Talking about pain and scars, here is a quote from Rose Kennedy:
"It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone."

    • @Stevek552

Absolutely right, there is what I like to call `blue pain`.. exactly what you have described and at some point.. they can be accommodated and understood. Life is easier then.

    • @tulipsxw2
      @tulipsxw2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Absolutely. Sometimes when I'm lost in thought and revisit those old wounds, I can still feel the pain in them. Although, I have grown to be a much stronger person, it's the lesson in the pain that kept me moving forward and that's how I know they are truly never healed. I have just learned how to live with them and protect them.

London Grammar should compose a film soundtrack. They are such geniuses at building atmosphere and sound design that I believe many of their songs would have similar power even with the lyrics removed. Their emotionally honest, confrontational-yet-not-antagonistic tracks often convey raw pain but rarely imply despair, because there's a sense of a healing and maturation taking place, guided by an angelic voice and ethereal synths that hold you together just when you feel like breaking.

    • @awaiszafar9579
      @awaiszafar9579 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

It can imply despair and hope both, depends on the way you choose to see it, Depends on how you want it to be , Mindset! that’s what stoics believed and taught us. I don’t know whether im clear enough or not.

I’m here because of “The Split” What a phenomenal programme. With phenomenal messages. This one being my favourite:
“The myriad of tiny moments that make up a life. Take care of them. Hold them gently in your hands. Remind yourself that nothing is promised. That this little life of ours is less about what we’ve earned & gathered and more who we’ve loved and who we leave behind” 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

    • @GIChow
      @GIChow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Came here the same way and love that quote too.
Spoiler alert for me since not far enough through the series yet (only on Series 1, Episode 2) but inspired me to keep watching!
Funny thing is I find the music very uplifting but the lyrics seem to be about a feeling of bitterness following a relationship upset. Maybe it's the John Hopkins production or the influence of different band members, tho I like the "My darkest friend" which suggests to me some cognitive resolution following the initial upset feelings so maybe it's about acknowledging that there is pain but also learning and things will be ok in the end.
Anyway just listened to this at least 5 times on repeat :-)

Love, what did you do to me?
My only hope is to let life stretch out before me
And break me on this lonely road
I'm made of many things, but I'm not what you are made of
Only now do I see the big picture
But I swear that these scars are fine
Only you could have hurt me in this perfect way tonight
I might be blind, but you've told me the difference
Between mistakes and what you just meant for me
Don't say you ever loved me
    Don't say you ever cared
    My darkest friend
    Words
    Have you forgotten
All the lies you left there, so fresh
    Turning old in the air
And now, you have no weapons
You can try to get close to those I love
Do you really think they don't know what you're made of?
Only now do I see the big picture
But I swear that these scars are fine
Only you could have hurt me in this perfect way tonight

Love, what did you do to me?
My only hope is to let life stretch out before me
And break me on this lonely road
I'm made of many things, but I'm not what you are made of
    [Chorus]
Only now do I see the big picture
But I swear that these scars are fine
Only you could've hurt me in this perfect way tonight
I might be blind, but you've told me the difference
Between mistakes and what you just meant for me
    [Post-Chorus]
Don't say you ever loved me
    Don't say you ever cared
    My darkest friend was
    [Verse 2]
Have you forgotten all the lies you left there so fresh
    Turning old in the air
And now, you have no weapons
You can try to get close to those I love
Do you really think they don't know what you're made of
Only now do I see the big picture
But I swear that these scars are fine
Only you could've hurt me in this perfect way tonight
I might be blind, but you've told me the difference
Between mistakes and what you just meant for me

      Amor, ¿qué me hiciste?
Y ahora, tú no tienes armas
      No digas nunca
      Me duele por ti
      Me duele por ti
      No digas nunca
      ooooh
      No digas nunca

Beautiful reply! Here's one.th-cam.com/video/mnMA_fWYjR0/w-d-xo.html Oh--Hannah's deep wisdom is so refreshing. We can't avoid heart break. Unwanted suffering is a daily occurrence. But so is Hope. Greta Thunberg said Hope . . .is Action. Apathy is not activism. Walking through the ashes is! Love . . .beyond hope anddespair . . .Climbing The Third Stair.

You may sometimes think that this modern world is total shit... But then you hear songs like this one, and you realize that it's really not all that bad, but actually it can also be really beautiful too!... The powerfully culminating energy of the part from 2:32 is just amazingly uplifting!

As amazing as this TH-cam video and song is, you haven't even really TRULY heard this song OR this group until you buy a few of their albums on CD, or at the very least a TRUE High Definition/High-Res stream or download, AND then play that on/through a high-end stereo AND speakers OR true High-Resolution, high-end headphones! WHEN/IF you ever do that it is pure bliss! Her voice is like honey slowly dripping into sonic existence somehow. It's simply indescribable.

Just listened to this tune on A State Of Trance Episode 812 for the first time.
I listen to ASOT while working away and not ashamed in the slightest to say that this tune brought me to a physical standstill, literally and figuratively.
Had to take a good 20 minutes to listen on repeat and have a good old cry.
Good tears (I think), it's amazing how a tune can 'touch my soul'.....
This pain in my throat is very real...!
Thank you! It's beautiful on so many levels in so many ways.
    Fucking love Trance music......
