- Dynamic dB level test on Alfa Romeo 4C, equipped wtih GMS 3" Modular exhaust system (200 CPSI cat + GMS valved silencer) + GMS Stage I ECU (hard cut, pops and bangs, 7250rpm max) + GMC carbon CAI.
Not absolutely trustworthy comparison as the GoPro automatically tunes and evens the audio levels, but should give a basic insight on sound levels and characteristic differences between open and closed exhaust valve on the GMS 3" Modular exhaust - valved silencer.
With closed exhaust valve, there is significantly less noise from pops and bangs and hard cut limiter. Mostly you can hear turbo compressed air rushing through the exhaust. With open exhaust valve, both rev limiter and pops and bangs are significantly louder. Due to unrestricted exhaust flow, the turbo air rushing is now gone and engine note is far more exposed.
