Poor Cure, he has some cool builds in all match ups and executes them well but losing that CC was harsh. The last game where landed vikings dealt damage on both sides and ultimately decided the game was hilarious. Final G1 was so back and forth. Maru did so much early on but the 2 bane hits on the left and right killed so much momentum. The subsequent runbys killing 25+ scvs also forced Maru to push or die. Is it Ghosts or is it Maru? Seems like in ZvT once a big ball of Ghosts is made, Zerg just doesn't have a counter unless Terran messes up, which in GSL they typically don't. Or they're very far ahead and can base trade.
You say only twice this year as if theres been more than two this year.. And what about the world tournament? Serral is doing what maru used to do now. I mean honestly, how does a zerg even win in that last game? Maru did no significant damage to dark early on, Dark uses zerg to the best of its ability, trades evenly for the most part, and you could still see the writing on the wall 10 min before the ending
It's simple - the block is from fighting a champion. In the GSL, Maru is simply on another tier. Innovation at his best wasn't this dominant. MVP was great but still inspire fear and despair. Maybe only Flash in SC1 has a similar dominance.
Does the Mutalisk even exist in Korea? It's the one unit that is supposed to shut down endless drops and keep the terran from simply turtling up, maxing out, and plastering the map in PFs, tanks, and ghosts that you have no hope winning a war of attrition against. Is the Mutalisk that bad where Zerg just goes roach every game, or does it just seem that way because Dark was the only viable non-terran this tournament? (lol where was Rogue?) I don't have any ideas for Protoss. They seem utterly hopeless.
Ghost is just a hard counter for anything. No protoss unit can match it. Basically any zerg unit is free kill whenever there are ghosts around. Lings, banes, roaches, mutas and hydras are soft counters but we all know whenever there are engagements, these units can be easily hard countered by marines and tanks, put rauders into the mix and you have a cheap frontline damage soaker.
Broodlord infestor with good control is the counter. Dark tried it in the last game, but had horrendous control. No detection at one point, infestors all in a ball for maximal EMP effectiveness, terrible infestor positioning when using neural. He honestly looked really out of practice, but when played properly the ghosts can never get close enough to snipe, and you neural all the Thors and roll over the rest of the army.
@@space_orphan yeah, in late games, But if you are talking about Serral control, it's pretty much impossible for anybody. And with the Jan 2023 patch where Ghosts were weakened in late games, but deadly in early mid game just like a tier 2 unit doing tier 3 abilities, any pros can rush to produce five or more to tip the game in their favor. Brood, festors and vipers are at least 20mins gametime units
State shouted himself raw this semis and finals. Shoutout to the new casting archon (based in Korea), State has been doing such a great job. Gotta pace yourself a bit though, or you'll be without a voice every season!
It's more than the maps. If ypu look away from the minimap for just 2 seconds, a medivac with some mines will kill 15 probes in a mineral line. So you have to be extremely aware all the time. Protoss was even nerfed in the last balance patch.
Dark kept his banelings in the back every single fight, the banelings were always the last units to go in. Dark sure plays a lot, practices a lot but his style of play feels very mindless. He is on auto pilot mode and makes the same mistake repeatedly. 12 years ago, NesTea would break Terran defenses with banelings spearheading the attacks then clean up the leftover with more valuable units. This finalist kept his banelings at the every back every single fight.

Dark is MY Daddy!
Proud of you Dad. Always making all of us happy and giving us hope.
dark is my son
They really need to address the terran favored map imbalance next season.
It's more than the maps. If ypu look away from the minimap for just 2 seconds, a medivac with some mines will kill 15 probes in a mineral line.
So you have to be extremely aware all the time. Protoss was even nerfed in the last balance patch.
Maru's current style reminds me of peak Polt hahaha
Dark kept his banelings in the back every single fight, the banelings were always the last units to go in. Dark sure plays a lot, practices a lot but his style of play feels very mindless. He is on auto pilot mode and makes the same mistake repeatedly. 12 years ago, NesTea would break Terran defenses with banelings spearheading the attacks then clean up the leftover with more valuable units. This finalist kept his banelings at the every back every single fight.
"if Dark wins its going to to 5 maps" LOL Dark said hold my beer you got smoked with that comment
2 liberators and 2 vikings in Gumi’s game 1 would have been better than thors numbers 5 and 6, the starport was just sitting there
why are the casters in a separate room?
