WAS THIS YOU? A viewer left a long, great comment on this video about their experiences with running shoes from ages ago to the present time and how I should be open to trying new shoes and not believe all the ShoeTubers. But the comment DISAPPEARED! It’s probably too lengthy for you to repost, but please know that I read it and LOVED it, and you are right-it’s important to try new shoes and keep an open mind. I wish I had your TH-cam handle because I’d tag you here. I don’t understand why the comment disappeared. It was an incredible, passionate comment. What’s up, TH-cam, with the disappearing comments?
on my computer the comment is still there, i don`t know what happened, i know, that sometimes a comment of mine dissapears after a few minutes.....sometimes strange things happen in the internet.........i love to run every once in a while in my Huaka, it is like coming home, and it always puts a smile on my face.....
@@justanoldfashionedrunner605, somehow, TH-cam seems to be deleting your first comment. At any rate, I have your second comment, and I truly appreciate it! Just one thing: I have tried some other shoes, and for me, none come anywhere near close to Tempus for racing. Other stability shoes I have tried, especially those that are weighted down with cushion, keep me from reaching the top of my ability. I have literally experienced the difference from one day to the next, running in Tempus and then the next day running in a different stability shoe that feels too heavy. But still, I will keep an open mind and try new shoes. I had an opportunity to run a few miles in the ASICS Nimbus recently and loved it, but because of its weight, I know that I would not race in that shoe. It may simply be a good daily trainer for me.
@@TheMarathonMaster ....my thoughts regarding the choice of the race shoes. There is exactly one important aspect. You need to belief in your choice of shoes. As far as i understand you trust the tempus as your race shoes. So the tempus is your race shoe, and there is no need to change that. Take 3 pairs with the colors you like most and put them aside only to race in them the 2 or 3 most important races of the year. Make sure to keep them stored dry and at a constant temperature around 20 degrees european/ 68 degree american to save the midsole foam. Then you are set for the next 20 years. If you stumble over a new and better choice at some time great, if not it is also fine, no need to search for a needle in a hay stack, just stay open to try out different brands and new shoe lines from time to time.
for all daily runs and tuneup races i installed a few simple rules many decades ago, which served me well after a running injury in 1975, when i could not run for 3 months keep at least 3 different shoes from 2 or 3 different brands in your rotation Never run twice in a row with the same shoes If you have some pain during a run or within the next 36 hours, don`t run in those shoes for at least 2 weeks. If you get a simliar pain a second time, never run again in those shoes. Mix in a few new shoes each year to compare and contrast don`t belief what other people tell you to choose as your shoes, find out for yourself always follow your heart
@WesHarvey-c8n, you are TOO funny! LOL! Truth is, this collection is little compared to what, I understand, many other runners have. Sadly, unlike handbags, once shoes are shot, they need to go.
Thanks. I wouldn’t care if they discontinued it as long as they introduce a shoe-either Saucony or another brand-that stability-needs runners could wear for an improved running performance, just like neutral-shoe runners have that option. So many shoes on the market cater to neutral runners’ racing needs, but the same cannot be said for stability runners. Sigh.
I’ve heard that Hurricane is supposed to be a substitute for the Tempus, but I don’t see how that’s possible given that it’s a max cushion shoe and is heavier. I prefer some other shoes for daily training. Max cushion is, to me, for walking or extreme recovery. Thanks for commenting!
👀 Obsessed, aren’t we? 😂 Stop ranting on my Tempus 2. Just kidding. It’s all good. The Tempus 2 is about a 1/2oz heavier than the Tempus 1 (men’s size). I am a short distant runner and can’t feel the extra weight. I have narrow ish feet and the Tempus 2 fits me better than the Tempus 1 due to the redesigned upper. BTW, I haven’t heard anything about the Tempus being discontinued.
LOL. Honestly, I wish I wasn’t so concerned about Tempus possibly being discontinued. It’s been difficult finding a good shoe considering my stability needs, so yes, I guess I’ve kind of become obsessed. Sigh. It’s great to hear that you like Tempus 2. Maybe I will give it a try . . . but not while I can get Tempus 1 so cheap! But one thing-I don’t have narrowish feet, so hearing that you do so well in Tempus 2 with its redesigned upper makes me more convinced that Tempus 1 is truly the right shoe for me. Your kind of feedback is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you, @Adamas11!
Yes, I saw the Guide 18 drop. Looks intriguing as a possible daily trainer for me. I had a chance to do a test run in the new ASICS Nimbus, and though i found it too heavy for racing, I also think it could possibly be a good daily trainer choice. Decisions, decisions, @Adamas11!
Always the way to go if you can try them in store! That’s one of the problems with Tempus-no stores in my area, that I am aware of, sell it. So I haven’t been able to try on Tempus 2.
Go for it.
They are great, helped me get a PR in Chicago.
@astonward339, I am right there with you! They helped me PR in Chicago in 2023 AND then again with an even faster time, in 2024!

I know you really like those Saucony Tempest so I hope for your sake they will not be discontinued.

I have a new pair of Saucony Hurricane 24s that I have yet to try out. It is a max cushion stability shoe as well, have you tried it?

As much as I love the Tempus, the Guide 18 is intriguing. I’d like a little more cushioning and the Guide 18 may to the trick. I may try it out…

I’ll probably try the Guide 18 in store and then make a decision instead of buying them blindly online 🤣
