The drive system for the 944 was designed by LeTourneau. We had training by them back in 2007 & one of their guys told us that they were working on a drive system for a new Deere loader. I guess this is it !
youd think that the washer fluid reservoir would be in/ around the cab. but I guess being in the engine bay itd keep that fluid from freezing during winter operation. pretty neat machine. what cat loader does it compare to?
Im about to graduate high school and im looking to enter the operating field. I cant figure out weather I should send myself to school, join a union, or get a job as a laborer. Any advice or just stating how you got to where you are would be appreciated. Thanks
I wonder what volvo that matches? the 250h seems a little to small, with its 35 ton aprox while the old 350 is to big with 51 ton and it is also kinda outdated, i guessing a new series ain't that far away on it. would be cool if they went with diesel / electrical to. What's the weight on that deere btw? kinda interesting. /Emil.
+the pizza devil i see. Nice features on it anyway, really liking the electrical drive, also those service ports and test ports etc, most hoses seem to be kinda easy to replace when you blow one. And yeah the L350 is old, hoping that volvo goes electrical on the next one and also the tiltable cab from the 250 and down would be a nice feature. sadly i think they go with a new larger optishifth instead of electrical transmision.
There are indeed going to be a diesel/electric Volvo L350. It will be launched late 2017 or 2018 when the I-series are introduced. The 16.1L will probaly be replaced by the smaller 12.8L. New axles with electric motors, also completely new cab. www.bluelarix.com/projects/industrial-design-of-vehicles.html. If this is the real deal i actually dont know but it seems to be legit.
Deere charting new territory with a electric drive loader? Not something you see in that size of machine it probably more fuel efficient than the competitors.
+justfakeit888 Hopefully no fires, overheated generation systems, crispy wire looms. Power transfer will definitely be improved and no driveline/transmission service intervals, fluid and filter changes are a big plus.
Thing is that those parts don't usually up and fail, and can almost always be rebuilt. The wear parts are extremely few compared to a mechanical transmission. Trains seem to have good luck with theirs.

No DEF in this baby. Deere 13.5 is iT4 compliant. One coolant bottle is for the engine. The other is for the power electronics of the electric drive.

LeTourneau had electric drive and controls about 50 years ago but technology has come waaaay forward. Time will tell if this is better or not.
+Graveltrucking I'm no expert, but electric sounds a lot better to me. Full torque, few mechanical parts, happy to instantly reverse, etc.
