As I always got by on the bare minimum of builds for my ships for bounty hunting I never got into the grind for Guardian or Engineer tech. While I gave a thargoid teabag a run for it's money for a while in my Cobra it just didn't cut the mustard in the end. Currently wainting for my asp to follow through on your instructions. May the cosmic winds always steer you true CMDR o7.

NOTE on Gather Guardian Items: "Dealing with Sentinels" It is Possible to drive around BEFORE starting the Timed Sequence so you can find the Pylon Locations AND Active/Destroy the Sentinels. You will still get 2 Sents that spawn on Initial Terminal Activation. However, if done correctly none will show up as you Activate the Pylons (at which point you are given a Timer). There will be another small wave when the final Terminal Interaction takes place. It's not much, but it helps reduces the Timed-Pressure.
Never thought of doing it any other way, since you want to locate them all first anyway, and from ruin to ruin, they have different locations. I think its super easy, but I really hate those that are located on a planet with permanent night on the side of the Guardian site... Night vision is annoying...

crazy how i just found this video and that ending screen pic is actually one of my pics i took on my first trip to sag a in 2017. dont know how it ended up here but i just think its cool that i see this pic in a video so many years later :D. of course i dont have proof that its my pic since i lost it with my old pc. i did post it in some ed discord so prob found its way around the internet from there.
Maybe a stupid question. Can I have a friend in the air to shoot down the sentinels? Or maybe just a friend or two on the ground to speed up the pylon parts?
Something i have noticed is that some Sentinels spawn by just approaching the spires beforehand, the ones that did spawn when approached were the outside ones, while the 3 in the middle part didn't have that, these only spawned after i scanned the Data Terminal. But if you flush out the sentinels beforehand, you don't have to deal with them while activating the pillars, or at least not for the outside ones. That's just my experience with them.
CMDR Exigeous, thank you for another wonderful tutorial video! For us "casual players" that don't have the time to commit to serious exploration and puzzle grinding you are a true hero and saint! Just one question, since you don't have the system listed below, as you refer to it in this video, is it a safe presumption that the same planet can be used for this weapon as the one you visited in your Guardian Plasma Charger unlock video?
What I would really appreciate is an explanation of the difference between a Ruin, and a Structure and if they give you Weapons and Module blueprints respectively. This seemingly simple but I think essential detail seems to be omitted from every single video/walkthrough that I can find, and the frustration that this causes is immense, because it removes any sort of informed autonomy.
I have experienced a glitch where I cannot get the guardian blueprint. Whenever I drop the ancient relic near the machine, it will not accept it. I have done everything correctly verbatim, I have been troubleshooting for hours and have had no luck. I have charged every pillar and everything that could possibly go wrong. I have even changed the instance and traveled to completely different guardian sites. What should I do?

It really is absurd sometimes. The first time I arrived at the new site I thought it was great. The first time I did the puzzle it was very cool, the second time a bit more so as I could really focus on it. The 16th time - yeah, at that point it fucking sucked. Amazing how quickly something can go from very cool to fucking horrible isn't it?
CMDR Exigeous not really sure if you're being sarcastic or not. What I wanted to say is that for a normal player (if there's such a thing in a ED), this kind of content is so far out of reach and contrived that one really wonders what the hell were they thinking at frontier. TH-cam should not be a normal tool to be able to play a game, but ok I really enjoy your videos, and they help me organize what to do next in my play sessions (given how terrible this game is at doing that). Keep them up.
It's a puzzle gameplay. You either like it or you don't. But when 3.0 hit there was a hint dropped on Galnet on where to go (actually three hints IIRC, they provided at least three system names where the new Guardian ruins were located). Fair enough if you don't like solving puzzles, but some people do.
Also fair's fair, I spent the weekend doing the 'scan 101 obelisks for Guardian Lore' mission for Ram Tah, so when it comes right down to it I do agree that FDev could make this shit a bit more... user friendly.

Me and my squad operate on Xbox, and I was wondering you might go to answer a few questions for me, one is it possible to engineer Guardian Tech on Horizons or is that only an odyssey thing or is that still something that hasn't come out yet? Also I heard there's a module that allows you to equip more than just for experimental weapons and I have not been able to find a source that concretely gives me an answer whether we can get this on Xbox or not? Really want to know cuz me and my squatter just starting to get into the fighting the aliens
Well I'm not sure what you mean - but you do have to HOLD the fire button for a moment to get these to fire, just like a rail gun they have a build up time. Is that what you mean?
What are the best guardian weapons? The turreted plasma chargers any good on a big ship like the Anaconda? Is there any use for the guardian power plant?
Jajalaatmaar from what I've heard guardian power plant gives you just a bit more power than a g5 overcharged power plant at the cost of more weight and worst heat efficency. Plasma chargers and guass cannon seem to be the best weapons for huntin thargoids, but not that effective against human vessels. I've also heard that there is a bug with the way plasma chargers work now and that they're not doing as much damage as they should.
Don't try to do this on Odyssey, the data point is broken and you won't get the weapon data fragment. Tried several times until I changed to Horizons and it's working perfectly there.

Well the fact is these work exactly like a railgun, you hold the trigger for a few seconds (I think 2 but don't quote me) and it fires. The weapon that you hold and fires when you releases is the Plasma Charger NOT this, the gauss cannon. If someone is telling you differently they are absolutely 100% incorrect. So I think you or they are getting confused between the two weapons.
Please let me unlock some Gaurdian Tek. I took 5 months off over my last attempt and the Thargoids are waging all out war on the Bubble with CZs plus Incursions. I have zero Gaurdian stuff and been like three or four times trying 😨

Sentinels is not an issue at all if your DBE is parked nearby and equipped with point defense.

Yep, there are 2 different site layouts and I find this one easier too. The other layout gives the module blueprints where this one is weapon.

Went to the system that I triple checked to make sure was right, scanned each planet, and no guardian site was ever found

The only thing I can think of is maybe you are not successfully scanning it with your data link scanner? Is it bound to the firegroup you are using?

Yep, ran into this today. I think it happens after the timer resets and you have to go back and shoot the pillars again.
Will human AX wpns do for bug hunting, or do you need Guardian wpns?
Human weapons do no damage to interceptors and minimal damage to scouts

Does anyone know, do you need to repeat this process for each cannon you build or can you build as many as you want once the blueprint is unlocked?
Once you unlock a build, say fixed gauss cannons, then you can buy as many as you want. You do need to unlock each size/type however.
