Hey Gary I really need your help fixmyride referred me to you. I have a 2008 535I BMW With the N54 Engine ZF transmission. On a cold start my car shifts normal a just doesn't go into reverse I have to keep moving it up-and-down up-and-down then it goes in but it goes in reverse easy when my car warms up like if I'm driving it for about an hour or hour and a 1/2 and it's warmed up it goes into reverse no problem. but as soon as I started up on a cold start I have to move it up-and-down to get into reverse what you think could be wrong. Thank you so much for your time

Hello I am a tech and am working on a frontier w/a RO4RO1A trans all I did was r&r the trans to replace the rear main after reinstalling all my gears are now reverse(R,N,D,1,&2). I have gone over all of my work and everything looks as it should ,no codes and on the scan tool everything is registering as it should I will be very grateful for some insight on this issue

Good morning my friend I had a transmission like that sometime last week with the same issue. I pulled the transmission and checked it. When I checked it the clutches they look fine no burnt mark on them. The filter did not clogged has it was suppose to be. I still over all the transmission put a new over all kit inside there and also changed the converter. And install an independent cooler on it. So what really wrong with this transmission the converter clutch damage and it cause the transmission to over heat.

Hi Gary, looking at an H4 and H6 that you did, it's looks like an Mfactory or Wavetrac limited slip differential will fit on the automatic final drive gear? Do some of the units use the same diameter helical gear as the manual transmissions? When I was searching the aftermarket posi units only specified the motor, not whether they were standard or auto transmissions?
The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to drag race a k swapped car unless there's a CCW 5 speed auto that fits an F22 or F23?

Hey Kurt, i'm honestly not sure about the gear cut on the standard shifts compared to the automatics

@@GaryFerraro Thanks for answering, it definitely looks the same. I think if I run some OEM part numbers, I could get an answer.
