Thanks for your advice... will try a Minirifle Match next month and was trying to figure out how to move backward when next target on left side.

I personally like moving with the stock above my shooting arm the most. It gives me the most options and creates consistency. This way I'm able to 1) shoulder the gun extremely fast again, since I can ride the stock over my upper arm and shoulder into my shoulder pocket, and have contact and guidance early on 2) see better what's beneath me, should I have to be extra cautious about where I need to place my feet (faultlines, uneven terrain etc) or be aware of certain terrain/stage elements I might trip over 3) use my left hand on the handguard too to point the muzzle downwards at an agle in very confined spaces (danger of sweeping feet when angle gets too steep) or even pull the carbine completely back over my shoulder with both hands, so that the stock kicks out behind me and the muzzle is almost at my face level (parallel to ground), this way I'm able to clear a very close barricade extremely smooth and fast 4) do reloads up here should I have to 5) easily manipulate doorknobs and other stage elements with lower risk of sweeping my non shooting hand 6) run more naturally (muzzle at an slight angle downwards, not completely parallel to the ground). When running backwards to my weakside, I just drag the carbine one handed behind me, as you would with a pistol. What helped me a great deal to maneuver the carbine one handed with confidence and power, was finding a good pistol grip! For me (large hands) it was the Ergo tactical deluxe. The carbine literally became an extension of my body with this grip. It also helps to balance the carbine by trying to make it not too front heavy.
And another important considerations cosidering movement: 1) make damn sure you hit your last shot bevore taking off (ESPECIALLY if its an activator of some sort) and 2) shoulder and aim the carbine AS you decelerate into a new position to be able to fire the instant the reticle/dot clears the obstruction while still a bit in motion. Waiting for you to reach and stop at your new position to bring the gun up and aim is a great hitfactor-decreaser.

@impactaustria: thanks for sharing your preferred technique. At the end, what really keeps us all honest is the timer. The timer will show whether technique X or Y is better for you :-)

Thank you this sums up good movements with rifle during the course of fire. And I’m the first to comment on a video, ever.

@SunSteven: thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated. You're right as per this video, but @Norman commented on an earlier video :-)

What kind of Ninja tactic did you do at 9:52? Looks useful.
