You straight up feel everything you need to feel from her voice, nothing more nothing less. Pure artistry in the delivery of emotions. I read a very nice comment under this video, i do not remember who wrote it but he said something like this: "Some people wonder how Diana Ankudinova sings, well she opens your chest, she takes your frozen heart in her hands, she the proceeds to massage it gently and after you heart is soft and warm she places it back carefully, that is how Diana Ankudinova sings."
Good to see you again, Kostas, even if the occasion in this case is solemn. That is a lovely way of describing her singing. In this one, what I liked the most is that she felt instinctively just the measure for everything she was doing - nothing overstated, nothing understated. That is very hard to do in a calculated manner - one has to feel it and obviously, she does.
I think, for me at least, if I am restricted to one word to describe a Diana Ankudinova performances (and such words always seem inadequate), is "mesmerizing". As I have heard it said about her, and experienced many times, she creates worlds and transports you into them while she is performing.
I do agree with you that this is an absolute masterpiece of a performance. Truth be told, I did not feel catharsis, more like an overwhelming sadness that permeated the theater as well. Then again, my notion of catharsis is usually a more violent burst of primarily repressed emotions. In that sense catharsis is a tad bit harder to achieve.

I, very much, appreciated that you actually heard the correct pronunciation of Diana's name. That is so rare that it is nearly nonexistent. Nearly always, when her name is spoken, the "reactors" are somehow unable to hear it. Thanks!
You are so welcome. This is a not an occasion to react to lightly and respect needs to be paid. Thank you for another sensitive reaction. Imho Diana really shows her artistic maturity in this performance. Not only in the excellent phrasing and the genuine feeling in her voice, but especially for me in her demeanor on stage. Even though she is essential in conveying the proper sentiment to the occasion, she doesn't draw attention to herself but somehow places herself secondary to those who are being paid tribute to. It would be very easy for a singer to over-sentimentalize the song. And something subtle: notice where she gazes when she's not singing.

Magnificent emotional performance of the song by Diana! And the reaction is excellent and sincere! For Diana and the reaction - like and thank you!
Slightly late to the "party" this time around, but thank you for a beautiful reaction to this performance. Diana is one of my favorite female singers, and for very good reason. She is very good at emoting through her singing, conveying feelings straight to your heart and soul. Not too many contemporary artists that I am aware of can do that, but Diana definitely is one of them. Have a nice weekend, Aleks 🙂 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Well, that is not late, it only came out a few hours ago... Thank you so much, Mr. Shark. So far, we've agreed on all the singers, so no wonder we agree yet again. It's true there aren't too many that good these days, but I am glad there are at least a few, or I'd have nothing to react to. 😉 Kindest regards to Norway and enjoy the weekend as well! ❤❤❤
Thank you for your kindness as well! The more I read the comments following these lovely artists like Diana, the more I think there is so much good in the world, it's just not in the spotlight. Even though I didn't know when reacting that she was the only one, they certainly made the right choice - she did this masterfully and respectfully. ❤
That was a wonderful reaction from the audience, though I assumed it was for the artists who passed away, as they were probably aware (unlike me) why Diana is performing at that particular moment.

Just before the song grandson took an award in place of the composer, who recently died. Then Diana sang his song from another movie, and you saw and heard it all. This ceremony was halted for three years, that's why there are so much people passed away from the previous one.

God didn't just breathe a soul into her, he shared his own with her. I think you know about Diana's fate, about her pain, which she conveys from the stage. Thanks for the reaction!
Thank you so much! I am sorry you had to wait a bit longer. I am trying to keep up, but it's not an easy task. You chose a great name for your daughter, I hope she likes it as much as I do. It doesn't allow for funny nicknames. 😊 I do know the gist of Diana's life story and I am glad she turned all her pain and misfortune from that young age, with the help of her adopted mother, into something beautiful and generous. Along with some of the other young ladies I've reacted to, Diana is restoring my faith into the younger generation - one of the few positive role models in the world today. Hopefully, there will be more like her. One special greeting to your daughter, from another Aleks ❤
@@AleksReacts Good evening, Alex! Thank you for the wonderful response. I am glad that we have coincided, I am also very worried about the new generation. Thank God, my Alex does not let me down, she graduated from the second year with honors, will be a specialist in securities, audit, taxes; now she has found a job for the summer - she helps me. Alex named her after my great-grandmother./ I understand that you have your own affairs, so I complained about your long absence with a smile, as with an old friend. May all of us be well. You're probably already asleep, so good morning!
Not asleep yet and very glad to hear that your Alex is making you happy! That tells a lot about you as well, as children give back what they are given. Sounds like she's most of all been given love and support. I didn't think you complained at all, I was actually very positively surprised that someone wanted to hear specifically my reaction - that's such a huge compliment! Thank you so much for that, both to you and your daughter. To Alex: congratulations and moms are very important, the older you are the more important they become. ❤
@@AleksReacts Good afternoon, Alex! I like your reactions because you are objective, reasonable, intelligent and able to feel with your soul. I feel and understand Diana, because my life has been no less difficult. Yes, the stress in her surname is on the "i"; there is a Russian name AnkudIn, from which the surname comes. By the way, the name Alex in Russian is sometimes replaced with "Shura" in conversation. Stress on the first syllable. So you can share your new knowledge with someone on occasion. In the morning, Alex went to work, and he took a nap for a couple of hours (I'm an owl, I write at night). Excuse me, I have to go. Have a nice day!

Greetings from Scotland! You interpreted this correctly Aleks. This awards ceremony had been postponed for the last 2 years and this tribute was for the industry people who had passed on. Diana was the only singer asked to perform the tribute to them. Quite an honour for Diana and I have to agree, there is nobody better to have asked to perform an emotional song like this. Here is a film for you that will break your understanding of cinema in general. This is our Soviet film about World War II. (I hope you know that there was such a country as the USSR?) This film is a masterpiece. It was filmed by director S. Bondarchuk (He also stars in it). Film with subtitles. th-cam.com/video/xfUlR_nuBb4/w-d-xo.html
Of course I know there was such as country as the USSR. That is the country that lost almost 30 million lives in WWII, more than all the allies combined and the one that stopped the German advancement in part thanks to the strong Russian winter and partly thanks to tactics in the use of that winter. I may not be a historian, but some elementary education is understood. Don't know if I have the strength to watch a WWII or any war movie, but if you can give me something with a less heavy topic, I'll gladly watch it. If not, I'll do my best to watch this one at some point.

But you still take it and look. No matter how difficult it may be for you. Not right away, gradually.
Of course, I have heard of Lev Tolstoy! He is one of the great classics. Not hearing of him would be like not being aware the Moon exists. 😊 I have both read Tolstoy's War and Peace and seen this film a long time ago, along with its Hollywood counterpart with Audrey Hepburn. I did not watch other versions - did not like some of them. The same is true of Anna Karenina again along with its Western version with Vivien Leigh. My trouble with European movies is that they are usually less pleasant to watch because of the darker setting vs. the more colorful one of the American cinematography. I understand why it is so, and I very much understand that it is more realistic, but reality is realistic. Books can be darker, movies I prefer to watch when they end well. One of the Russian movies I kind of liked even though it was not a happy ending, was Gypsies Are Found Near Heaven/Табор уходит в небо, mainly for the musical parts of it. I'll have to find a happy Russian movie to watch, even if it is not a masterpiece. One that won't make me cry. 😉
Greetings to Argentina! Thank you so much for such kind words. I will add this to my list, but I can't promise it will be any time soon. I try to add a singer or two every couple of weeks. It might take a while, but I will get to it. Especially, since I'd like to react to something from a new country occasionally. So much beautiful music out there that I have never been lucky enough to hear. The only Spanish singer I know well is Julio Iglesias. I know there are others, but usually only a couple of songs break through to the whole world. ❤

She was ideal for this. Thank you! ❤

Her performance was flawless here.
That was a wonderful reaction from the audience, though I assumed it was for the artists who passed away, as they were probably aware (unlike me) why Diana is performing at that particular moment.

Thank you! That almost sounds like the movie 300.
Yes, it is a tribute in memoriam.
All of the people on the screen are figures from the RussianSoviet film industry who had died since the last NIKA award ceremony.

Thank you so much! I do not think I could possibly react any differently. ❤
Just before the song grandson took an award in place of the composer, who recently died.
Then Diana sang his song from another movie, and you saw and heard it all.
This ceremony was halted for three years, that's why there are so much people passed away from the previous one.
That explains even more why her performance was so perfectly poised. Thank you!
Greetings from Moscow! My daughter and I have been waiting for you. By the way, her name is Alex too. You're right, this song could only be entrusted to Diana.
I do know the gist of Diana's life story and I am glad she turned all her pain and misfortune from that young age, with the help of her adopted mother, into something beautiful and generous.

I see compassion in her face. Perhaps it's her serious expression that makes you see her as older.
Thanks, Diana is gorgeous person and singer
Thank you for watching. I don't know her, so I can't comment on what she's like as a person, but I do respect her and everything she's done so far. Not to mention that she has a very special vocal.
Yes! You should definitely watch some Russian films of the Soviet period! I think there will be those among your viewers who will be able to recommend films that are significant for Russia, which at the same time are understandable to a foreigner
Already done. 🙂

Thank you for your words!!! A very moving occasion and appearance by Diana. I didn't know anyone, but Diana's voice and all the people who stood up brought me closer to the people who have passed on.
Thank you so much for such a sweet comment. ❤
Quite something, and Diana showed all the emotion in her voice and face.
-----
We meet again! Thank you for more details around this, dear "infamous" friend. 😊
@@AleksReacts As always Aleks, you are most welcome! I expect you have had requests to do a reaction to Diana's latest and very different release "Good Girl"? I look forward to your reaction to that! 😊

Do you know the Russian writer Tolstoy? Here is a film for you by the same director S. Bondarchuk (Again, he is starring in this film). Film with subtitles.
th-cam.com/video/V-SAh4jdssA/w-d-xo.html
But you still take it and look. No matter how difficult it may be for you. Not right away, gradually.
Of course, I have heard of Lev Tolstoy! He is one of the great classics. Not hearing of him would be like not being aware the Moon exists. 😊
I have both read Tolstoy's War and Peace and seen this film a long time ago, along with its Hollywood counterpart with Audrey Hepburn.
Yes it's a great movie. It's good that you watched it.

Thank you so much! This was really a tough one to react to - the only possible reaction you have seen. It's hard to put it to words and again, this occasion requires respect and understanding.
