Well done Mark, you've saved me sending back the Alpex. On my permission the other night and moved from one spot to another and found that the scope was in the French language and had no reticle at all, after hearing of your experience I've put it down to 'user error', I'm left handed too. I was beginning to lose faith in the Alpex but you've restored it.
Bought a alpex really good even with the illuminator you get with it definitely going to get the nightmaster sl for mine as it's a bit more powerful great video Mark and nice shot on a fox in wrong place at wrong time👍👍
Hi Mark, A good unbiased video chap, but can I let you and your viewers know this. HikMicro have now developed a completely new switch panel, that provides that raised bridge between the three buttons. I got onto the company and listed a number of things, that I thought could be better. The buttons was one, and the double zooming of both images, was the other. Now the only image that zooms, when using PIP is the smaller middle image. HikMicro are still working on their products, and will listen to us (The end users ) There's a recent video i made that shows the new button setup. Look out for the video titled "DUCK OFF" Cheers, David
Thanks David, that’s excellent news! I too mentioned this issue with them and as you say they really do take constructive criticism on board and strive to improve E which will no doubt take them along way in business 👍
Hi Mark & fellow hunters. Well I first bought the Alpex because the Pulsar was not availble for a long time, my wish althou was for the Pulsar because I own the Thermion XQ38 and like the menu of the Pulsar. Thing is when you get accustumed to a system, you stick by it otherwise you are goin to make mistakes and I did... The menu of the Alpex turned out to be fuzzy and I never was certain about the settings. Therefor I missed some shot on foxes. The iluminator has no switch, you have to turn the lamphead to put it on and this way you can dim the light, but...if you forget this and drain the battery, yes it happened. The charger is exxelent, it gives you info about the capacity and charging current. Like Mark said and that was most anoying, the rubber switch has no "feel", in dark you do not feel wich switch you press, oh and the rubber eyepiece, it kept falling off I was in a lucky position that my retailer had a fresh shipping of Pulsar C50 and took the Alpex back inn (thank god). The menu is the same as the Thermion, the buttons have a clear "feel", the eyepiece is magnetic and does not fall off, the iluminator has a ON switch, is dimmerable and has a lamp head that can be directed, there are 2 rechargeble batterie supplied and not as the Alpex ONE Rechargeble and one CR123 wich you have to discard when empty. Oh and not to mention Pulsars crosshairs, they are the best and sharpest, I am happy again. Cheers my friends, happy huntings 🙏
I tried, first a Pard 007. Then a borrowed Alpex. Honestly could not cope with fannying around with tiny buttons in the dark and wet. David at Predator Protection suggested a "Cyanski" lamp. Red, green and white with four dimmer settings all in one unit at about £95. So I spot with a Hik thermal, then light up. Beam on white lights out to 400 yards plus. Never looked back tbh. Guess some of us are just not tech savvy and are classed as "lamping dinosaurs" 😂 Also much easier on the wallet.
Hello Mark, after speaking to you at the shooting show, i got myself a hickmicro FQ35 and the alpex. I tried the alpex on the .223 and know I have got another one on the .22Lr. You can stop the countdown on the alpex by pressing the menu wheel. (just going to check 🤔)
Nice one Mark, having owned all 3 the hik is the one I would goto first then the C50 I found the iray abit laggy during the day. What ir were you using? Hope you will be doing some more long range shooting on your channel its been a while 😉
You really need the sum light function turned on on the C50 it really does makes a difference to its performance at dusk and night. I think if it had been on you would really appreciate the C50 a lot more. I appreciate the work that goes into a review like this it's definitely not easy.
Yes I have, I used it a few times on a couple of shooting & country tv episodes - pretty good little unit for the money! I’m not sure if I had the lrf model though 🤔
Hi Mark. Can I ask if you have had any problems when using the one piece mounts on the Alpex using your .22lr. I bought one of the same, and with my Anschutz .22 the mount keeps deflecting the spent cases back into the receiver causing jams. Just wondered if I've just been unlucky, or if the same has happened to you, or indeed anyone else reading this ?.
Hi Mark, great vid as usual. Sorry for late comment. How would you say these three scopes compare to the old benchmark for IR scopes, the Drone Pro? I'm still using an X15 Drone and still happy with it but would be lying if I didn't say that I could do with a bit less weight when got a lot of miles to do on moors. Do you think the image quality is up there with the drone sensor, or even surpassed it now? Tried the Hik at the Game Fair and it was ... OK, but struggled to convince myself it was a worthwhile investment over what I've got with the Drone. Would be great to hear your thoughts (I don't have any need for bells and whistles wi-fi etc so it's just down to image quality at high mags of arounf where the drone operates at native X15). Thanks Mark.
i had the alpex i returned it i did not like it i have the infiray td50l and its a lot better with the latest update i have tried it without an ir torch at night no moon light and i can still see a long distance with it i can see a pylon very clear over 400 yards also the picture during the day is not washed out as you say
Hi all, I bought the Alpex and its come with a illuminator but I'm not really getting the distance. Have others changed the Illuminator to something different?
The C50 appears darker on the recorded footage than the others. Similar in other reviews also. Is it the same through the eyepiece? Can the brightness be increased if the view through the eyepiece is dark also?
Yes the brightness can easily be adjusted, that’s probably because I was using it rabbiting at closer range last a with a bright ir, so yes, don’t worry overly about that it can be brightened up 👍
Im looking at getting a Day/Night scope and this review dropped right on time, im torn between the C50 or the Alpex, i have seen on other reviews that people are favouring the Alpex but i already own a pulsar XQ35 LRF so im edging towards the C50 because i am more familiar with the menu set up and operation. saying that, all three of these scopes are pretty damn good though.
The Pard 007 is very sharp, bare in mind though the image is greatly pixilated when expanded from the size of the scope to that of a pc screen! The down side to the Pard 007 is it can be a pain to focus 🤔

Alpex all the way for me. Got them on my 243& my hmr. 👌👌
all good scopes. you should review the pard DS35 70RF
love seeing these videos, helps when trying to decide what to get 👍
Great review mark and once again the fox magnet was in the right place at the right time with that Charlie stepping out. 👍

Great review Mark, love the Fox shooting interlude lol.
Can't wait to give this a watch
Great video mark. I placed order for Alpex today with Ashley
Ah excellent 😉 Ashley’s a good lad 😉👍

My man is back!😄🎉
Keep an eye on the shooting show and shooting & country tv as I now mostly just do videos for these channels!

I was using a pbir-x with all 3 👍
hey mate, just got one of these scope. howd u zoom the PIP?
Whilst the purchasing choice is obviously down to the individual, nonetheless, I would like to learn what Mark’s choice would be?
Each have their pros and cons and in truth I really couldn’t decide 🥴!
Just one question, when comparing them at night what IR did you use
Cheers
It’s the pbir-x
Would also like to see it compared to the pard DS35 and if poss the Wulf. Great video 👍
Yes the Pard was originally in the line up but unfortunately at the time it was out of stock everywhere!

No I’ve not had any issues with this 🤔
Is the HickMicro Alpex reticle easy to see through the scope? seems a little dull compared to the other two in your video
Yes it’s a lot clearer to the eye 👍
El pulsar fue el que se ve mas nítido de noche? con aumento x14 me pareció que se ve mas claro y menos pixelado que el resto.
Yes, I think the pulsar probably overall comes out on top for these 3, hard to say 🤷🏻♂️
@@260rips hi mark will the sportsmatch hop92 fit on a pulsar thermion scope am looking to order one cheers

Best affordable scope with LRF?
With lrf? I guess that would be the Pard 🤔
What ir are you using?
This is with the pbir - x 👍
You could just say which one YOU like the best Mark 😉
In honesty I really couldn’t say, each have pros and cons and when you factor in prices it’s even more difficult!

You won’t go far wrong with any of them, if you are familiar with pulsar already then the c50 would be a good choice 👍
The image quality on Pulsar beats the other to by far.
Going by that footage the my original Pard 007 has far better clarity at longer ranges
The Pard 007 is very sharp, bare in mind though the image is greatly pixilated when expanded from the size of the scope to that of a pc screen! The down side to the Pard 007 is it can be a pain to focus 🤔
