Giselle one day could you do an episode on tour groups and tour guides in Egypt. Things like what they offer and prices. As I'm a single🇭🇲 woman traveling solo and want the safety of a companion and guide.💜
I have considered that, but to be honest it seems like an impossible task. There are hundreds if not thousands of tour companies, all with varying reviews, prices, quality, and packages. I also never take tours, so I know literally nothing about tour companies, agencies, guides or guided tours. Because of that, I wouldn't be able to speak from personal experience about any tour company. And even if I did take a tour with a company (which I honestly have no interest in doing), I think I might get a different experience than most people, because they would know I am making a video about it and might treat me "special," which therefore would not accurately reflect the experience the average person would get. So, in all honestly, I don't think I will make a video about this topic. Never say never, of course. Maybe one day I will (who knows?), but it's such a HUGE topic with so many factors, I wouldn't even know where to begin and there are lots of complications to making a video about it. I will say, you can look online for different tours and there are ENDLESS options and companies, so you could start narrowing it down by first figuring out how much time you have in the country, and what are the most important sites you want to visit. Then try to find a reputable company with honest reviews that will cover those sites. But there are luxury tours, budget tours, private tours, group tours, simple day tours, just so many options.....
Of course every thing will be expensive . I am an Egyptian when I visit those places I make sure buying food and drinks and keep it in the bag befor the visit
Yeah I usually bring my own supplies too, but I forgot to bring water that morning so I had to buy some in the valley. Anyway, he charged me less than what he tried to initially (I paid 10 instead of 20-I should have paid only 5, but 10 is better than 20). And I know tourist sites always charge more, because they can get away with it. But in general, because I am a foreigner, people were trying to charge me more for things in Luxor, not just at Valley of the Kings but anywhere in the city too.
Oh haha, yeah because you went in summer and most people do NOT want to experience an Egyptian summer 🤣 I rode my bike south from Cairo in the winter so when I was in Luxor it was busy. Driving through the desert on a motorbike in the summer would have been terrible, but on the plus side, it is much emptier in the summer! But my phone that I use for navigation would have overheated, it does even in Cairo in the summer after a half hour of driving 😆
I don’t know if you are aware of this but Egyptians get into any attractions for a cheaper price then the tourists. Your command of the language and dialect is most impressive and you look like a Egyptian from lower Egypt-Cairo or Alexandria- so tell them you are an Egyptian American, see what happens and let me know.
Thanks! I do know that there is an Egyptian price and a foreigner price for things. However, my Arabic definitely could use a lot of improvement, it's very basic still. I don't think me telling them I'm Egyptian American would work, as I'm sure they would ask to see some sort of identification or proof of that. Because at many places they also offer a discounted rate if you are a student, but they ask to see a student ID to verify that you are a student, and then even if you have one they say you must be under a certain age even though it doesn't specify that anywhere for students. Maybe I could try it though, if I go sightseeing sometime in the near future
@@Gventures one more thing, have you been to the famous Gropy Ice Cream shop? Mid-April is the end of the tourist season in Egypt, so it's less crowded than it would be in January, but still more people than it would be in June or July when it's summer and very few people visit due to the heat.

Something so funny. I was at the Valley of the Kings three days ago. I thought maybe I should do a return trip because I missed so many tombs and decided to watch this video for some tips. My final thought was the same as Giselle. I told myself I wanted to get back to my airbnb and drink water in front of the fan. It is worth going but I made a big mistake.
