Hi!!! Below is my short Bio
I am a Chief Engineer by profession.
I have been sailing for the last 14 years. Passed out from MERI Kolkata in the year 2008. Joined Seaarland Ship Management as an Engine Cadet, over the course I have sailed in the past with British Petroleum and Anglo-Eastern as well.
With the help of YT Channel Merchant Navy Decoded and the website www.merchantnavydecoded.com, we are trying to make this profession more transparent. All our endeavors are towards promoting good shipping companies, good colleges and sharing updated information about the same.
There are so many myths attached to this profession and so many fraudulent activities operational that sometimes even students with good backgrounds land themselves into bad Shipping Companies. Futures have been destroyed because of lack of proper guidance and this TH-cam channel will try its best to help those who are in need to get into a good shipping company.
Along with proper information, we also aim at glorifying good Shipping Companies, good colleges, so that awareness can be created and deserving candidates do not miss out on an opportunity to join a good college or company.

12:29 noo pilots can select their base airport and then they only operate from that airport. Also salaries depend on roster.. if you bid for more flights then more flying hours and more money

Asa koi rule nhi hota but depend on companies unki pay scale kya hai (6 month ka payment split krke usko 12th month ke payment me convert kar diya jata hai) jisse ki jab ap 6month ghar per rehte ho toh tab apko milti hai wo but yeh har companies me nhi hoti hai.

sir one small correction.. salaries of pilots are not static and they keep on increasing according to their roster so for example if the base pay of a captain is 7 lakhs,not neccesarily he will get that much,if he flies for like 100 hours that month then he will be getting 10+ lakhs a month .. it was a great video and both the professions are great

@@jayneel3137 No whatever salary you are getting as fix pay you will get. If you flew more than 100 hrs/month than you will get extra allowance.

Personally I feel that a commercial pilot is still better if you have the funds. If not then merchant Navy zindabad lol!!
Cpl is not like that rn airlines is hiring typerated and its not 35 lakhs its more than 50 lacks for cpl from abroad. U can earn more than 10 lakhs jst u have to do some extra hours and If u r middle class and don't have 50 lakhs in account rn don't join. To join Go first you have to give them 50lakhs after cpl and typerating. u r gonna end up with spending 1.25cr. If ur parents can't afford accept it and kch aur krlo.
