As someome who's probably seen 95% of the Oilers games in the last 10 years, this Oilers team is playing at about 70% of their capability. They have tons of room for improvement.
Ever since Jim Hiller has taken over as being a coach he’s had the best home record in the league since then. He has to be in the conversation for coach of the year if kings keep this up. Also GO KINGS GO!

I'm very happy with how Vegas is playing. It might be nice to see them not give up the first goal so often, but even when it happens, I'm at a point where I'm not all that concerned. It's nice to see the strength of schedule favors Vegas, but I always think there are no easy games. I would be highly amused at another Edmonton / Los Angeles first round matchup.
At the start of the season it didn't feel good watching them lose the first goal but felt better when they would make the come back win. Now it's not even a big deal watching them start from behind, other than to watch the opposing team's fans shock and horror when that first goal doesn't mean much 😂
We just didn’t know it would be due to locker room issues between JT Miller and Elias Petterson if they didn’t have them it’s a completely different team. Elias Petterson with JT Miller 11 points in 22 games. Elias Petterson without JT Miller 17 points in 10 games 140 points pace.
@@sst6601 Idk I read it somewhere on Twitter that he was on a 120 point pace without Miller so my numbers are inaccurate for that reason I’ll just get rid of the numbers it was actually a 140 points pace 17 points in 10 games so even better.
Hi Shannon! There seems to be a strip of blue LED lights reflected pretty strongly on your whiteboard. It also appears to cause the blue lettering to "pop" in a distracting way. You might want to swap it out for a more neutral colour light or one that doesn't emphasize your marker colours so much. Definitely following along with all the tiny text as you go through it. The 4 teams chasing them have “tougher” schedules because they have play all the top 3 teams. The better teams largely have “easier” schedules because they don’t play themselves.
VGK may have the easier remaining schedule of the 3 but they still gotta win those games. Teams considered bottom feeders have been playing really well as of late and VGK has lost games they should have won. Still lots of hockey left but this will be a fun race to the finish for top spot in the Pacific and I wouldn’t count Vancouver out too if they can get going again
canucks superstars beside hughes are not showing up rn so can't say im upset to be left out of this, my hope is that we can still make it in the playoffs at this point honestly...
I probably wasn´t as high about Canucks as many were after last season. But they have survived Demkos injuries, JT Millers absence, Boeser was out 7 games. Still they are in playoff spot and only couple of points behind these teams... Surviving these struggles I would say the team has lot of upside.
I said it before the season started and I am standing by it. LA is winning the cup and Edmonton will fail to make the playoffs. Feel free to come after me in June if I am wrong.
Oilers failing to make the playoffs sounds like hopium to me. The stage after copium which was the off season after 3rd consecutive knock out. You’ll get better. Time heals all.
Vegas is a step ahead of the other two. Second best points percentage in the league with the hardest schedule to date, sub par goaltending, and defense that is far below where they should be/have been in recent years with the same guys. It's their division to lose.
@ I didn’t say they won’t lose it, I said it’s theirs to lose. It’s not going to haunt me if they do lol, anything can happen. Doesn’t change anything I said
On the flip side, the offense has been running hot. This should even out. By that measure, the Kings should improve with Doughty, especially the PP. The only team I think is weaker this season is the Oilers. I think this is the year the Kings actually beat them, as long as they have home ice.
Can you please touch base with a LOCKED ON pundit called Harrison Lee and do a vid on how the entire Jets success is an illusion? It’s 99% Helly. Thank you 🙏
They have scored more goals than anyone in the league as of this moment. When you have both a world class goaltender and score the most goals, you are doing pretty well.
I honestly feel they’ll perform the worst of these 3. Vegas and Kings just feel way more well rounded and consistent. However the Oilers seem to counter the kings so well I can see them beating them again
Vancouver is 4-6 in their last 10 though which is important context. Edmonton had a really bad start again, yet are now ahead of the Canucks and are continuing to trend in the right direction, whereas the Canucks are floundering a bit.
With the exception of Florida the Oilers have also beaten all the league's best teams recently, and Florida was def a winnable game. Vancouver aint having that same success atm
@ I agree Vancouver is far from perfect, but I’m just saying dominating is a strong word. Edmonton has some holes in their team as well. Vancouvers have just been exposed moreso as of late. The same thing was going on in Edmonton last season.
@@tequila6306 do remind me, how many times have they won the Stanley cup during my life time, 1993 onwards? With all those first picks it's a disgrace.
Los Angeles having the potential to go against Edmonton for a FOURTH year in a row is just so dumb and funny.
What’s funnier is that every year Edmonton has won the series by 1 less game. 7, then 6, then 5. So do we see a sweep this time ? 😂
@@obi-wankenobigoat Lol maybe XD

Don’t forget, they’ve been playing without Drew Doughty with top defense in the league.
