Wicked cool,,,love the sea colors, can't wait to see the project with the good piece of paper...I look forward to your videos ...you are a star...thanks
Lindsay you are a very talented young lady...and yes these are gorgeous...I used to make pendants years ago using cardboard, sparkle stuff that when sprinkled and using a hot gun made the most magnificent looking jewlery ever. Trying to find it again on google...as it was a friend who showed me. thanks so much for this beautiful u tube ....
You always have great ideas using 'off-the-grid' techniques-low budget for sure! I'm a baby-boomer (seems odd to say now that I'm 65) just 2 yrs into crafting. I've learned more from you than all the others on YT put together except maybe Shannon Green. Glad I found you.
Looking for a paper bead-making tutorial came across this one. Loved it. Lindsay, you get to the point without boring your watchers to death. Upbeat instructions and very thorough. I'll be back.
OK....at first, I thought the wild wet paper with zig zags etc was ..weird. But watching to the end, Lindsay comes out ahead agan!!! Really neat beads...the arts I missed over thee years....applause for Lindsay again!!!!
Love this idea. I think Crafty Come Lately had the right term. Its up-cycling! You do great work. Love watching your videos. You have inspired me to try this (gelli printing too. buts that is a different story. I'll get the hang of it someday). Thanks again!!
I like your method. I like to add a drinking straw core, anything to potentially save some sea life. Method: Glue the paper to a drinking straw then start wrapping it. You can also use the 2 hole coffee stir sticks for smaller beads, the extra hole holds the bead better than a single hole, especially for weaving. When the bead is the desired thickness glue the end in place, apply top coat of choice, then stick the straw and bead in an empty glass or a bowl of sand to dry while working on the next bead. When dried, simply cut the straw close to the edge of the bead and continue using the remainder of the straw until it will no longer hold a bead. Or add all the beads at once, coat them, allow them to dry, then cut.
awsome demonstration, and I agree with you about the measuring for a perfect triangle, I cut all of mine as right triiangles and just compensate when I roll
The FrugalCrafter Lindsay Weirich. I am going to purchase a few things tomorrow, for this project. So pretty! I have to find the video I watched about the size of the knitting needles and the bead tops and bottoms. I am gorging on these wonderful videos. Had to put my husband in the nursing home, so your smiling face and fantastic talents are very uplifting, Thank you so very much, Hugs, Val.
+Valarie Housley hi Val , I can't imagine what that is like but I am glad these videos are giving you a bit of cheer:) hang in there. Big hugs to you too.
paper beads are such a great project to do with kids. For my campers we cover the papers back side with glue stick and then roll around a plastic straw, just trim the straw to length and tada beads without worrying about holes.
I bought a Canson 11 X 15 90 lb. watercolor paper pad at Hobby Lobby not too long ago that will be perfect for making these--I love the fact that you can make any custom color, and gluing and varnishing all in one step is brilliant! Your beads came out absolutely beautiful!
I tried doing this bead project and your tutorial was the best! Not only are you full of life..you give lots of helpful information. I am as well a designer and always trying to find cool things to incorporate! You seem so sweet and alot of fun!!! I'm a fan! Hands Down!! Keep It up!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this, Lindsay. I'm going to use this idea to make beads to embellish my first art quilt! Its theme is freedom and I wanted to focus on the seagull, so this beachy feel is perfect. I love your videos, because as others have said, you make me feel like I really can do it.
Thank you for making these videos! The first one I saw was yesterday. It was the one about teaching art classes. I am teaching my first one this month in the park. It's called 'Connect With Nature Through Art' and your videos are really inspiring. They give me tools to do the art I want without breaking the bank or wasting failed projects. Thank you so, so much!
I keep meaning to make some paper beads but so far it hasn't happened. Love the colours of the ones you just made. Great use for a project you didn't like.
What a fun project. I love the effect when you used the alcohol on the distress watercolors--- that ocean spray mist is awesome. I'm also curious to learn more about using eye shadow as watercolor paints.
What a great idea to use a knitting needle for rolling the beads. I've been using a handmade roller made from a toothpick and so the holes are all really small. Another piece of inspiration is waxing your toothpicks. I'm forever getting beads stuck! Off to find some candles to coat my bead holders... Hugs xox
Thank you so much Lindsay. I am enjoying all of your youtube ideas. I am surprised you haven't mentioned kosher salt for special effectst. You are like a breath of fresh air.....just what I need to keep on creating.
You have the best video in all of youtube bead crafting!. Your fast talking which I love rather then someone talking like a turtle walking. =) Love it all!!
I love it when you get messy as you craft, Lindsay. I really MUST have a go at this, it's a good excuse to finally get hold of some mod podge. I'm keeping an eye out for when you use the background you made at the beginning of the video, especially as there's a slim chance that I may be able to win some stamps as well as enjoy watching you make a card. xx
The Art Sherpa brought me here and I am so glad she did:) You are awesome :) and I can't wait to make my own boho jewelry with my self made beads :) Thank you :)
I just finished making some of these beads beautiful beautiful beautiful. This was the best way to make the beads. Thank you. I subscribed to your channel and can't wait to try more projects.
thank you soo much for this video. i wanted to make some beads for my macrame walldecoration. and this is perfect since i can custumise it however i want.
I love your positive attitude! I always feel more confident after watching you...just knowing I can fix mistakes or improvise in art materials!!!
I love your no-waste attitude.
Wicked cool,,,love the sea colors, can't wait to see the project with the good piece of paper...I look forward to your videos ...you are a star...thanks
Lindsay, I really love 💕 those beads, and your no nonsense way of showing us what to do. Thank you so much xxx Mags
Very beautiful paper beads I ❤️ them all 🥰💐
I really like the colors of the beads. I had to smile when you didn't want to 'waste' the paint on your brush...I am the same way!
