You gave me a very "apples to apples" comparison, a great off-road video and a video with some beautiful scenery. This was the TFL Trifecta! Thanks for starting my day off the right way!
This was wholesome and everything I asked for with tommy and kase Friendship togetherness. And teamwork This means a lot to me. Thank you guys. Also tommy hope the two door jeep you have is doing well. I hope you did not get rid of it. love you guys a lot keep up the awesome work

ORO makes an air suspension for the JK and JL. There just wasnt enough real life feedback to convince me to buy one. I love the automatic ride heights on the highway and auto level when at campgrounds. Good to see other companies offer this.
I wish Jeep would make seats as nice as Ford did with the Bronco. So glad to hear about the updates to their present platform, but hope they give us BETTER SEATS. Still holding off buying one.
Pretty sure the folks at Accuair loaned you the red Rubicon for the Summer? So you did not really "put air suspension on your Wrangler" as per the title? Words matter, friends. Great video tho, amazing the difference an inch can make. (That's what SHE said lol)
Great comparison, thank you for taking the time to put this video together… I love that air suspension system, seems like the perfect option for those that want a lifted Jeep to maneuver around/over obstacles while still being able to park in your garage.
@@wipandcolooks like it was produced by “The Fast Lane Car” not the manufacturer of the air suspension system… But everyone’s entitled to their opinions.

Really great video, Guys, enjoyed watch your trek up a rugged mountain. Both Jeeps are incredible, but that air suspension is amazing, Jeep should consider adding it to the options list! My wife has a '22 392 Wrangler and she absolutely loves it. Me, I've got just the wimpy 3.6 V6 Rubicon Gladiator and, as much as I like it, come on jeep, give us the 392 in a Gladiator!
If you look at the RAM 1500 configurator on the official RAM ordering site then you can see that upgrading from the V6 to the 5.7L V8 HEMI is less than $3,000 (I know it’s 5.7 not 6.4 but it’s a V8). Considering that the 6.4 can’t be more than maybe $4,000 more than the V6 pentastar. And they still make money on it. The $30,000 is a total ripoff from the factory. Their profit margin is probably $25,000 on the engine upgrade alone! Plus another $30,000 probably on the rest of the Jeep. Pretty healthy profit margins right there.
Really wish you guys would talk about the T case on the 392. It's 2.72:1 vs the 4:1 on the v6/4cyturbo (4xe also the 2.72:1) that makes a huge difference off road when crawling. in addition, it's a clutch pack and they're breaking down at 30k miles. Jeep didn't really build the 392 to off road (the clutch pack and t-case..which is there because they didn't want to spend the money to install dana 60 axles on which is necessary to run 2HI with 470HP) and look at that exhaust and shock tower mounts! The whole thing was a way to grab cash to sell more compass crap.
I think the 392 can’t tow as much is because of two things - cooling capacity and AWD transfer case. Part of the tow rating test is for the engine to stay cool up a 11.4 mile 5% grade on a 100 deg day. If the engine can’t cool enough, rating is reduced. Same reason a diesel Gladiator had a lower tow rating than the V6.
may I suggest investing in Thors Lightning for airing down and up faster and more consistently. I have been using it for awhile (and just did red cone yesterday!) and it’s worth every penny.
As awesome as these are here's my problem. The powertrains. The 392 is crazy expensive and more than likely will never get used like this. The turbo 4 & Pentastar are OK but when you get 35's on them, you'll be wanting more power. Not everyone will want the 4xe and these get spendy too. BTW this was great vid and I wish you'd do more runs on this trail.
Agreed, in the Rams the upgrade from V6 to the 5.7 V8 is approximately $2500. That would be plenty more engine at an acceptable price and Im sure it would be a very popular option in the Jeeps.
I had the 2.0 Turbo i4 in my 2019 JL on 37s before I bought my 2023 392(also on 37s) and I thought it did fantastic here in Colorado. Plenty of power, and great MPG for a Jeep with a 3.5" lift and 37s. I had the opportunity to run up the Ike a few times with it and it was by far the best vehicle I have driven up both sides of it with. That being said, I haven't driven my 392 out there yet, so the jury is out on that one. I do I love the power and the way the 392 sounds though so I think for me it will be king... :)
Which is better for Colorado trails??? I’m looking to buy a new Jeep, but debating between a 4 door with 35’s or a 2 door with 33’s. I like the shorter wheelbase of a 2 door, but I’m wondering if a tail like Red Cone will be better with the clearance of 35’s.
Colorado is easy, either are fine. 4 door with 35s is equivalent to what I can do with a 2 door with 33s. However, my Jeep Liberty on 29s could still do most of Colorado’s trails including red cone. It’d just be a little harder, but it’s really easy in a wrangler.
Very interesting, but am surprised a dinosaur solid axle has better articulation than an independent suspension. Any particular reason why this is true?
TL; DR IFS is limited by pivot throw length in a way axels are not. IFS is simply limited in articulation due to throw length of the pivot point. You can make it longer to compensate for this (see RCLT HD) but then it starts cutting into the advantage of IFS in the first place: on road handling. A solid axel has much great throw length due to the length and since it’s solid, you can do giant (4+ inches defined here) lifts that IFS just can’t do without expensive and extensive modifications. It’s often cheaper and easier to convert an IFS vehicle to a front solid axel instead of doing those modifications.
IFS was never put on 4x4s for off-road performance, it was to make them better ON road. One of the reasons the solid axle works so well is that as one wheel is pushed up, the opposite wheel is pushed down. Some IFS systems work better than others, from watching a lot of these videos. It looks like the Bronco IFS flex is more than say a Toyota IFS, but neither will ever come close to the articulation of a solid axle. Once you start modding them, the differences become even greater. I'll just add to this that purpose built off-road vehicles and UTV type. Things are an exception to this, since they do not need to have any compromises made for on-road performance. An IFS system on something like a Baja truck has basically nothing in common with the IFS on the front of say a Tacoma.
I don't understand why people say Red Cone is so scary. I didn't think it was anything bad at all, another day in the stock JLUR. Keep driving a little further and go over to Radical Hill and then ride Red Cone again. The first time I ran Red Cone, everyone told me, "it's so steep and scary coming down, ahhhh you're gonna die! 4-Lo it's so scary!" We got down the hill and I said, "was that it or are we not there yet?"
The new grille designs are cool but it would also be cool to have a metallic version of this 2024 jeep wrangler grille similar to jeep wrangler 2023 grilles.
37 inch tires would give a similar advantage without adding the complexity and failure points of an air suspension. I'm a fan of bigger tires and less lift should equal clearance with stability. I've driven multiple Wranglers with the 4cyl turbocharged motor and in my opinion it's the best engine option for performance/value. The only downside is it can't be had with a manual transmission.

i also like the comparison, but i'm never, ever going to put some complicated air suspension on a jeep--it will fail, right when you dont want it to. anyone else think putting 'trick' anything on an off roader is a terrible idea?
Jeep customers : it’s too slow needs power why can’t they give the option of more power just incase ???
Jeep : ok here is a 392 .
Jeep customers : I really don’t like this much power on trails I’m trying to be nimble on !
Jeep : 🤦♂️🤬
🤣 true
Toyota owners: Aren't you going to make something beside a 4.0 v6?..
Toyota: It's what we have, be grateful
Toyota owners: Yes mom...
