State did a great job in every tournament so far and is taking over from Artosis seamlessly. But also props to Tasteless who seems like such a nice and chill dude who is very easy to have a good time with.
This is honestly one of the CRAZIEST finals I have ever seen absolutely insane gameplay. Thanks to the cast and players for making such an amazing GSL!
Maru is the GoaT. The way he systematically eats up the map as if he were 'the swarm,' ,In game 5 he basically had enough orbitals in the last 5 mins of the game to sack all of his SCVs for more supply room for attack units, and use mules alone (besides gas) to harvest his entire economy. I was rooting for Cure cause I almost always go for the underdog. Maru has like half of all GSL championships in the SC2 era tho so yeah, he is undeniably the goat.

Its been such a staple thing in my life to watch GSLand other Starcraft Tournaments i fear the moment when GSL, SC2 Tournaments in general and finaly SC2 servers will shut down.

Jesus that was honestly one of the BEST TvT series of all time. Among all the mirror match ups, TvT is by far the most enjoyable one to watch. The way you got to position your tanks and constantly out move your opponent is just something to admire and watch. Great games from both players damn.
Maru is a master. That build where he force cure into a losing position was amazing. His defense on Babylon was epic, reminds me his long and late game TvZs

TvT is just not fun to play. The smallest advantages can create huge leads and that makes it exciting, and the defenders advantage is so good that nobody is ever out of the game. Exciting for pro play and to watch, but playing it is hell.

@@Momo-96 I think both players have a strong claim, however the fact that Maru has never won a World Championship is definitely a pretty big point against him. The main claim for Maru is his 6 GSL titles (8 StarLeagues), which it's tough to compare Serral against. Easiest way to compare the two is prize money, which is very close with Serral having 4% more. Rogue's claim I think is slighly worse, but still somewhat viable. He's won slightly less money than Maru (about 8% less), but he HAS won 3 world championships (2x Katowice, 1x Blizzcon) and 4 GSL titles. The biggest reason I don't consider him as good as Maru and Serral is his poor consistency. He only ever made 5 GSL Semi-finals (winning 4 of them), whereas Maru has made 14. And looking at Blizzcon/Katowice, Maru actually has more top 8 appearances than Rogue, even though he hasn't won. He has been consistenly at/near the top for longer. For these reasons I think Maru overall has a better claim to GOAT status than Rogue, but it's really close between him and Serral, and tough to compare. The biggest thing that hurts Serral's claim is his ZvZ weakness and the fact that he drops random series to lower ranked players more often (Clem comes to mind, Ragnarok at last Katowice, Bunny at Atlanta last year). Maru has always been extremely solid and consistent in EVERY matchup, and basically only ever loses to other top-ranked players (only exception in recent memory was Oliveira at Katowice)

But should he have tried for Code S back in 2018, he may have proven that he could win it multiple times (more than G6L). So no, sorry not close. At least by comparing counts of how many championships he has won where Koreans are not banned from joining. Ive been a fan since Wings of Liberty beta. This was the best TvT finals I've ever seen. I was quite disappointed by the prospect of a TvT finals after the Ro8 concluded. Boy was i presently surprised.
What you mean you have never seen it before? Maru is an expert in this for years now. Thats why they nerfed the Raven late game trying to force Maru out from that.
After watching the other TH-camrs cover the finals, I gotta say that the professional observer and the casting here are a tier above. I love the TvT Sky Terran battles, that progression tasteless mentioned from bio-tank to tank-viking siege battles is just really cool to watch, feels like real battles
this game and this tournament needs to be kept alive, any way possible. It simply is too great to end. And we can see that it still gets plenty of views, so it's just a question of funding the prize pools.

Both players cried after the last GG. Pretty emotional moment considering the Korean sc2 scene is ending or at least winding down this year. It’s a great run what all the players and GSL were able to accomplish after the dissolution of ProLeague.

This was a great final and best game of this season. Other matches were great as well. And generally, this last day sure reminded me why I love GSL and why it's a tournament I never missed. It's that's much better when it's offline... sigh. ... spoiler Grats to Maru on his six win. He really deserved it. Cure played really good and some of his play was as good as Maru but then there were parts where his other "stats" were only good, where Maru is Godlike in all aspects of the game. But still those games were really good, there were no repeats and Maru won in a different style every single time! Like wow. In any case at worst there are just 2 more GSL... and well Maru is on his second win, so there is still enough time to repeat 4-wins in the row! Though hopefully GSL manages to continue on. I can complain about it not being online but I still happy that it's still happening even in it's reduced form. (OH! I reached the end news...)

Probably my favorite finals ever in SC2. So many builds. Every game was different. Both players playing incredible. I was sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time. Cure was amazing, and Maru is still the best player in the world IMO.
Think the semis and the final need to be on different days. For the simple reason of not being able to promote a Finals matchup, and another is you can't even label the video of the final with the 2 players that are playing in it.
I dreamed of this 6SL before it even happened 😎 , S2 (*OFFLINE once more👌🏼) is going to be even more historic. I hope Maru beats EVERY player in the world to win Gamers8/GWOB.. Then returns like the absolute next-level GOAT he is, to win GS7.
cure was ridiculously clean. i struggle to think of another terran that could have survived those games 4, 5, & 6 against him. other than maru, maybe top form rogue and serral could have survived how he played that series?

Spoiler alert... The only time Maru sheds a tear in all his career is when he wins his 6th, and also the last GSL possibly. Long live the king, and long live the only 6SL holder. This is the GOAT. If there is a 7th GSL, will they name it GS7? He has entered Michael Jordan territory of greatness and dominance, and even MJ never won 4 straight at any point.

cure was ridiculously clean. i struggle to think of another terran that could have survived those games 4, 5, & 6 against him. other than maru, maybe top form rogue and serral could have survived how he played that series?

The only time Maru sheds a tear in all his career is when he wins his 6th, and also the last GSL possibly. Long live the king, and long live the only 6SL holder. This is the GOAT. If there is a 7th GSL, will they name it GS7? He has entered Michael Jordan territory of greatness and dominance, and even MJ never won 4 straight at any point.
That's not true. I remember he cried when his mother and little sister were there to support him on one of his earlier tournament wins (Think it was Proleague)
