I’d love CANZUK to be implemented. I’m a Brit but feel that the other three nations aren’t foreign to me as others are, they are countries of my brethren.
I understand your feeling 100%. I think the main opponents to this might be Australians, because their better overall economy and weather might cause too much migration from other countries, which in turn would contribute to an already quite serious housing shortage.
Four countries four opinions four outcomes we are better working together we realise our strength's cooperation , integration and innovation we lead by example we always have and too our American friends learn from our enthusiasm work with the uk more
As everything, the devil's in the details. It could be awesome but it could also turnout problematic if too many supranational rules and regulations are created. Thanks for your feedback!
Rather than CANZUK or even CANZUKUS where domination by one country over another is a concern, consider a union of individual states, similar to the present USA. In this instance the number of states would increase 10+6(7)+2+4+50 = 72 states with an elected head of state. Of course, some states may like to retain a monarch as a figure head, that's up to them. With regard to health care and other benefits, along with gun control these could be decided by individual states. Currently, all the proposed CANZUK nations are subservient to the USA in one way or another. The only way to change that is from within. Also, in coming together in such a union, the population has just increased by 50%, it shouldn't be called the USA anymore!
I think the US is too different from the others to ever have a union at all and even between CANZUK national governments will want to retain a good chunk of sovereignty no matter how aligned they are. Thanks for sharing your idea though!
I see where you're coming from, though I think ideologically and politically Canada and other commonwealth countries share certain features america doesn't, such as a monarch, universal healthcare, more social spending and somewhat higher taxes, a less bipolar political system, a parliamentary government, etc
i am a scottish person!! i interoperate it like Ireland is more post-colonial and that scotland is sadly still living under the rule of westminister. I like this video though thanks for the canzuk representation.
I definitely wouldn't want Australia to "submit" to the UK in the way Scotland or Northern Ireland or Wales are. A EU-like system would be interesting though. Though I'm not a fan of tariffs and intergovernmental bureaucracies. Free trade and movement of people would be awesome though.
CANZUK would save Canada from Trumps bullying. CANZUK would save UK from EU meddling to try and get the UK to rejoin the EU. CANZUK would save Australia and New Zealand from China. It’s a win, win scenario but our leaders are not focusing on this right now but need to start seriously talking about it. Although, Trump would likely oppose it.
I couldn't believe he actually said it when I read the comment. I thought surely it was a meme or a fabricated tweet. Things have been getting crazier by the minute. But yeah, CANZUK would increase leverage from the anglo-world to mediate against excessive US influence both culturally and economically.
He mentions this by saying "I don't mean this in a colonial way" and by union he clearly means like the EU not a real union where some of the countries are subservient to another.

To say Canada is more similar to Australia and the UK than the US doesn’t make sense. Have you ever been to Canada?
have you even watched the video before leaving this hate comment lol,, he says he lived in canada
@@Cool-Abed-Films It's not a hate comment. Canadians have more in common with Americans.

So why does Scotland have a government then?
@@Duncan-Bizkitts Scotland has devolved powers without full fiscal autonomy to put big changes into place. hope this helps

Newsflash: all these countries were part of a British union in the past. Most of them up to WW2 were of British descent

Yeah, more reason for union I guess. Let's see what the future holds
