“Mood Lifters - A Tribute to Rush” is a Southern California Rush Tribute Band formed in 2021. The band’s focus is on the faithful recreation and performance of songs from all eras of Rush’s career, “from first to last.” Every song is on the table, and the band performs the classics and deep cuts with tremendous energy and care.
Mood Lifters are:
Rocky Kuner - vocals;
Isamu Kakitani - bass guitar, keyboards, pedals;
Ben King -- guitar;
Mat Miranda -- drums & percussion.
Each of the Mood Lifters is a lifelong fan of Rush and has played Rush’s music in other Rush tribute bands or otherwise.
Not many of us Rush fans talk much about the musical form of Red Barchetta. That is probably due to it being a story, and not a pop song structure. It has no chorus. Only verses. And I think that is why its such a fan favorite. As a result, it stands out from the crowd of contemporary music. Much like MoodLifters.

This is the favorite song. .or the favorite Rush song of a LOT of people. It could me the number 1 most favorite Rush. Probably is. . I mean. .are these super Rush fans. .casual Rush fans. .just rock music fans who grew up in the 80’s. .everyone who hears this song. . ,? I don’t, but from talk g to other people, this is it, baby.

The 2:29 mark and the all difficult tremolo bar launch. Lifeson himself never really played it like the studio recording when playing live. Nice job some fancy guitar work there.

If you like RUSH, this is a great show!!! Just saw them in Simi Valley. The drummer’s tight, the bass is booming, tasty guitar licks and Rocky’s voice is just great!!!

Awesome job! One thing I'd suggest though.... Set the high hat at least an 8th inch or maybe a quarter inch more open. Other than that, phenomenal! Love your energy and accuracy.

This performance gives me chills! You guys are awesome. Rocky, oh my, you really just get better and better. When I compare you to other vocalists out there doing Geddy you just come closer than any of them. You've got great diction and a vocal sense in your delivery that you know just where and what to enunciate. Thank you for sharing here and thank you for the great musicianship.

Thanks Herm! Current plans being tossed around involve Las Vegas, the East Coast, and perhaps Toronto. But we're not ruling anything out!
Well, Toronto would involve a 7 hour drive and crossing an international border. But I think I’d do it!

Sound is very good!! Most of the various video angles were also well done. Just felt bad for your camera person down in the crowd having to struggle with all the other phone cams . Which is all too common a problem these days . Looking forward to HOPEFULLY many more videos to come!

Get an obx, and multitrack it 16 times to emulate an Oberheim polyphonic. Where are the Taurus pedals?
I'm using ROLAND PK-5 bass pedal as midi trigger. Triggered midi signal sent to my PC, then synth audio out to the PA.
@ I have 2 mpk 130’s in an anvil case in mint condition. Rush never used pk5’s.
@@mattdelany6799 No, he is using Roland PK-5 in2000's tours. He also used Korg bass pedal in 90's too. Since bass pedal is used only for MIDI trigger, Built In audio sound is not needed. That's the reason why Mood Taurus is not needed.
@ Geddy’s keyboard tech has been a friend for 15 years. Ask him about Taurus 1 vs. samples, or a little phatty vs. a minimoog. They never used the pk5. Jack said they were too complicated. They used a mpk 130. Nothing sounds as good as the Moog Taurus 1. I have 4.

What's the issue? Sounds good on our end.
The drums mostly. Lacks definition and compression, sounds muddy to me. But if you did that intentionally that's fine. It's subjective.
@@watchmakerfs Thanks for your input. We wanted a strong bottom-end presence on this, which I think we achieved. We could have done more high-passing but there are trade offs and we like some thumping here!

Band is great, but I just can’t get into the vocals, it just seems like there is something missing. The singer has a phenomenal voice, just not for a Rush song (Most cannot reach the uniqueness of Geddy’s voice). Great cover over all 🙏
