the piano is totally autumnal vibes. I noticed that it actually really helped me focus on what you are saying as well. slow music + fast talking + my own internal excitement = happy balance.
girl i love the vibes, the recommendations and literally everything. this is my first time watching one of your videos and i did while cooking dinner and loved it, now i just wish i had one of this books with me to read while having dinner. def will check out the first and last!
I'm so happy I came across your channel! I'm a huge fan of exploring lesser-known or underrated books that don't/didn't get enough attention. The only one I’ve read is The Strange Library, which I really enjoyed. Some of the books you mentioned are definitely going on my TBR list. Thanks so much for the recommendations! :)
thank you thank you thank you for this list!!!!! found about a few books that sound like true gems!!! never stop making these seasonal book rec vids!!!
Hey August! I just watched your last video that was deleted about The Master and Margarita, and I just wanted to say: I completely agree with you on the topic of introductions of books and how we are being fed of other people’s interpretations! It should be left more open, to have a freedom of our own to be able to understand, and not spoon-fed to us so much, especially the religious parts. You articulated it so beautifully! 💛 I was always thinking the same thing, and it’s so nice to see that there are other people who think the same. I could never put my thoughts into words as you did, and it meant so much to me! Well done🤗 Thats why I also love to watch you, your view of art and that you are not afraid of showing your opinion (and the cozy vlogs of course!). Keep up the good work😘
Great sounding alternative list .Don’t usually read fantasy, Magical realism and good.historical fiction, are about the only genre fiction I read but I love books that explore multiple genres in there works. Loved Sartres Nausea:exploring existentialism and Camus have read/enjoyed and really liked Frankenstein, and Wuthering heights.Reading Johnathan strange/Mr Norrell at the moment easy to read interesting and different intriguing plot. Not very challenging but that’s okay enjoying the plot and the pace.Your weird books sound great ,sort of a lateral branch of of what I usually read but think I would really like to read through your list.Thank-you so much for providing a niece alternative . Sometimes it’s good to get away from the mood /mode you’re used to,especially in reading slums. Thanks August😊
I loved Snapdragon! I added three of these books to my TBR, thank you! Tiny weird books I've enjoyed in the last year or so - When Among Crows by Veronica Roth, all five of the novellas in The Singing Hills Cycle so far by Nghi Vo, The Skull by Jon Klassen (okay, this one is an illustrated children's book), Becky Chambers Monk & Robot books (there are two, my fave was the first one), and both Lanny, and Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter.
your description of ana historic reminds me of the last sane woman by hannah regel!! similar concept of a woman who finds an archive of letters from a ceramics artist from the 70s and becomes obsessed with finding out everything she can about the woman's life and art. it was really lovely, i think you might enjoy it!! :)
I love to hear your take on books. I will be keeping an eye out for Ana Historic. I am currently reading The Witches of New York. I felt it had been on my shelf long enough. 🍂
Saw the list in the description and told myself that I wouldn't be adding them all to my tbr. Got to the end of the video and realised I had added them all to my tbr. Also can we be best friends?
someone writing whilst inside a whale...totally not weird to me lol..and that is why I come here when i need recommendations for books that suit my tastes :)

Great recs video. 📚☕🍁🍂🎃
I spent so long looking for a copy of the snow goose and it took leaving the country and getting on a boat library in London to finally find it.
I'm going to select Lacimore and Ana Historic 😊
I've been looking for Jennie by Paul Gallico for some time. I'm excited to hear about another of his books. 🙌

The scariest book I ever read (scarier than any horror or fiction novel) is a work of non-fiction called Cadillac Desert by Marc Reisner
