    We will walk you through the installation of a set of KST Kustoms 12" handle bars on a late model Roadglide. This is a pretty easy task and you should be able to do it in a couple of hours with basic tools and a friend to lend a hand.

    I love quickly and optimistically he talks about running the wires through these bars.

    I’m getting ready to do bars tomorrow on a 2022. Little nervous at doing it my self but good thing for TH-cam.

    No need to remove the ignition switch. Just remove that little plastic chrome trim piece it just pops off by pushing in the tab.

    If I did the 12" mayhem bars on my 2011 road king, would I have to extend all the cables and wires

    Can these bars work on a 2007 road glide @12” tall and use the factory cables?

    your web site said nothing about removing the locator pins for the 2018 road glides, do you know if they updated these handlebars to have the holes in them?

    Is there a specific video for installing 12 inch bars on a 2013 street glide

    So on a 2018 Road glide special there will be no need for cables or wiring extensions if I go with 12"? What about going to poly bushings?

    Hi Pauly. Just for frame if reference, how tall are you? You showed a before and after shot, so I'm just trying to picture the angle of the bar for me (6 feet). Thanks!!

    can you tell me if I would need the extension kit for the wire/cable/brake if I got these bars for a 2010 road glide.
    Thanks John

      According to KST, if you use the 12" bars for your bike, you should not have an issue. www.jpcycles.com/2010-harley-davidson-touring-road-glide-custom-fltrx/handlebars/kst-kustoms/12-inch-rise

    If I like my stock bars, can't I just punch out the pin in the forks, and also grind off the pin on the controls (as you show in your video) so I can roll the stock bars forward ?

    hey Pauly, I noticed that you did not have to extend cables or wires. I have 02 fatboy just wanted know if you think i could get away with it to, with the kst kustom 12 in. bar on it. thank you I like your videos keep it up!

    • @jpcycles

      Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I believe the wiring will work for 12" bars, but if I recall the brake line may be too short. You may be able to straighten the hard part of the line, but probably should replace it.

    2018 Ultra Limited would I have to get extension on 12’s.. And is it the same process you did on the Road Glide

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say if you need the extension for 12's but you are probably ok. No the installation on your bike will be different. You have to loosen your fairing and tip it forward to access your handlebar clamp.

    Ok I have a 2011 road glide. Can I put theses 12inch bars on it without changing the factory cables? If so I'll order some tomorrow.

      Doubtful. But it depends what you have on there now. Best to measure and be safe.

    would KST bars fit on a metric bike???

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Outside of the bars just for 15 and newer Roadglides, they are not model specific, but are designed based on Harley Davidson riser width and are slotted for internal wiring and do not have the dimples like a stock bar would. Hopefully this helps.

    I can’t decide if I wanna be Jax Teller or Paul Sr. Guess I’ll just leave the stock bars on.

    What year model is this bike you are working on? and is it the same procedure for my 2005 Road Glide FLTRI? I just purchased the KST Mayhem from you guys..please advise before, I get started on this project. Thank you.

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The basics are the same, but there are not locator pins to grind or tap, and you have throttle cables verses throttle by wire.. Your bike should be easier than this one, unless you purchased a taller bar that will require changing the cables and extending wires.

    Easy enough , however why would anyone want to put bars like that on a bike built for old people ? I am 64 and still ride a ridged frame 1962 xlch look to the right

    This video is a little misleading. They don't show how you have to remove the front faring to unplug the wiring harnesses. Swapping bars is not a 7 minute job, more like half a day! Nice bars though, I just installed the 12" outlaws on my 2013 Road Glide. Was able to use stock wiring, brake line, and only had to reroute the clutch cable a little.

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This job was done in 45 minutes and did not require removal of the fairing. This is newer than your 13, but I did three sets of bars on my 2005 Roadglide and never had to remove the fairing.

    • @mamatried1980
      @mamatried1980 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know about the other years but in the 2013 you have to remove the fairing to get to the connectors
