Didn’t like your second game placement as 8 5 10 gives you best ore and brick and you’ll always get wheat on the way back. Taking all the wheat without ore or a wheat port was a trap imo
Sorry, but this double wheat arguments is just ridiculous. Wheat without ore is pretty much useless. This was about as clear a 8-5-10 first pick as it gets.
26:41 In 1v1 theres definitely validity to popping with the YOP but I still see it similar to the Mono, you want to get more value out of it than trading it for a dev. You basically just traded it for a vp, rather than 2 settles on the 9/10 and either the sheep port or wood port, which you could have done at 26:24. So basically, you paid, 5 resources for a VP rather than increasing your production by at least 11 points, locking them out of the settle on the 9 ore, and increased your buying power. Seems like you need to be getting more value out of those custom cards. Then a couple turns later you use the wood to build roads, which is somewhat valid, but if you were going to build roads with your wood, then you probably wanted the sheep port instead. I think you were just blind to the power of the sheep port in this game. You're on 20 pips of sheep vs only 10 pips of wood and you're trying to make the wood port your flex play. Either way gg's thanks for the vid!

😊 Nice games.
Looking at the history on Colonist, Red had the resources to city twice and settle for the win that turn had they mono'd 3 ore.
Game 3 was sloppy… you were so keen on the wood port when the sheep port was the better expansion on the 9…
@ 32:25 you could have dropped 2 quick settle roads and then you would have won your next turn
I will never understand going wood port over sheep port in the last game
