If it's about influencer wedding then in my opinion Satshya Tharien's wedding was the best. Loved all her looks and in her videos she described everything about the process of her court marriage to the cost of outfits and jewellery she wore. She did the perfect blend of culture and having a low-key wedding.
Absolutely loving you two talking about traditional wedings when almost everyone here is planning big european themed weddingsss with tacky gowns and 3 shade eyeshadows
I am a Bengali and we traditionally wear banarasee sarees as brides. Current scenario is that ,the Chopra- Johar- Malhotra gang of Bollywood has invaded wedding culture of us Bengalis. So girls are ditching beautiful banarasees for blingy lehengas
May be in big cities but in tier 2 and 3 cities Bengali girls are still opting for traditional attires, they may dawn a lehenga in engagement party but that is after having the ashirvaad ceremony in saree. Recently, one of my friend married a white guy and she made sure they do all the Bengali rituals and we all know Bengali weddings are long. But her logic was that it was the only time to introduce her culture to him properly 😊
The marriage counselling thing that should be initiated by parents before getting their children married is a very important point raised by Naina. It. Is more important to share the experiences and pitfalls and how to be sane and rational after wedding day to balance out argumengs
I’m so happy I was poor for this marriage conversation and just got married with my money. But it made me sad that my parents loved me a lot less than normal parents
truuuueeeee this episode is a breath of fresh air. I myself got married back in Dec and I was having none of that excess shiiiiiit ~ still haven't posted my wedding on the gram lol
I'm so glad the patriarchial undertones of that a traditional Hindu marriage entails were brought up, because the age of social media has packaged these rituals so aesthetically than women are still going through with rituals that feel suffocating and uncomfortable for vibes. And when fellow feminist friends just surrender when it comes to their wedding honestly makes me question the propriety of our values and ideologies.
I am so happy that someone in your generation is talking about this. Fabulous! But seriously why are you stealing the joota? Don’t. I didn’t even do for my sister’s wedding. Don’t be a part of something that you clearly despise and mock.
I LOVE this podcast! Btw, What you said about there not being a middle ground is not true. My partner and I got married without any rituals under the special marriage act and all we did was sign papers (the registrar came to our wedding). Apart from that, there was cake, emotional speeches and just a ton of drinking and dancing with our closest friends and family! Thanks for having a discussion on this topic ❤😊 it brought back amazing memories from our wedding night!
Bhai people have different lives and journeys and noone's doin any less better than others unless they are hurting someone/ not following the laws. Stop pretending that you know any better than everyone else!
I agree on the groomsmen negotiating over joota churai, some of the groomsmen are really a pain to watch, like literally so embarrassing you literally wanna GPAY whatever amount they are asking so you can end this shit show
sometimes i literally put off watching new episodes bc im gonna be bummed once it's done and the thought of waiting for the next one is too stressful smh
*hi guys I have a suggestion for you please start making reaction videos on movies, songs, trailers etc. I'm sure people will like your reaction videos Please think about it once., many youtubers doing this nowadays, if you agree then start with "animal" movie trailer, I highly Request you.* 🙏🙏
Broo bringing my hater energy too because themes are so fun. If u hate themes you just dont know how to repurpose basics. All u need for a great gatsby theme is a sequin bodycon dress and a feather 😂
