    Thanks for this vid! I've owned Saturate for a while but ended up picking up Elevate at a loyalty discount of 50 bucks due to your recomendation. I love the transient emphasis section!

    Thx so much for your tip to Baphometrix. Such a great source of inspiration for the mixing strategy I was searching for. Not that I am seeking for ultra loud masters but a way to get more control over the dynamics of my mixes.

    Clip transients (drums-perc) limit tonal peaks (bass vocals etc)

    Wow, that was actually very interesting! I'm gonna check Baphometrix afterwards too, thanks

      It's the most comprehensive guide to loudness out there, plus a wealth more info on audio that's relevant to anyone making electronic dance music

    The loudness war in EDM could be ended instantly by Pioneer putting LUFS meters instead of peak meters on their mixers, and putting an arrow where you should be sitting on the meter. Half the problem is you can't play more dynamic music, because chances are the clown DJ playing before you was already redlining the mixer with -4 LUFS bangers and the sound person has already rolled their eyes and turned the system down to compensate. There's no headroom for bigger peaks in this scenario

    actually i tried it before and i ended up with a track without transients , so be careful

    • @Zdrewe
      @Zdrewe  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it's really easy to f* things up with to much clipping. As you said, be careful and tasteful.

    Also demoing Kraftur. I have a few clippers including Newfangled Saturate, Kclip3, Standard Clip and even though the GUI of Kraftur (I also love Gullfoss) is amazing, I don't like its sound as much as Kclip3. I already have too many clippers anyway.

    • @Zdrewe
      @Zdrewe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can add huge amounts of loudness with Kraftur through saturation but as it comes down to it’s clipper, it’s a roulette - sometimes it works fine (like in this example) but I’ve been trying it on another track and it simply shaves off too much.

    • @nectariosm
      @nectariosm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Zdrewe I could not get it to the same LUFS without distortion coming in earlier than where it did with KClip3 and generally couldn't get the same clarity...dunno if its the extra band in the multiband section of KClip3 and the cross overs being different because of it that basically it makes its possible to get ballpark settings and not exactly the same, but yeah...I am a SoundTheory fan and was about to just purchase Kraftur straight away, but then I tried the demo and that stopped me from buying it.

    • @Zdrewe
      @Zdrewe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @nectariosm yeah, it’s been a couple of days since I filmed this video and like said before I’m not 100% convinced to get Kraftur as well. it still surprises me how good KClip and Saturate are for the price. And speaking of KClip, can we normalize using Germanium on every single track?
