So much in this video to love! The story of Carl Thomas auditioning with the Rifle Rangers march was a delight. I especially liked the statement, ... "in Lenoir all band members are required to play their music upside down." The list of magazines and newspapers that had written about the Lenoir band made me realize how truly Lenoir deserved the reputation for being nationally recognized in addition to all the world leaders that had sent letters to the band. And then Doug you finished with one of my favorite concert pieces, American Overture. Wow!

Reading those incredible list of national magazines where Band was mentioned or had articles written, made me realize that Harper was writing and submitting hundreds of articles all over the nation. The incredible list of letters, meant that he was personally writing each of those individuals all over the world, so he could build his wonderful scrapbooks. Who wrote the excellent program notes in each of the concerts? Captain Harper?
