking to each other and I would have preferred to explore the temple in peace and quiet and enjoy the place to myself, but it is what it is.

    I swear, traffic in Cairo was worse than last time...but I did drive,ride in south east Asia against my better judgment and I survived, go with the flow, that's what they say. Just like Thailand. How's your new bike?

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, driving in SEA can be intimidating, especially Vietnam where it's like an army of motorbikes everywhere you look 😆 But I have to say, I liken traffic in Egypt to traffic in India, that is what it reminds me of the most. The mix of cars, motorbikes, microbuses with people jumping in and out, pedestrians, boys on bicycle with huge trays of bread, cats, dogs, donkeys and horse drawn carts, the occasional camel if you're down by the pyramids 😆 It's a lot of fun though, and keeps you sharp. Loving my new bike!
