Huge Trapjaw fan! He was my first figure when I was a kid (Both He-Man & Skeletor were ALWAYS sold out), so Stratos and Trap-Jaw were my first 2 figures.
Easily one of the coolest things Mattel has ever produced. Another great video from Pixal Dan as well.
The derpy eyes are on purpose. Also the asymmetrical sculpt regarding the eyes hints towards that.

I am getting this guy, Clawful and Skeletor to go against my He-Man and Classicst Turtles
One thing I've noticed is that this filmmation figures tend to have a much better sitting pose than the standard MOTUC figures.

the buck is different. they've built it up around the arm socket to form a seal against the black shield
Great review, this is by far the MOTU line I've been most excited about.
Terrible that Mattel can't get eyes straight anymore when they could 30 years ago.
The Horseman have absolutely nothing to do with factory errors like poor eye paint placement...

The 4 Horsemen don't have anything to do with the figures once they are passed the initial sculpture and paint phase. Factory errors are completely out of their control.
I think slightly derpy eyes work for this character. He's been through hell or he would not have had all this cyborg work done on his body. So that trauma may have knocked his eyes wonky!

Awesome line so far
Don't fret over the blaster. If this the Filmation version, you can recreate the scene where He-Man bends his blaster's barrel, Superman style.
When you plug in the hook it is not on the short side. It actually looks just as short as it did in the cartoon series.
My only nitpick with this figure is that the arm is too long. He had no arm in the cartoon, it was just the shoulder that he plugged the attachments into.
I have yet to see a copy of this figure that doesn't have wonky eyes. The one I was sent has the left looking up, and right looking down. The Filmation He-Man I was sent also had very badly painted eyes also, and I hope this isn't a continue issue for Club Grayskull.
I really really hope we get a new motuc 2.0 filmation HORDAK in this line!!!
Trap jaws eyes are supposed to be a little wonky ..they were in the cartoon anyway

I never understand why they don't release these figures at retail. They always sell out on Matty's site and leaves a lot of folks without these figures. If you can't get them when they're up you're almost guaranteed to pay a much higher price elsewhere. It just seems unfair.

+Nerdy Pinkie They are ultimately an exclusively collector based series. I doubt they are made in big enough quantities for retail in any outlet.

I think this spin-off line should have gone to retail. MOTUC makes sense as a subscriber series but these have much more commercial appeal.
How so? There's virtually no mainstream awareness of MOTU as a property these days. On some levels, I can see what you're saying as far as these figures being done in a more mass market commercial style, but the underlying property and characters still appeal mainly to a small subset of adults who remember MOTU from their childhood.

i like this one more,it's good that i have a second chance to get this guy,since i couldn't get the classics version.
I really wanted to collect this line but I didn't hear about the sub til it was passed tried to get a He-Man and this one but failed.
Not going to sub to future runs and have an incomplete set, would of been cool though. oh well

Prefer the original apart from the head. The head looks better on this one.

No, they intentionally left it off, because that's what the animation did.
How much does he weigh?
The Classics figure seems better in every way. Maybe I'm just being overly cynical that this Filmation line is Mattel drumming up interest in an inferior designed line to the Classics, just for more money. Surely there isn't interest for the entire Classics line to be de-made into this one??
Even as a kid, even though I watched them every time they were on, I always thought the Filmation cartoons sucked. Terrible drawing, stupid stories, it was like they phoned it in. I loved the original He-Man comics that came with like the first series, the darker, more detailed, more medieval fantasy world. When I see these figures based on Filmation, it just drives it home - they really blow, especially compared with the other Classics figures.

The figure has a amazing design. Although I can't image my man Trap Jaw without his skull and crossbone belt. Then agein the lovable He-Man cartoon did leave that detail out. So it's fine.
Also I think the animated Trap Jaw had wonky eyes to begin with.
Anyone else pretend miss painted spots where just battle damage when playing as a kid?
