What metaphors helped you the most to understand and think through difficult subjects?

The most helpful one for me over the years is the metaphor of "seed and soil" and thinking of your consciousness like a garden. There's so much contained right within nature.

    Hi BFT,
I don't know if you remember me, but your videos helped me get a software engineering job at a prestigious company.
I'm very thankful for that and your channel.
Could you upload a video that is specifically aimed at early twenty professionals with a vague goal in mind but don't know how to proceed?
For example how to schedule tasks for the day/week, then actually execute them.
I hope you can help me again, as someone with a very scatterbrained mind I create detailed plans on things like finances and career growth but have trouble executing them.
It's causing me a lot of internal pain.
Generic techniques like Pomodoro are just not helpful.
    Thank you.

Hi, yes I do remember you. Great! I hope you're doing ok.
When you say with a vague goal in mind, are you talking about career goals? Or do you mean you don't know how to tackle a difficult / involved task?

This is interesting and helpful. I'm going to experiment with this process. I hope you make more videos like this. I'd love to see some examples from start to finish like you did with the scissors, and then what the final output is.

More great food for thought. Using metaphors is a great way to make associations. Thank you once again for your great work on these videos. I am and continue to use them as brain-fuel between my own bouts of contemplation and creative explorations and study. 🙂👍To use a metaphor, this video is '' top drawer'' all the way.

Some people, perhaps most people, can't teach. But that doesn't stop them from trying.

I'm half-way through the next one. But it turns out that the final stage of a PhD is not when you have a lot of time to work on new videos. Sorry to make you wait, hopefully after I submitted my thesis I'll have more time again.

Love it, though I understand "narrative" to be the default structure of the mind,
^and thinking in metaphors has always been the first "language" (so to speak), to communicate to self first, as its original catalyst of function
^(categorizing interfacess of life, in the mind, to make sense of the world around it)
^and then doubles as communication with others, 2nd....
^so this is more a returning to healthy design than some high standard beyond what the average person "believes" is required to employ such distinction, from the average current thought process.
^ (which is more akin to identifying as the wave of thought instead of the surfer enjoying the metaphorical ride 🏄‍♂️🎯)

Yes, it's deeply ingrained into our minds. It's more like developing our innate abilities, rather than learning a completely new skill.

@@bf-thinking ☝️ which is liberating to majority audience who categorize such topics as "advanced"....ergo,
^making this distinction as the first impression/introduction for the next wave of ears, is something like an obvious chess move to a Master player ♟️🏆
(Regarding TH-cam views and overall traffic to your channel/sharings 🤗)
