@@ke6mt I imagine a lot of people just see it as a SOTA rig, but I like the idea of a pocket sized QRP radio that takes a minute or less to set up and operate most anywhere.
What my friends and I are looking forward too is seeing someone work stations with the KH1 in one hand and the other hand on the paddles. Yes there is message memory and what not but still, I want to see someone sending CW with the paddles, while standing up and holding it in one hand, keying with the other. /W1GCF
I did just that, right after this was filmed. I was hoping someone would record it, but nobody did. I made a contact with a SOTA station, while standing there at the table outside the hotel. I think we'll probably see some video of field operation soon!
As much as it fills a niche market( left handed too) am sticking with my KX2, it may take alittle time to set up, it’s a damn good shack in a box, it’s has its quirks, no water falls, it does what it say on the tin as they say. Am more than happy with it.😉.
I was pleased to see how easy it is to remove the battery…no fumbling with those pesky screws. A lot of thought process on design. Very very nice.
Yeah, incredibly easy! And no need to take it out since it has the charger built-in. But yeah it comes apart super easily if you want to fast charge.

Perfect Disneyland rig to alleviate the boredom during a lull. “it’s just a radio” and looks like just an FM/AM receiver.
Rex coming through with the in-depth demo. Thanks!
great tnx i already ordered one

Thanks for sharing this Rex, looks like a cool little radio!
great hearing it straight from the guy who designed it !!!
Great rig.
cool little radio!
I couldn’t figure out why I don’t need one . . . ordered !
It’s hard to resist!
It just sounds better and better wow and I love my KX2 so lets see.
rubber band would make extracting the counterpoise much faster.
What about the left handed OM? 🤔
The flip cover can switch sides for left-handed ops!

Shame it doesn't do SSB. Deal breaker for me.
Someone mentioned somewhere, that Wayne said this is the first of a product line…
Am left handed, is there a left handed version?
Yes! The cover switches around to accommodate both right and left-handed people.
