Love your videos. I have another suggestion for a defensive layer thats beeing used a ton this league that you could include in your calculations:

Another cool idea - how far can you reasonably push each layer. For example, can each of them realistically tank Uber Maven Memory Game? (3x in succession the damage you showed)

If you are playing a max block character (attack and spell), how does it work with the fourth vow and the incandescendant heart setups ?
What I ask myself is: Are these types of go to defensive setups dependend on the content these players play? Are people still figuring out the best setup which becomes meta in the next league, leaving the other setups behind? Or are the setups asecendy / tree side depenend.

I love the video. Although I think giving each setup the same armor base is a little bit unfair since the different set ups require a different amount of investment to get started. For example the fourth vow setup can be played anywhere on the tree and just requires the timeless jewel (all of them require a timeless jewel). The incandescent heart set up is required to path to the armor/es mastery. And finally the transcendence setup requires a lot of phys as ele conversions through out the tree and gear. For a fair comparison the fourth vow set up should be at 86 chaos res like the incandescent and have about 60k armor. The Incandescent should be boosted to 60k armor and the transcendence can be kept unchanged.
Can you please make some suggestions of how a build would work with she shield and tempered by war?
I think it's not quite correct to ignore Physical damage. While many Uber Bosses have insanely high damage elemental abilities, most have some way of dealing Physical as well, and then the Transcendence setup shows its main weakness - no armor vs physical, as its armor is used on elemental instead. For Uber Maven that's especially important, as she summons the mini-bosses randomly, some of which can have pretty high physical damage abilities.

I wonder how Doppelganger Guise compares with Fourth Vow for damage reduction on Divine Flesh builds. Would free you up from having to get a lot of armor, while still also providing protection against physical damage nonetheless. It also works on DoTs iirc.
I think if you can get a decent amount of armour and use the 10% of armour applies to chaos damage mastery, it could be very strong. Doppelgangers regen on hit is also really comfy. I feel that it is a generally underused body armour that is actually very strong in the right setups

@@madsrasmussen7133 the less phys and chaos damage taken modifier is permanent by default unless you use the insane toggle skill that it gives you, at which point the 'while sane' modifiers will stop working and the 'while insane' modifiers will then work instead

Doppelganger is good on builds that aren't building armour. Plugged all these chests into my pob and DG gave me the most EHP, mostly because my character doesn't build amour.
how much phys taken as elemental do you need to make the loreweave+transcendence setup super strong? And does it matter if u only stack one type of phys taken as elemental (like only fire for example)?
And is there a benefit of the mod on Dawnbreaker that then converts cold/lightning to be taken as fire aswell?

I'd say anything above 70% starts to feel very tanky. It does matter in terms of damage taken which types you shift the damage taken to, because each individual elemental type will have the armour calculation applied seperately, but this is not typically that important in the grand scheme of things and it's more important to just ensure that you have enough phys damage shifted.
For the dawnbreaker shield, those modifiers are extremely beneficial on a transcendence build in particular because as this video shows, penetration is one of the weak points of the transcendence build so taking one element as another can help to alleviate that situation. It also once again applies the armour calculation seperately as mentioned above, so that's another strength too.
do u consider transcendence and loreweave and 90% phys damage reduction (through 13 endurance and other shinanigans) the best defense layers?
can someone explain wheres hes getting the max res on the fourth vow setup, also the max chaos res on the incandescent heart setup.
Divine flesh gives 5 max chaos res
Any comments how a melding of the flesh with physical damage taken conversion compares?
If the melding setup can get to 90%, it's pretty strong when you can stack some forms of less damage taken modifiers but it does get destroyed by large penetration.

Why the loreweave setup has 78% resistence if the trasncedence keystone lower maximum resistence by 15%?
loreweave sets your max res at a fix value, so it overrides any max res increase or reduction
Loreweave wins over transcendence as it's your max res ARE x, which counters every plus or minus max res applied elsewhere.

one thing is, maybe not to read the values that are on the screen. it is better if you came on a overall conclusion or a comment in each slide than read numbers

When comparing Fourth Vow to Incandescent heart, why do you assume that Incandescent heart would be paired with higher max chaos res than fourth vow? Both are being paired with divine flesh and would have the same opportunity cost for max res on gear/jewels. Just wondering if I'm missing something
They don't really have the same opportunity cost since FV is still taking 50% as elemental which is the weakest part of the setup. Since IH is taking 75% as chaos, it can focus soley on scaling maximum chaos resistance rather than max ele resistances. Tbh the most difficult thing about such a comparison is being fair with allocated stats, what's equal, what's not etc. In hindsight the FV setup would be able to get more like 79/80 ele res for the 86 chaos res of IH assuming those 6% max res came from small clusters, for a similar amount of total points spent.

So, as I was saying last vid, i'm currently playing a boneshatter transcandence on juggernaut, and I can facetank almost everything in the game (when my life regen isn't disabled). So yes transcandance = stronks
Yeah transcendence is incredible once you have fully invested into it, very very strong setup!

how would heart + ci even work? you would need to get to 100% phys and ele conversion to chaos, otherwise you would get instakilled. but i dont think thats possible, is it?
IH CI has been a go-to defensive combo for many years, it just makes 25% of elemental hit damage be taken as chaos damage, ie. removed from the calculation since you're immune to chaos damage. You can't use those two together with DF, which I assume is what you're talking about, but IH CI combo has been outclassed by all of the new defensive additions we've had to the game in recent years so it's not as good these days
@@dreamcore_gg aaaaaaaah, makes sense. i thought people would go with DF as well, but with no ES and 1 life everything would kill that way.
it still seems very strong though. if you are a CI build anyway, slap on one item and you get a quater less damage.
do you really think the other methods you have shown in the video totally outclass that setup?

@@dervakommtvonhinten517 Yes, ED is incredibly powerful, it's why you'll see many HC builds using it, often with Loreweave but even without Loreweave it's strong. ED provides additional elemental damage reduction, which is additive on the same layer as other mechanics that would provide the same stat ie. Juggernaut's Unbreakable, Transcendence keystone which both apply armour to elemental hit damage, providing elemental damage reduction. And yes it does indeed work against DoT
@@dreamcore_gg Im planning on using ED in combination with full cold/lightning conversion. that way i only need to make sure i get my fire res to 90% and my chaos res decent. then i can easily run RF cause the dot also gets reduced by my chaos res right? and the max res reduction doesnt matter since i only need to increase one resistence type.
but it would still be VERY interesting to see how the normal ED setup (lets say with loreweave) stacks up against the other defensive strategies. it would also be interesting what the total reduction would be.
if its additive as you say, i should be able to get well over 90% total elemental damage reduction right?
Not sure its a fair comparison when incandescent heart is both given higher Max chaos res and the mastery
The max resistances were made on the assumption that the Fourth Vow setup will take both the Prismatic Skin wheel and the Soul of Steel Wheel, in this case I didn't include the extra 1 maximum resistance you'd have in the real scenario just for balance across damage types. This is because the weakest part of The Fourth Vow is not your chaos resistance, it's your elemental resistances and those need to be focused on far more. The Incandescent Heart has a small cluster node and a shield mod, or two small clusters.

meanwhile trickster with 16k+ ES ghost dance walks in front of this skills so that he can heal himself from them (except the maven memory game, that shit is crazy i tried to facetank it and kiled my HC lvl 100 trickster, i believe that the second and third memory games do more damage than the first one )

@@dreamcore_gg You referring to poe db i know but if you actually test it out with those stats ingame Uber Maven Brain Bomb will oneshot you with these stats.
tl;dr Fourth Vow sucks, Divine Flesh + Incandescent Heart is #2, Loreweave 50k armor Transcendence is MVP, Loreweave setup is better for mapping.
