Hi everyone! ExxotikGaming here - hope you're all having a great day today! Recently I've begun to get worried about the future of mobile gaming...it has changed a lot and I (personally) don't think it is for the better. Too few mega companies control pretty much all the games we play nowadays, and there's a lot less creativity compared to games from 7+ years ago. What has changed? What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments your thoughts what can be done to solve this issue! :)
Hope you guys enjoyed! Liking, favoriting, and subscribing helps a ton! :D

I understand mobile gaming “dying” is obviously a bold statement, and in reality we talk more about how it’s starting to head in the wrong direction. However, it could indeed start to “die” if it keeps going on this path, hence the title of the video. What do you think? Discuss in the comments! 🤔
True 👍
Mobile gaming is in right direction but BR games are in wrong direction. Mobile gamers don't wants BR games. We want non br mobile games. Take the example of Solo Leveling Arise and Contest Of Champion. They are successful as they are fighting games. See mobile players wants non BR and Non shooting game
Nowadays, games that last are simply those that can be milked for money. The likes of CoDM and PG3D turned into little more than cash cows now, anything that doesn't make a bank, becomes forgotten by the devs....
@@TheHopelessThrumbo cod mobile isn't the mobile game. That game was created to earn money. So we can't call them mobile games. P33D isn't a mobile game either. Please try to understand that you can't call a game the mobile game because it's available in playstore/ iOS store for download. There are 28 fundamentals a game has to follow to be called a mobile game. So failure of cod mobile and other br games can't be called as failure of mobile games as they aren't mobile games
I personally have never see "mobile" (more precisely: smartphone) is a good platform for gaming from the start. It's even not ergonomically designed for gaming.
The problem arises because players can have much cheaper options to do in game transactions in mobile games compared to the other platforms. So they bought things, and because they bought, mobile games become more lucrative to the publishers.
Games dying because developers only focusing on microtransactions.
Back than it was all about "make it addictive, otherwise we loose"
😞 True like clash of clans
Fr
There's a lot of games like
CoC
Pixel Gun (Turned into a Micro transition game)
Flappy Bird
Any Balloon TD (BTD battle is free and feels like better than BTD battle 2)
Fruit Ninja
Geometry Dash
And others
Mobile gaming is dead on the west, not in Asia. In Asia mobile gaming is big AF.
Take the example of Clash Of Clan, I am playing it from past 7 years and I still love it today. I will keep playing it for 20 more years as that game has that much content to play
Well that's a given , buying consoles and high end PC's are just not worth it here because why waste more money when you can just play well enough on a portable device like a phone. And with improvements in phone specs every year and their affordable prices it just makes more sense to buy a phone whether it's for gaming or just work related stuff.
@@haveahappyday2151
Gaming companies earns more than 800% more money from the mobile version. Mobile is easily available to everyone and they can easily spend money in mobile by using Paytm and other apps
@@haveahappyday2151 Thats half of the equation. I have family that lives in Vietnam and spoke to many people in Indonesia or Thailand from gaming with them. Its culture compared to the west. People love going out to hangout with friends, going to cafes / restaurants / parks / beaches, etc. and being able to play games on the go while enjoying life, scenery, food, etc.
Us? We love to spend big money and stay in a box separating social life with our entertainment life.
I agree, you can literally play anywhere as long as it has some good stable internet connection. Your good to go.
Cheaper pc options with good specs is also a factor thats been playing a part here
I agree! So many mobile games are trying to emulate a PC experience, they're beginning to lose the unique "mobile gaming experience" in the process. Games like Pixel Gun were so successful because there was nothing like it, even on PC! Single-player and multiplayer options, so much content - that was such a great game! We need more games like that in the future so mobile gaming gets back on course!
Even some mini PC's can play some very demanding games
@@ExxotikGaming this man its sad mobile games were mobile games for a reason they just had that vibe but now they’re replacing it and thinking that it will benefit, but it’s actually doing the opposite
@@mememermers9750Warzone is a very heavy game, my friend has a GTX 1050, and Warzone is just unplayable
@@GeniXDude csgo and valorant runs in 140 fps in gtx 1050
The real reason why mobile gaming is dying is because mobile games demand high specs. Therefore, people will need to shell out at least 900 to 1000 USD dollars which is almost the same as a PC! Why spend that amount when you can get a PC and play way more quality games? It's pretty dumb to spend that much just to play games with ps2-nintendo switch graphics
I feel like gaming in general is
dying.
I agree i feel no joy playing games anymore theres no spark at all now i just enjoy watching reruns of wwe literally
Well I’m in between with this assumption… for me competitive games are just not it for me, the feeling of wanting to reach a rank or get the coolest skin.. that feeling is fading
nowadays I just play single player story games and that’s it… I’m about to finish the last of us
Same, i play only for nostalgia now
I think were just growing up
Bythway I know gaming is dying but do you own any console or PC? And have you played any games rather than mobile?
"People are getting tired of playing because of games that you can't enjoy without a good cellphone specs... developers are always focused on the beauty of the graphics rather than the gameplay... most players are students or ordinary people who earn just enough for their families and can't afford to buy expensive cellphones."
most games nowadays are filled with micro transaction that are not so micro anymore
lol fr
😢
ima blame Warzone Mobile. Reason? well bc it burns peoples phones which caused Global Warming. and Gordan Ramsy can make a whole ahh dish bc of it. and the graphics killed the GPU😭. am I right? bye bye mobile gaming :(
Give me some of what your smoking
Bro on drugs 😭
What blud yapping about????
Bro is smoking plastic
😂😂😂😂 that true
This is happening because every mobile game companys they are thinking everyone has a 1000-2000+ euro/dollar phones and not a pc that can run emulators and play mobile games and have fun with out the worry of battery life and overheating issues
Thats because games are about graphics now not gameplay what yall expect 2014-2018 was good after that mobile gaming ended
I also genuinely love mobile games I know they are looked down upon but I actually love mobile games so I hope they don’t die
The 3rd most successful esports event of all time was literally of a mobile game, it was was the 2nd biggest esport event of last year too. I think mobile gaming is dying if you only see it from the perspective of the west. It's just getting better everywhere else especially in Asia. It's huge af.
What game are you talking about?
What he means is that they are no longer fun or give joy, it's now Bragging simulators of gambling simulators for you to Brag and show off your new 300 dollar GRENADe skin , not really because you're having fun,
@@gagongnilalang9865 the game is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, huge esports teams from other games are getting involved with that game's pro teams too. Fnatic, Team Liquid, Vitality and Falcons. Maybe Cloud9 too if they sign the North American team.

Now most game studios are making their games optimized for only iOS even though the mobile gaming community is based on android. This is making mobile gamers drift away and switching to pc and console including me 😢😢
I’m glad you made a video addressing this cause I am noticing that most good big mobile games are heading towards gacha games that’s the big thing now and while I love that I want more shooters more different types of games that you can play not everything should be a gacha game but hey at least we have rainbow six and the division coming out this year that’s pretty cool hopefully those games stick around
Lack of single player AAA quality game. They are just focusing on money grabbing always online game.
Used to watch you during the lockdown days. Then for a few years your videos disappeared from my feed because my interests changed. Then after three fuckin years, you're in my feed again. I missed your voice Man. Love the content.
Example: codm refusing to add new br event/map
I heard that it was stopped because they wanted to concentrate on Warzone
Codm still doing good
they focus on multplayer ..codm doesnt care about br..blackout is a surprise
@@mischiefone138It’s not the same team though, different teams made Warzone mobile
@@sw33tialucard but who finance things though??
Sounds like your describing a game like Forces of Freedom , from the play store , back in the day. Sadly it disappeared. What an excellent an unique game it was.
i stopped playing mobile games from playstore months ago. now i just prefer to emulate or play games ported from consoles or pc. maybe some arams in wild rift if i crave some multiplayer
Me too, I already tired with current mobile games that we have, most of them are has same concept, and hyper casual that following trend. So I decided move on to ported games and emulator like retro, PS1, and PSP game. Probably I'll gonna try emulator PS2 when I get a better phone. :P
People saying I need a High end phone to play upcoming games zoned me out of mobile games. So i bought a mid range pc to play 2024 games😅
My friend just said “Mobile community is just beyond saving at this point”
ok
I think Nintendo is missing a MASSIVE opportunity with mobile. I think they could make a mobile Switch to make calls and Cloud games and have chips of all the older Nintendo games and the ability to download games to the chip. To the phone from an at home box.
Now a days games are too much heavy they cannot be played in mid games now a day they focus on graphics more then optimization . I hope we will get good games like modern combat series.
Apparently games especially mobile games nowadays are mostly broken at first release and fix later, carried by marketing, these things are being normalized which is stupid. Because of these, we can't have full-fledged games that are functional, playable and fun like the good ol' days
Honestly indie game developers need to get back in the game and not compete with games like warzone and pubg they need to go back to making their own thing, games like bullet force for an example
Nice topic. 👍👍👍
The difference between back then when you could have fun in a game... And now. Is microtransactions. That's why mobile gaming is dying. You can't enjoy a game without bumping into a microtransaction to either progress further or to continue playing for as long as you want. Forcing gameplay time to be as little as 10mins before you have to wait for a energy system to refill or something similar. Don't know about anyone else but those microtransactions and energy systems make me uninstall the game....not to mention ad ridden games trying to force a payment.
10:29 i disagree with this, It's not okay to release w bugs cuz that's what is currently killing console games, Console PC IPs are releasing games with bugs then slowly dropping patches and people are hating on them really bad,
A mobile game tried this idea too, that game being warzone mobile, warzone mobile released with bugs and we all know how it flopped, a smaller IP doing the same would lose a player base it never had just because it wanted to get the game out there as fast as possible
8:00 what is the name of this game ?
Modern combat .
You can play Modern combat (3,4,5)
@@bibek1070i used to love the older MC games, these storyline games were so unique for mobile back then.
Well, that is Modern Combat 2 Black Pegasus android version, not mc 3, 4, 5
Alot of facts and honest I like that
I don't do a lot of mobile games nowadays cause there's just too much ads and microtransactions. Honestly really kills my mood.
Hard to agree with you when services like Apple Arcade and especially Netflix gaming exist. Netflix has been bringing high quality indie titles like sonic mania, hades, gta, and deaths door to mobile devices. Apple have innovated with their iPhones and m series iPads to allow games like Resident evil 4 remake, The division, Death stranding, and soon we will have the new Assasins creed mirage on iPhone 15 and iPad M series. These are triple A experiences NATIVE to mobile devices. It’s pretty incredible. So no, I can’t agree that “mobile gaming is dying” all evidence points to the contrary and I’m excited for the future
Handheld PC gaming is The Future that's why I'm Buying Lenovo Legion Go!
Wow Modern Combat 4,5 , LoneWolf this clips do make me go back to my childhood what a Great memory to feel once again nowadays games maybe looks far better than those and have good things but won't give off same vibe 😢
Hopefully a game like valorant will be a fresh air to mobile gaming, a small map and easy to understand game, not too many machanics like peeking or prowning, yes the abilities might be take a while to learn but it will be healla fun
i know its not mobile but fortnite is the perfect example of this the game literally came out of nowhere and gained huge popularity and it wasnt from a big company or anything at the time
1cestream is doing ok coz arena breakout is still fun
I stopped competitive/fps games years back, i more on roguelites/roguelikes games, also sandbox for more chill gameplay
Video cards was a big one too. Now we only have 2 choices lol
Maybe the main reasons are flagship device prices, bezelless screens and financial expectations of developers' , instead of hand consoles right ?
I think nowadays Mobile Players prefer Gacha games more... For an example Wuthering Waves that is coming this 22nd has 30+ million Pre Registrations.
i think we need more story game than online game and you can play it co op too if you want to
I am playing clash of Clans from past 7 years and still I haven't reached max level. So I will keep playing clash of clans for next 20 years. So mobile games aren't dead but BR games are dieing as they don't have much content
For mobile yeah there no hope for this genre but for PC it still doing great like Fortnite i currently still playing it :)
@@PyxlkilleZ battle royale aren't real mobile games. They are pc games models made for earning money from mobile players. Mobile games are casual and they are non BR. So you can't judge mobile gaming on the failure of BR games in mobile as BR games aren't mobile games. So don't question mobile gaming on BR game success as BR are games aren't mobile games even if they are available in playstore or in iOS store
I quit Clash of Clans, the game is getting more and more microtransactions every year,I also played for 7/8 years, I have a large part of the max stuff but not everything
@@mitagamingst2642 see you quit as you are playing Clash of Clan in wrong way. Play it for 10 mins each day and farm slowly. For playing Clash of Clan patience is a must. So keep self calm and stable and grind for 10 mins a day. Play it on bus stop as you waits for arrival of bus. On airport as you flight is delayed. That's how we play mobile games. That's how you enjoy mobile games
Well many of us still play mobile games especially in my country many people myself included play games like free fire PUBG mobile clash of calns etc. Warzone mobile or Activision to be more precise did betray the expectations of the fans(I thought the worst it could do was have a slow ads time like mw2 or at the most packet bursts out of nowhere but the mobile version exceeded my expectations in the worst possible way.
Bro is spitting facts it feels every mobile game is dying it’s just toxicity that is prevailing .
Hey Exxotik Gaming you said overwatch 2 mobile ya im big fan of overwatch 2 and if overwatch 2 mobile gonna come out than im definitely gonna grind and play it in my whole time . I love that game. When Exootik says overwatch mobile i get happy as a big fan of that game. Im free to play player but when its comes to overwatch 2 mobile than i am gonna still buy skins even I'm free to play player.
I love how you tackled how games sit on a beta test for too long. Apex for example. Part of why its grew so big is because they intentionally kept it a secret and didn’t promote it till the release. Clearly they didn’t realize that for the mobile version.
It would be nice if old premium mobile games could be updated (offically) to run on recent versions of Andriod & iOS
The only mobile games i see being popular are some skibidi toilets game
Or some gta ripoff chinese versions

Gaming isn’t dead.. People just keep realizing life ain’t a game.
I personally play supercell games, so I think the opposite. (Mostly play brawl stars which has been peaking lately) and supercell has fun mobile games
By the time i just upgraded my pc and my wife pc (14600kf 7800xt 14700k 4080ti),we just switch back to pc gaming for good,we still do play mobile games like codm wz mobile but not that much anymore, specially when a lot of great pc games just keeps coming, mobile gaming still and will always be out there for sure.❤
More survival or storyline based games are needed
Fr
I don’t think that makes them a lot of money . Specially most mobile games are free
Lone Wolf mentioned ❤
best examples are rainbow mobile and valorant mobile soo much long time to even release it and the hype died
There were big companies in mobile before screen touch appeared
i have switch to offline emulators , playing console quality TPP/FPS games with a long campaign. .
What emulators are you using?
i got all the switch emulators for android ... even the dead ones that Nintendo has been took down . . and the special apk of idtech , I'm able to play the old games like Doom 1,2,3, Quake4 , Prey , RTCW (mod), etc.
What's the name of it I meant
Nova 3 will forever be my favourite mobile game ever. Modern kombat 4 is second.
Two cool games I've been waiting for all my life 'the division resurgence mobile' and fading city
Can you talk about " shadow fight " plz i feel like no one talks about it, and it's a great game
Yeah i know right?Nekki does really create this amazing games with kinda tekken vibes, but there's still some problems with their games.SF3 has too much going on like events, faction wars, raids ugh i cant really keep up like how i used to in the past back in the day when chapter 5 still not out yet.And SF Arena (AKA SF4) does not have many characters i hoping they would release new hero for like each month or 2 theres just so many SF3 character you could potentially add like Master Okada.
They're adding new hero in two months time
Making new heroes for games like this take times because they have other games in hands that they don't want them to die
They have sf3 and sf2 and vector which still receives updates till this day also they also have sf2 roughlike shade's which is still very new@@PyxlkilleZ
Pay to win or don't pay to win 10years later
All the game developer needs to watch this
The problem is microtransactions, battlepasses and other grindable stuff. You wont have time to play other games cuz you want to finish your battlepass to get the full benefits. Etc. in PC gaming, just enjoy a game or two then you can switch to another game easily.
Basically the fear of missing out. Updates are good but too much update is bad as well.
7:50 whats the name of the game in the background?
I own both, my phone, and my Nintendo switch lite except I’m bored of making videos on mobile and I don’t have something else to record like I can’t record on my switch and I wanna try recording on PC and I don’t have one sadly and I don’t have the money to buy one and yeah I agree that mobile gaming is dying.
I think there are a variety of things here.
1. IT's not Solely on the Dev's of these games, but also consumers. You mention the rise of AAA Studios making Mobile games now. Well most consumers once they start getting Fed that Juicy Steak (AAA Games) , Don't like going back to Cheese Sandwiches (Indy Games) Not all of them im aware).
2. Things are costly in today's economy. And Most Mobile games these days are geared to be profitable. If they don't make money, they are usually getting shut down after some time.
3. Maybe the biggest aspect of "Mobile" Gaming would be the introduction recently of things like the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG ALLY, MSI Claw, Lenovo Legion Go... All these essentially New Mobile PC's Getting access to to Loads of games. Lots of these new devices being released are either on par or cheaper than Most New Phones also. Not many people looking to buy a new phone to game on if they have one already, but a new device entirely...many would.
4. Many Mobile games today Have horrid Gacha systems or flat out just gear themseves towards the "Whales" out there.
I can remember playing guns of boom, those days were good
Sfg3 is fun and playing doom eternal on quad touch is fun
They should start creating co op mission instead of battle royale like helldiver2
Wats good shawty
I have a belief that most game are built by high expectations plus most of them don value fun alot often especially problem like microtransaction are out of control
Difference that triple like ea activision and others are already horrible don expect them to act surprised especially money is there goal they will take it regardless of the risk
Its the developer are the true weaknesses of the game
Most mobile games now demand high specs phones, which cost mostly the same as budget gaming pc , and some already support pc platforms, so most people will choose pc over mobile.
Yeah I hope Indie devs come back
many developer still don't understand how mobile gaming work even indie game did good job even triple a studio can't make same thing 2024 its a biggest disappointing for mobile gaming
Mobile gaming is alive everywhere but the west and maybe Europe. But in Asia, Africa and parts of South and Central America ts is HUGE and won't die anytime soon
I think maybe its because mobile games are becoming as complex and in depth amd money and time consuming then 10 years ago and its not ok for a game to have bugs and gliches
Im here 😢
Mobile gaming is experiencing a decline due to the unrealistic expectations of certain individuals who own older or budget-friendly iPhones and Android devices. They seem to believe that developers should effortlessly run AAA console-level games on their mid to low-end devices. Understandably, they become frustrated when their devices are unable to meet the demands of these games. In order to establish the credibility of mobile gaming with these AAA console-level games, it is imperative for developers to prioritize quality on high-end devices. It is crucial not to compromise the quality of these games just so that someone with a $200 phone can play them. Please accept my apologies, but I am eagerly awaiting the availability of games like GTA6 on mobile devices, even if only the latest and most powerful devices will be capable of running such a massive game.
Nowadays any PUBGM videos on TH-cam, they barely get 100k views within one week, yes it says a lot the state of mobile games nowadays. I think the peak of smartphone games era was around 2017-2020 when PUBGM and all the copies were still fresh. I think for now mobile gaming world really needs something that's groundbreaking
A more appropriate title is "Shooters in Mobile Gaming is dead in the west."
non-shooter mobile games here in Asia is booming.
I on Air conditioner just to play Warzone mobile on my Asus ROG 7 just imagine that 😂
Well only shooter genre game is dying with few rise up in popularity hope it stay for years (....except Warzone Mobile they shoot themselves on foot during global release lol)
Also not "all" mobile game is dying, gatcha genre with puzzle, open world, turn base, tower defense etc. still around for years.
17:07 what PC games are you referring to here?
We need a good indie game in the style of mortal Kombat
I feel if dev's started making better open world rpg's, combat shooters even survival games (not zombies) we've had to many zombie survivor games. I'm rambling now. Long story short, stop overthinking simplicity. Take Arena Breakout for example- they focused on Tarkov's issues fixed it and took over the spotlight. And wasn't focused on the market.
Big companies just want their fans money when it grows but it dies quicker
Small devs try to develop to make a good and fun game even bad games are sometimes fun
Ever since Apex Legends mobile shut down, mobile games just havent been as fun tbh
For me the best mobile gaming experience is emulation. Pc games fully ported to phones are good too.
And i think another around mobile gaming getting bigger known lot companies want pc game be mobile too will see it in next year's or so
If I could make a shooter game it would be rlly fun idk 😂😅
I'm waiting for fire front to be controller supported
As soon as I saw the title I already agreed because I thought i was the only one who was thinking mobile games are dying
you probably wont see this but i'd love to try and revive Toram's western population. it's an authentic rpgmmo it's turning 9 this yearand a new influx of dedicated begginners would boost the in game economy a ton
microtransaction kill games. nowadays retro console hunting is a thing
😢😢😢i really want to play Respawnables again..put alot of real money on it..😢😢
The fact that when people on TH-cam say mobile gaming, their only specifying FPS Mobile Games, not the remaining genres, so I believe the title should be “Mobile FPS Games are dying” not “Mobile Gaming is Dying” cus other mobile games are thriving
We definetly need something different. Battle royale is just getting kind of old imo. We haven't had anything fresh in a while. Dark and darker mobile beta felt good and its refreshing. Hopefully delta force will be good and im still crossing my fingers for rust mobile.
mobile gaming is huge and alive in Asia but i see mobile game studio developers are struggling with bad choices and money greed most of the time. correct me if i am wrong
Mobile gaming is big in Asia and its only getting bigger. A lot of people can't afford high end gaming rigs so they choose mobile gaming instead. Plus gacha games mostly release on mobile and Asia has a huge market for gacha games especially in china and Japan
I'm coming from java and symbian but now it's all online money grabbing stuff😔
