nVidia entering the PC market is a good thing. x86 PC right now is not in danger because AMD has been able to execute performance jumps quite consistently in the APU market and the 9800X3D has shown that the Zen 5 cores are awesome but hampered by an obsolete IOD. So AMD HAS cut some corners this generation because they expected Intel not to be able to compete in Desktop and APU market. Strix Halo will likely perform worse than a laptop 4070 because of its lower clock speed. Memory bus width is the same at 128bit but DDR5 can only transmit 2bit/clock while GDDR6 can do 3-4bit/clock so overall memory bandwidth is similar between Strix Halo AI 395 vs RTX 4070m. nVidia will ensure AMD is on their toes for Sound Wave because we definitely need better IMC for Zen 6 to support DDR5 10GT/s RAM. And I'm hoping Intel can get their 1.8nm process up and running sooner than later.
