chose upperline as well, lvl 14 (right beforenew patch, now xp is slow lol), love unit as well, didnt go for anticav because most of the time you face footmen in battle, and vs cav i just switch to my pikypiky... like youre vids m8 ... keep i up
@Dr Downtime lol .... got 3 chars .... 2 both with Sp sgts.. 1 with up and 1 with bottum line... killdeath ratio for upper line is 25 MORE then the char i got with bottum line (i like to do that to test things out) lvl 14 on upp line and lvl 15 (just now) on char with bottum line. So i asume its my aggressive playstyle that makes the sp sgts with top line skills shine more, then the bottum line can. and ...@ vulper... spearguards are only slightly more tanky and pack a far lesser punch ...again its all about playstyle ;)
@Dr Downtime YEP OFC in in house/alliance ;) and i got men at arms as well .. .still i like spearsgts better, especially in cities/walls. and the danger of cav charges... well i got 2 good eyes and situational awareness so it isnt that hard to avoifd hits.... like i said its all about playstyle... one type of unit performs better in some players hands then others.

love epic guide for u change the camera setings turn off or on something there use other camera and u wont get stuck in animation of ult in polaxe 99& times after this u ar showing ur back to enemy and cant stun again ur foe. this help me much wiith my poleaxe plus imp shields combo :)
Sort of depends if the archers are pretty grouped together then I stick with cover commander as you'll do more damage quicker. If the a very dispersed then it can be a good idea to get your guys to spread out with an attack command

Yeah they sort of have different roles much better damage with spear sarg but better defense with imperials. If I has to pick one (and I own both) i'd go spear sarg for day to day sieges as they are more fun

hey evo loz i have a question im a glaive user but i have the feeling compared to other classes the glaive is weak(or i suck lol) its pretty slow im lvl 70 and got the Bladestorm skill now but it feels pretty weak my weapon is purple tho
Generally speaking he Glaive isn't to bad in the current game set up, its not the strongest but it's not to bad, but it can be pretty hard to get the hang of this game. Generally speaking Flying Reaper is the better ultimate to use (+it got a small buff in this patch!)
Glaive generally is very strong but mostly effective in certain situations and one of them is knocking down Spear Sergeants while you charge them with something so they don't deal any dmg back while dying. Also it's not a Hero-vs-Hero class but great at killing units, Heavy Armour helps a lot.

Looks very useful if you are a melee character. I play longbow, was thinking of getting them but they won't be following me around like that. Should I get the Imperial spear shields instead? Or does it not matter?
I've actually got an imperial spear guards video coming out later this week. But in short you trade higher damage with spear sergeants for better defense with imperial spears. I think both kind of work better with melee in a way but if you want a unit that wll survive longer, you can pull into for safety etc then perhaps imperial spear guards are the way to go
There isn't as much one great way to defeat them as they are a really decent all around unit but most cav charges from mid to high tier can will flatten them, if you can get a bit of stun or knockdown then a prefecture guard unit on cover commander and drill mode will overpower them. Pike militia and halberdiers will also be effective
just unlocked mine. But with xp changes I don't know if ill ever get them up high enough to be great. Can you maybe do a video talking about the best ways to earn xp for units now with the newest changes from the last patch?
do siege or training map and use them in last second/points of the game ... so NO losses and a good portion of xp, in a few days (with new xp rules) you can get em to lvl 7 easy
Spear Sergeants start to shine once you get that Cavalry stun ability. But good luck getting them to lvl14 at current rate of XP. I see you didn't experience the passing thru enemies bug in this game - you can order your units to form up behind enemy shield wall and backstab them instantly XD

I loooove spear sergeants. I've recently been getting 6-8 Hero kills a game with them...

@Dr Downtime Exactly! If you don't care about the cav stun just go for Spear Guards, they are way more tanky.

how do yo get the banners to show up? I have mine equipped but they do not show at all.
Good question, I'm not actually sure. I'll have to check to see if my banners are still showing up ingame now :)

Why not both? Spear Sergeants deal more dmg and can stop cav, while spear guards are just tanky AF. Just different purpose.

you trade betwen 200-100 damage for defensive capabilities strong enough to tank 5 heroes bashing them for 2 minutes straight

I like how when you spear sergeants you get chucked into higher level servers and can’t get kills with anything other than your spear sergeants

Yeah i'm not a huge fan of the XP changes, the first 5 or 6 levels are quite fast but after that it gets super super slow :(
spear seargents are so dominant now..
i see all those units carrying banners, when i equip banners it doesnt do the same, why?
There is an option in the settings to show unit flag :)
Now patches spear sergeant skill have brace weapon stun enemy, is it worth? What does it mean brace weapon? Is it when we're in any formation?

Yeah i've heard the crossbow's have been massivily improved! Yeah the unit XP situation isn't a lot of fun, pretty annoyingly slow
