I made the definitive tier list of all of the kill team tier lists. And this Kill Team tier list is the only S tier.

Vet Guard in D tier?? The absolute most fun team?? I will not stand for this slander against my beloved gas mask bois!
Sure you have a lot of bodies to manage but that's usually not a problem after TP2 because they die so quickly. They are so simple and straightforward to play, almost half your models are just sacrificial pieces with lasguns and maybe a special ability or two. Basically no melee so no complicated thinking about parrying vs striking. You just go Into The Breach and Move Move Move on the first turning point to grab all the VPs you can while rushing up the board, then Take Aim + Overcharge Lasguns to give everyone dangerous shooting. The demo vet is literally the most fun model in the game, and so easy to use. Just give it +1 APL after it activates on TP1 so it can charge a high value model or two on TP2 and get a near-guaranteed kill, or force your opponent to completely avoid a huge area of the board. So many great killing pieces with 3 awesome gunners, sniper, demo, leader w/ plasma pistol. Hardened veteran (esp. with the single-use Just a Scratch from the rosary) is annoyingly hard to kill, park him on an objective and force your opponent to waste activations shooting him. Every time your opponent targets a guardsmen and fails to get the kill, you're that much closer to winning. None of their rules are especially complicated, especially now that the spotter has been nerfed so you can basically leave it at home to take all the gunners you want. They were in the starter set for a reason, just move, shoot, trade, and win. Sure positioning 14 models optimally is pretty challenging, but as you said they're very forgiving if you screw up and lose a few of them to a blast or whatever. And then there's In Death Atonement, one of the best tac ploys in the game! You killed my melta gunner before he got a chance to kill your favorite model? Lol he gets to do a full activation and he's not even injured, say goodbye to your leader.

I've never played with or against warp coven, but every time they're on this channel its the only team I see where I'm just constantly asking "why are you doing that" or "why are you not doing this" Watching him waste all his CP on rerolls with the team with some the most impactful ploys and abilities is just painful. Plus when it played it against mandrakes the other guy just got a bunch of rules wrong that heavily favored the mandrakes.
I think it would be beneficial for new players if you flashed a picture of each army the first time they are mentioned! As a new comer watching this I know it would be a nice addition
The mini picture on the list can make it harder for new 40k fans to get an idea of what they look like
We don't technically know it is over officially, but yeah, looks like KT3 is starting up soon. I am also completely here for ending things with a last match of KT2 with your two favorite teams going head to head.

In cults You choose mutation twice. All mutants and torments get 1st mutation, torments 2nd. No need to track each models mutation! You can use CP to give models individual mutation but thats rather gotcha moment with sudden wings to catch some guy feeling safe;)

I got to semi-agree regarding Vet-Guard except if you manage to make one thing happen:
1. Also like Kommandos and want to get Kommandos
2. Be able to get the Octarius Starter Set including Kommandos and Vet-Guard
In this case, most of the downsides of Vet-Guard just go away, sure, you might still need to buy an 'additional' box but with that additional box, you're fine and the first box actually got you 2 teams. One downside that still stays: They're a bloody pain to put together if you don't have tiny baby fingers
Gotta agree with Hearthkyn. They have so many useful options when list building, great equipment (with potentially 15 EP), great gunners (all of which are viable depending on the matchup), and great ploys and abilities which really lean into playing Security. Oh, and boosting the jump pack warrior 13" to grab a back objective your opponent thought was safe is great.
I agree I find the list building one of the most aspects to the game. Warpcoven is my favorite team and I recently picked up Inquisitorial agents. I’m excited to play them! The box is prob the worst kill team box deal, I picked up a box and a box of Cawdor Redemptionists and kitbashed them all together to make all the models.

Novitiates are my all time favorite team to play followed by Nemesis Claw and then Farstalker Kinband.

You should release a video that has the factions matched to the opening theme music ya'll composed. Lot of cool tracks for this edition of the game. Arbites, Hand of the Archon, and Starstriders are the stand outs imo
my problem with intercession squad is that you have to buy two boxes for the weapons .

I am hoping Grey Knights get some love in next edition with a fun bespoke team. Teleporting interceptors would be amazing.
Phobos are so fun to play, you can literally role-play with this team.
I mean, the Reiver flexes his biceps in front of enemies just to steal the objective and bully the opponent.
The Minelayer places a Mine at the feet of the opponent and if he moves he explodes, so it works like a whisper of death.
The Marksman going Track Target from Conceal can shoot during opponent action time as a Surprise Motherfuker moment.
Every Phobos operative can sneak from the darkness, kill the enemy and disappear in a smoke cloud.
The Saboteur can jam the comms of the enemy, place a detonation charge and selfdestruct to obliterate a group of enemies (usually survives thanks to the 3+ save, the opponent dies into pieces)
The Medic keeps the buddies alive just with a slap in their face to regain control after a plasma shot blasted the other operative.
And finally, if you equip a Reiver with Grav-chute + Grappling gun, you instantly acquire Batman in your team (it also has Terror as ability).
They are the best!
As a player who enjoys Elucidian Starstriders the most I can confirm that this video is in fact 100% objectively correct, gotta love that space laser 👌
You forgot an important detail about Salvagers: the doser and his silly knuckles is the best model in killteam.
You nailed the issue with Kroot on the head. We want to love Kroot because Kroot are great but the kill team we have now is just terrible. The only reason anyone likes them at all is pure copium of wanting to like Kroot. I’m one of them. I have the models but I just can’t be bothered to ever actually play this team. They need a hard rework like hierotek got back in the day. They’re absolutely a shadow realm team until something changes. Thankfully everything points towards vespids coming and that will satisfy my desire for weird alien team.
I've been thinking about getting into KT, and I want to get the Kroot because their models are sooo cool, but I don't want to play an army that isn't fun 😥. But I also like the Starstriders, so maybe that would be a better place to start, even if they are harder to get the hang of.
@@iank1419 another popular killteam TH-camr Glass Half Dead recently did a tier list focused on how good and fun teams are for new players to pick up. He described Kroot as a glass pillow team because they break as easily as glass and hit as hard as pillows. On top of that they’re not a simple team either and it just makes the worst new player experience possible. I’d recommend looking it up if you want more advice on other good for beginner teams.

Mandrakes are a nightmare against Hearthkyn as your 3+ saves are wrecked and the dwarves die very quickly.

Good vid, only hard disagree was Blades of Khaine. Playing mixed with 3 banshees, 3 scorps, and 2 dire avengers is so much fun. Scorpions using super conceal one turn into mortal wound move tp2. Banshees flying into fight or screaming indirect to catch people off guard. Making technique decisions is a lot of fun, I only wish the dire avengers and exarch were buffed and a few small thematic changes would be great. 3+ saves on scorps, 5++ invulns, maybe allow 2 techniques for that aspect if you have 5 that way you don’t have to buy 10 banshees to get that capability.
You know I think I generally agree with a lot of that! I was just so excited at the prospect of a season-starting Craftworld bespoke team and the box itself felt like a bit of a let down.

Absolutely hate playing against the Corsairs (probably because I play death guard).
I love hierotek, but they always feel either a little bit too slow or too anything. You never really feel like you can get ahead without using crazy combos. And woth the nerfs its even worse.
I get the nerfs because they can be crazy, but im not good enough to use them to their full potential

Man I dunno if I suck or what but I sadly have never had fun and have never won with the gellerpox and they are my fav. Mostly play on Bheta decima I dunno if that's got anything with it.
Of course my opinion is wrong because you guys were 100% right, butt brood bros has been unfun to play against whenever my opponent uses the Magus or Primus. The magus especially is frustrating due to it's ability to delete 8hp models from conceal with no effort. The team in general has so many tools it just feels like pushing a boulder up a hill. I'd stick them In C right along with Pathfinder and Necrons. Fun to play as, but unfun to play against.

Honestly, I hope that they make a Killteam 3rd Edition (or 2024 or whatever we'd call it) while keeping all the Bespoke teams being reworked and the rules being reworded.
The rules themselves are mostly good, but they needed an extra double pass through the editors. So many are just so poorly worded it took binging all ya'll's videos to figure out how the game was supposed to be played!

Yea you have to assume nobody knows who the teams are and at least give a brief description and pop a picture up of the team itself. New players/builders take vids like this as gospel
