From a massive majority in 2019 to a party in smouldering ruins in less than 3 years. That takes some monumental corruption, incompetence or likely both.
It's not incompetence, their interests, are not the same as ours. People don't understand that the government are not failing, they simply serve the rich upper class, not the working class, so to their ends, they are succeeding.
I can only imagine how disappointed a lot of people will be when they vote for Labour and they realize *_they're the same party._* Most people never learn from their mistakes. I bet that there's people watching this that are very upset about the state of the economy, but who were also banging their pots for the NHS and were giving angry looks to people who didn't wear a mask. How many of you are up to date with your shots?
I didn't know that bit about Rishi Sunak having twice as much money as the King. Kinda makes republicans look a bit like being unable to see the forest for trees. I agree that the monarchy needs serious change, but the number one issue is the sheer degree to which politics has been captured by financial/business interests since the 1980s.
@lewis571 True, although he also brings in about 65.7 billion pounds to the economy if you include things like tourism, royal patronage and popular culture, so there is that. Like I said, it's gotta change, but I'm not half as bothered by it as I am by guys like Elon Musk - billionaires who have all of the inherited privilege of a monarch, but none of the responsibility or constitutional constraint.
@@biggiouschinnus7489 personally I think Tourism would probably benefit more with out a Monarchy, most people don't come to the UK because of there being a current Monarchy it's either, for the History itself, tracing there heritage, natural scenery (Caingorms or Lake District) or for Music and cultural events. Without an active Monarchy we could sell more tours to all the Royal Estates taking in more tourism money into the UK.
@@Luciry123 Doubtful - the royal connection is the reason an awful lot of people go to these places in the first place. Without them, it's just a big and rather drafty house with dodgy plumbing. Other countries have got far more dramatic scenery than we have, too. As for history and heritage? Well, the monarchy is fundamentally tied up with that. Britain as we know it owes its existence to a centralising, unifying monarchy that triumphed over the competing interests of regional warlords. Getting rid of the monarchy would require either massively rewriting that historical narrative, or simply disowning it completely. The same goes for the entertainment and music industry - many British actors and singers might be self-proclaimed republicans, but they all happily work in organisations that have Royal patronage, and star in TV shows that trade off the monarchy's brand, like Victoria and The Crown. I oppose getting rid of the monarchy, for the same reason I opposed Brexit - just as many Brexiters were ignorant about how integral the EU truly was to Britain's economy, strategic defence and international standing, I think many republicans are ignorant about just how embedded the monarchy is into the economy, political system/culture, history, and society at large. Getting rid of something like isn't just a cosmetic change - it'd be the most radical constitutional change Britain has faced since the 17th century. Changes like that simply cannot happen without resulting in political instability and division.
@biggiouschinnus7489 Without an active royal family though, people would still visit these palaces, France and Russia doesn't have a Monarchy but Versailles and the Winter Palace (pre Ukraine war) get a lot of tourism arguably more than most UK palaces do now. Historically speaking we don't need to rewrite our history for us to abolish it. We can accept the arguably outdated idea of a Monarch given the Divine right of rule from the Christian God in a country that is only 47% Christian. As for music events such as The Royal Veriety show or Edinburgh Tattoo they can easily be turned into charity shows like Red Nose Day and Children in Need. Overall I personally think a better idea would be to slim down the Monarchy and have them for just ceremonial purposes but at little to no cost to the Tax Payers such as Japan and Sweedens with the Royal family of Japan costing them only £1.4 Million and Swedens costing only £11.5 million compared to the Windors costing us £86m-£127m
That is Matt Hancock. Who was the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care during the great UK Covid pandemic. Basically one of the _elites_ who was calling for forever lockdowns next to Boris Johnson who was PM at the time. That picture you saw there was a picture from some leaked CCTV footage that maybe a member of the security team or random civil servant leaked of Matt Hancock cheating on his wife (who was at home looking after the kids) with his secretary/PA who was the woman in the picture that Matt Handcock is embracing, snogging and having a bit of a grabby with. You can google 'Matt Hancock Cheating with Secretary' for more information.

The crown which he is head of is worth billions if you factor in the lands he owns
