Congrats to CUPW for one of the most humiliating losses for a union in Canadian history. After 30 days of striking, you achieved nothing except losing the empathy of millions of Canadians. Have fun tomorrow on your first day of work and don't ever treat customer packages as hostages. You've become a laughing stock and a running joke for the entire country and a prime example of how greed achieves nothing.
We who live way up north don’t have malls up here! Many millions of people already spent their money and can’t afford a 8 hour trip south to go “shopping”.
small businesses? A Charter right of a union to strike as part of collective bargaining was breeched by politicians/government. I’m not saying CUPW should defy anything legal just to defy… but a charter right was breeched and NO crown corporate media is going to do even half assed journalism on that. So breaking a charter right like that for “public good” (which I don’t entirely disagree with)… must mean Canada Post is an essential service that should never have a work disruption again. So if that’s going to be, because why would any Canadian want to indirectly/directly harm another Canadian financially, maybe essential service employees can no longer strike… BUT they should never feel the “need” to do so because their: wages fell behind, their work became overburdening, and their pensions/benefits were threatened. Our politicians give themselves a pay increase each year, have insane benefit/pensions… and only work like 26 weeks out of the year… and look at the mess! The labour minister couldn’t make this CIRB decision any sooner? No one in the government thought to investigate why/how CP CUPW hasn’t had a negotiated, only arbitrated, contract in almost 20 years? cmon guys. get yer stick on the ice
I'm in a group for Canadian Online businesses and over half of them switched parcel carriers because of the strike and do not plan to return to CP. Of the rest - over half of them were already using other carriers. Those remaining are stuck because their items are small and send via lettermail of oversized letter. This group has around 10,000 members. So Kudo's CUPW you just made it that much harder for Canada Post to earn the money they need for your outrageous demands.

This is the exact reason why unions MUST be held to account. How much did this strike cost the taxpayers and to the businesses?

I will specifically choose other shipping carriers from now on.. CP doesn't care about you or your mail

They'll have to increase the volume of flyers and junk mail to make up for it....
Can I sue Canada Post for bankrupting my small home-run business?
I broke even due to shipping costs in the busiest time of the year. No big gifts for anyone in the family this year 😔
It’s OK. That happens sometimes 🤗
All that drama for nothing 😅😂 they still didn't get what they wanted
Agree or not with CP. this again shows that this government can and will do whatever they want.
