back in 2005 when the title bonjwa was given to players who could dominate for 3 titles, and then 15 years later, flash is still around kicking ass, and the word bonjwa just seem frivolous compared to what he has achieved
Flash is the best Terran, best BW player, best gamer ever in the history (of everything). What a fantastic way to end his official run. Flash is about to go to the army, and he's having some serious shoulder injuries, the doctors told him to stop playing immediately. He completed his BW years with this 10th title, what more can be said? The guy is forever a legend. All the next 'strongest' players of the future will always wonder if they're ever as strong as Flash is right now.
@@89turbomk3 yeah but that's what's cool about flash NaDa was as successful, and maybe more dominant, but the game was different back then (as opposed to 2010 - now) Flash had to deal with effort, jaedong, bisu, and stork, etc. etc. and still is the most successful out of all of these top tier legendary pros who played at the same time

I keep coming back to this match year after year. It's such a classic, not just for the dominance, but for the incredible high level play--Snow was laser focused and this close to victory at multiple points, but Flash showed his stuff, and he came out on top. It's a 7 game series inside of a 4 game sweep, or at least it feels like it just watching them duke it out. (That and Artosis can come watch this anytime he feels sad about Snow clowning him haha)
Games 2 and 3 were masterpieces by Flash. The fact that in G2 he held off those recalls and marched across the map and punched Snow right in the mouth was impressive. And G3, when he was caught off guard and still recovered ... incredible.
Incredible games, for sure. I keep coming back, too! I haven't played BW seriously since 2011, and that was a brief return after about 6 years off. But so compelling to watch!

Its a lot of little things. A big thing for me is unit management. the pathing issues that may annoy some, and only selecting 12 units at a time give the game added nuance and difficulty. Starcraft II fixed those things, which was logical. But the game turned in to the "death ball" and made battle tactics a lot less interesting. BW forever!
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Flasheus The Terran? I thought not. It’s not a story the protoss would tell you. It’s a marine legend. Flash was a Dark Lord of the ASL, so powerful and so wise he could use the SCVs to influence the SCVs to create depots... He had such a knowledge of the game mechanics that he could even keep terran units he cared about from dying. The dark side of the ladder is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... The only thing he was afraid of was getting drafted, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught artosis everything he knew, then artosis killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
Flash is the GOAT! Been watching him play for 12 years now, it's bittersweet watching what will be likely his last final, but what a way to end a decade of dominance. It will be a long time (if ever) before another Terran can play like he does.
Why would it be his last final? I feel like he wouldn't want to let others surpass him. Has he mentioned he would be giving up? I know he was in the army, so clearly he was very rusty and at a major disadvantage when coming back.

smacking my hands together like a kid on a sugar rush over the first game, Flash murdered upwards of 40 probes before the 15 minute mark. Besides one or two runbys with only a couple vultures, every squad he sent out killed 5+ probes, just incredible stuff.

Because every cannon you build you're slowing yourself in macro and tech..pros try to fend off drops using units if possible rather than static defenses..what makes you think they didn't thought of making cannons

Snow already put several dragoon’s at his base but flash just run in with vultures ignoring dragoon’s firing and killing probes every time, so did cannons, flash will just ignore them. What snow needs to defend his probe is to wall up the entrance at his neutral and 3rd base, but he does not have that many minerals to put that many pylons

I think he is like a god of starcraft and there will never be a player like him in Starcraft. Do you know if it is possible to see him playing live in 2022 ? na i think the point was that since snow was getting so utterly recked, make it seem closer than it was, the cast would be pretty boring if in the finals of the biggest sc tourney tastosis is like "yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup, its over" at the 8 min mark or smt, as a caster u have to make the game interesting and close games are always more interesting especially when theres an underdog story and ur already pretty sure flash is gonna win, well, because flash
starcraft 2 is just blob vs blob, no unit control, it has usually a more interesting spell system but thats the only thing it has going for it, battles are just blob, no real micro of single units except for spells and buildings are made of paper and get destroyed straight away so there is no strategical decision making in smaller to mid size base battles.
"More interesting spell system" I'd even argue against that. Sure the spells are better on paper, but the ability to cast them so easily without restraint is the reason why players would just mass spell-casters in lategame.
In that moment Flash doesnt have any player who counter him. Nevertheless, this year Im watching flash getting beaten up by many players, snow included.

For me, its the sound design and the death animations that are so satisfying. Game feels gritty in the best way.

In SC2 ther are 2 Zergs in finals. BW has 1 Terran vs. 1 Protos. Sounds like BW is more ballanced.
