That kid is having one hell of an apprenticeship and will grow to be a gun operator from the day he acquires his MC. The positive future of the Australian transport industry rests solely on my generation grabbing our kids at this age and teaching them everything, hands on, from a young age just as shown in this video. Kudos to whomever is the young lad’s mentor in this video. Got a lump in my throat remembering my childhood doing the exact same thing with my late dad in the late 80’s.
That is a great video! That young man is learning a skill the only way to do it, hands on. As a 25 year cattle hauler here in the states, let me say that you Aussies get it done. My hats off to you all and to the young man, keep at it. I learned the same way and if you love doing it then it will never be work, good luck.
Fantastic. Great to see the young bloke having a go under the watchful eye of his obviously very experienced Dad. Truth be known he probably has more skills than many "licensed" drivers
Somebody Nominate This man for Father of the Year. If only all kids had Dads like this, what a Great society we'd have. I grew up going to work with my Dad and Grand father. I end up following in both their footsteps becoming a Train Driver and a Grader Driver. Best of Luck to Young Kirk in whatever he puts his hand to.
bloody good to see the young fella getting a proper introduction to trucking the right way , glad i can say i had the same , gets them feelings and memories going , hats off mate credit to you and your old man
That kid was like me forty years ago. But i didn't have a V8 superliner 😃 Makes me proud and happy to think kids still have a chance in this day and age. Well done sir. Keep up the good work. 👍😎🤘
Awesome stuff👍 Wish my child hood was as good! By the time this young fella is a teenager,he will be a master behind the wheel! Great to see such a wonderful bonding with his father! Could teach some city,so called parents, a thing or two about bringing up kids! Well done to both of you guys 👍😎🇦🇺
I spent many school holidays with my Dad in an engineering workshop. Probably why I became a tradesman. This was how kids found out money didn't come out a hole in the wall.
That kid was men 40yrs ago! All I ever wanted to be when I grew up was just like my dad and make him proud! He’s gone now and every day I still think of sleeping across the floor in the 1418 dreaming of the day I can drive a truck. I’ve had a pretty good life ❤️🇦🇺
No doubt what that young fella will be doing in a few years. Top operator in the making. Great videos and sound tracks.Looks as though it's bought back some memories for a few blokes as well. Me included.
Thats how the passion of driving a truck is past on an shown thats a Dad that should be Father of the Year thats a apprenticeship well worth signing on true Aussie Spirit an the Sound of that V8 would be awsome good ya well done 💯
Makes me a little teary I grow up on a station and my dad taught me the same thing driving trucks tractors all that and just last year now he had past away and I haven’t been able to do any of that top job ol mate
That’s how kids learn. You can’t teach skills in university or some driving school, like that young man is learning there on the job with his dad. Keep up the good work.
What a different world it would be if all sons could work with their Dad and learn real life skills. Sadly Australia has a lot of fatherless sons who grow up to be irresponsible males instead of real fathers
