    .10 and .11 splits equate to 600 and ~550rpm, respectively. That’s faster than some open bolt submachine guns. Even Jerry Miculek would be proud of that!

    Be awesome if you could go over your pcc build . It's such s new sport it's hard to know where to start the build lol. But Nordic components just came out with a pcc .... and jp is great but a little to expensive....ideas ??

    I can’t physically pull trigger that fast let alone shoot accurately .... I guess I need to start playing Starcraft.

    Hello Max . I just purchased a JP GRM 15 pro-9mm . I'm currently in A class open for pistol .Just starting PCC. What optics do you use for PCC? What do you recommend . Thanks

    Crazy fast split times on the spinner! What trigger do you have in that build? What triggers do you favor? What planet are you really from?

    You're running that thing like a boss! Any info on your load and bolt weight/spring setup? I've been messing with my newly built AR-9 the last couple weeks, trying to get it cycling fast with minimal dot bounce. Read the conventional wisdom about heavy buffers and machined a solid brass one for a total bolt and buffer weight of 25oz, it shot like garbage. Currently using a sub 1oz buffer for a total weight of 16oz and it's much flatter but still lots of room for improvement. I'm running heavy bullets at minor pf but starting to suspect that lighter might be the way to go. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, obviously you've got this shit figured out.

      Solid sucks you NEED deadblow or some cushioning. I have lots of that, hydraulic buffer plus extra weights bouncing around.
      Setup:
      JP 14.5" Pinned with JP Tactical Comp
      NFA Modular Bolt (17oz)
      Kynshot Hydraulic AR-10 Rifle Buffer with 2.2oz extra weights on it (9.5oz) - those are SCS weights. One tungsten and one stainless. I use a ~1.5" long wavespring from smalley to offset them from the hydraulic piston so they don't fall in and jam it. So it's Kynshot, wavespring, SCS weights, 308 carbine buffer spring.
      BCM A5 buffer tube (0.75" longer than a normal carbine tube)
      0.7" Spacer (cut to length to block travel after hammer reset)
      JP .308 Carbine Spring
      Hiperfire ECL
      Extremely limited travel I block it right after the hammer resets + a little bit. For me it's right about when the bolt passes halfway across the .223 ejection port. Remember that's when the hammer catches on the DISCONNECTOR, NOT the sear. (It's the reset point while holding trigger to rear). Adding the weights to the kynshot slowed down the cycling enough for me to be able to lighten the spring from the JP 308 rifle spring to the 308 carbine spring.
      Load:
      115gr BBI on 4.0gr of Prima V goes 1200fps = 138pf

      Max Leograndis Thanks man! Limiting the bolt travel definitely helped on mine, cut a spacer from polyurathane and also blocked a bit after reset. Guess I'm gonna have to order a hydraulic buffer and duplicate your setup. I was going in the wrong direction with a lightweight setup I guess. Too bad I have to switch to an A5 buffer for the extra length even though most of it will be blocked, wonder if I can trim some length somewhere and make it fit my ace entry stock.

      There is no conventional wisdom for the AR-9 it seems. At least for competition quality ones. Seems all the stuff out there is directed towards pure reliability but the guns still shoot like shit. PCC division is a new thing and everyone is still figuring it out. For all I know this configuration I have now sucks and someone might come out with a much better way to do it next month.

    • @zacksmith9213
      @zacksmith9213 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Max Leograndis Agreed. I never thought I would be trying to make a closed bolt blowback into a race gun. PCC sure is driving inovation. Right after I first shot my AR-9 I said screw this and spent a weekend making a direct inpingement 9mm upper to work with the NFA lower. Ended up only running with max charges of HS-6 which dented steel targets out of the long barrel and still not reliable to trust in a 200 round match. Maybe someone alot smarter with more time on their hands will figure out a good DI upper. Until then it's blowback for me.

      BTW I run my stock full out on the A5 tube. There is a noticable different in recoil control between the 6th and 7th positions. Having a longer LOP on a rifle is super super stable.
      Also, this setup resets stupid early for me because of the bolt+hiperfire combo. If you're using any other bolt or trigger it's likely you'll need most of the extra 3/4" of the A5 while I only needed about a quarter's width of it. And they're only $45 on BCM's site.
      Alternatively you can make a longer spacer and run it with an A2 length tube. Not sure what tube is under your ACE, haven't used those myself.

    What distance do you zero at for USPSA? Curious.

      Something like 22, I don't really know. I usually zero at 75 for matches with actual range

    Hi Max, I just installed a Hiperfire ECL in my MPX. The fastest split I’ve managed to do was a .09 but I cannot go that fast consistently. Just wanted to ask, do you pull with the pad of your finger or the joint? Also, is your trigger set to 2.5# or 3.5#? Thanks!

    • @Maxamundi
      @Maxamundi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      2.5lbs, I use the pad of my finger on the shoe. .09 is as fast as you'll ever need. Most of my fast splits in matches are about .12 - .14 and I'm perfectly happy with those.

    • @shootinbruin3614
      @shootinbruin3614 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maxamundi gotcha. I’m getting about .14-.15 splits on the clock on the closer targets. If I try to go any faster I have a tendency to trigger freeze. The trigger return spring is a little weaker than I’d like, but I don’t think it’s swappable so I just have to acclimate to it I suppose.
      If you don’t mind me asking, since switching to the Limcat have to changed your buffer setup from the Kynshot / SCS combo you described to Zack Smith in another comment here? Also, I know that you prefer lighter buffer springs with .223 gas guns since you can combine them with really light carriers. With the heavy bolts of blowback 9mms, what kind of spring do you prefer?

      @@shootinbruin3614 I've been using blitzkrieg HD buffer with .223 carbine recoil spring and bolt weight removed with a soft 115gr 133pf load with GM3, Berry's HBRN-TP, and 1.125" oal, andbolt short stroked as much as possible, for quite a while now. That's what I ran in Czech recently and that was the best and most consistent match I've ever shot. I don't think I ever had trigger freeze the whole match, which has been something I always struggled with.

      @shootinbruin3614 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maxamundi your Czech video was the best one yet. Great edit. The shooting didn’t hurt either haha. Congrats on the win!
      Since you remove the weight from the bolt, do you use Blitzkrieg’s PCC buffer weight as your spacer? Or is your load light enough that you can run just the HD buffer and bolt by themselves?
