My man, means a world!! 🙏 I always have some form of stage fright before releasing videos and not being sure if my explanation makes sense. Glad to hear it does!
You're my favourite ableton producer on yt right now. Great editing, great ideas and high quality video. You deserve way more followers dude. Keep it up!
@@Zdrewe Keep going with techniques like this, which are unusual but acrually pretty cool. Also, I'd like to see more content about Max For Live devices, free ones especially. I think It might be a cool topic and by showing them to us you will actually help M4L developers making them gain some visibility!
Best Ableton TH-camr, imho. Love the vids. Best thing about buying the Mastering the Mix plugins was I was better mixes and was introduced to your videos!
I absolutely love the indepth type of video!!! I kid you not, your channel has been the type of content I been searching for months and months and months and months! But no seriously, my new go to and will be for many many more days to come
Great that you're sticking to stock plugins (and some max addons) only. Thats a great basis for brilliant educational content. There are plenty of tools already there that are absolutely sufficient to get pro results. If you know how to use them... Thanks sharing with us
Don't know about others, but I enjoy your videos a lot. I'm far from beginner, but your approach is very cool. I'm tired of copy paste audio tutorials and your view is entertaining and useful!! I'll be glad if you will do more in depth tutorials!
Yeah, I found it to be the best solution but now when I think about it, I think you can also launch it from session view as a clip. Need to check it tho
Love the in depth vids - as I love all your stuff 🥳 being entertaining while giving away this much brilliant information is pure gold 🥇 keep it up and thank you! I already recommend your channel to everybody 🤓
At this time stamp in the video what is to the left of the audio effects rack? It’s showing the waveform and whether or not the sound is in the middle or sides. Is it a VST? Thanks 🙏 Love your videos btw thanks for the solid content.
First of all, thanks for watching my friend 🙏 no, it’s not VST, it’s an app called MiniMeters you probably saw a bunch of times on other people’s videos. I just made it fill blank spaces in Live instead of having it on top of the screen
Yeah, that’s another way I actually talked about in my previous video about drum rack sends. It’s only the workflow thing depending on which route you choose - audio, midi or drum rack. Thanks a lot for watching 🙏
Just fyi, there is actually a difference between audio and midi. Dial in the gain to zero, and then do a null test. They don’t null. The sampler devices (simpler sampler drum sampler) all affect the sound of the samples. No matter the setting. Whether one is better than the other is up to you tho
My bad, I did a quick test with two same kicks and inverting phase. At first it seems like a huge difference but once you switch simpler to classic mode and turn off filter it only seems to add a bit of click. I wouldn't call it night and day but you're right. Guess you learn something new every day. Thanks for the insight and watching 🙏
@@ZdreweDid you do the old reliable simpler -> sampler -> turn interpolation to max quality -> back to simpler -> save as default? It’s a bit weird that simpler is not at max quality (and that you can’t change it without going to sampler) from the get go, but an easy fix.
@hubbalol I nearly forgot about sampler, will try this one for sure. It’s funny how they added another sampling device (drum sampler) while not fixing this at first 😂
@@Zdrewe yeat its really strange. i saw an ableton dev talking about it and he explained how to fix it, but it didn't completely fix it haha it is what it is i guess. maybe one day it'll be 1 to 1
@@hubbalol even with sampler at the best interpolation setting, it still affects the sound of the samples. It’s particularly noticeable with gritty 808 samples. That’s where the differences are notable enough to just opt to use audio instead of midi. But normally I use midi just cause it’s easier. And it’s not that they sound worse. Just different
Happy to help bro 🙏 I’m launching patreon in ~2 weeks. The initial thought was to make some 1on1s or bonus content around some racks and presets I make but thanks for the suggestion about dnb 😉
Hi Zdrewe, I noticed you used to use the VSX headphones and sE Dynacaster in your previous videos, but I haven't seen you use them lately. What happened to them? Do you recommend these Sennheiser headphones for mixing over the VSX? I recently moved to USA and need to start buying my equipment again, so I’m looking to update and make the best choice. Thanks in advance! (really good video)
Well hello there! No worries, they’re both still here 😉 speaking of mics - I like to use both this Lewitt one and sE interchangeably (I might switch to sE while recording again since sometimes I can’t see the keyboard with this huge Lewitt mount 😂). I highly recommend VSXs since the emulations are top notch. They always sit on my desk whenever I’m doing final touches on my mixes and checking bass. I got those HD490s since I always wanted a pair of proper open backs. VSX is the best choice when it comes to versatility and translation. That being said, 490s are amazing but I always double check things with VSXs since I trust them the most.
@@Zdrewe Hey bro, thanks so much… I really appreciate your response, man, it means a lot. I’ll keep everything in mind as I start this new journey here and get into creating content for the socials too. You’re a legend, keep killing it - I’ll see you at the top really soon. U deserve it!
I have a secret crush in Logic (tried it a couple times and went with 90 days trial when it was available) but those stock Live devices made me stay 😂 The only side chick I need to try is Bitwig since their stock solutions overpower Live in some cases
So I just found out about Snapback, such an awesome plugin but I don't have 29 dollars for that Do you know how to make something similar with the stock plugins? Please tell us I beg you
SnapBack is a wild timesaver ngl. If I woul have to recreate it with stock things, it would be probably be an instrument rack with a bunch of simplers and align delay although you’ll need to either calculate those delay times or do it manually. At this point it’s the same thing as just dragging samples manually to arrangement and aligning them there
@@Zdrewe I see, how about assigning the 'slapback' sample to a simpler inside a pad of the drum rack, then finding out where the midi notes for it should sit so the whole thing takes effect, select it relatively to the closest midi note start and then copy it thought the midi track? Honestly I'm not even familiar with the technique but just thinking about having to do all that for every sample just draws me out. Anyways thanks for replying, your content is just on point and just really helps us to understand the daw even further. Nice work!
@luckyrobot4405 if you have access to 12.1 beta it should be ready to download from centercode as a pack. My bad tho, creative extensions only have melodic sequencer.
