Eeeehhhh i dunno man.....when i think of melodeath, i think of insomnium...and belakor....depressing, or haunting.... There is alot of melody here, but i class this band as just sheer, raw death metal. Right there with Amon Amarth and the like. This isnt...dreary enough imo.

The name of the song is Seventh Swamphony. I wouldn't be surprised if that's suppose to be a reference to Beethoven 7th Symphony. It also would explain the neoclassical feeling.
Yeah, you can tell the Finns have a soft spot for Randy Rhoads and neoclassical metal. It's part of the reason, (the other being the resurgence in Finnish hockey) that Finland is this Americans favorite country.

Back in the day when I used to use Limewire/Frostwire, is how I found them, The Black Dahlia Murder's cover of Paint It Black was what introduced me into Melodeath (or heavier genre's in general)
I remember how I found these guys. I was in an AOL instant messanger chat room and I was talking about how much I liked Children of Bodom, and some random stranger told me to look up Kalmah and Norther. So, I downloaded some songs from limewire and never looked back. Thanks random AIM chat room man from 2004.

Tei Strlekar it will be the first tour they ever do in Canada I believe. And looking back I also see they've never toured the US. I think they've picked up steam with the last two records. They just did some sold out shows in Japan.

Kalmah's music videos are awesome, they're so much more than the typical video set to a song, the video actually goes along with the music - it speeds up when a fast riff comes along and slows down when there's a less aggressive part. The video adds to the music, which is how it should be.
I live in a very cold legion and I hunt a lot with my friends and we always listen to Kalmah, what a fucking great band. We love their music and lyrics is superb!

Insomnium, Be'lakor, Stormlord, Wintersun, Dissection, and kalmah are my favourites. There are so many good metal bands these days though, but a lot more that I'm not really into. Half the fun is just listening to everything until you find something that blows your mind.
