    my worst fears have been realized. I started playing on lichess yesterday and have lost every game I tried. probably 30 games or so total. I don't even understand how people finish hyper bullet games. I run out of time even if I'm just blindly moving pieces as fast as I can. I am really blown away at how bad I am compared to everyone else on there.

      First you have to learn openings and then a lot of people move their queen too early. The best thing is to attack the middle my old chess coach told me that. Attack the middle and bring your knight out once to the middle and attack on the king side with ur pawns

    • @alanmurra2187
      @alanmurra2187 6 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      Try longer and calmer formats. You won't learn much playing bullet games. Good luck! ;)

    A question:
    Here at 10:20 what if white plays 24. Bg5 instead of 24. Bh2 ? does this trap black's Queen?

    • @benhanson4199
      @benhanson4199 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does trap blacks queen, but black can play e3, attacking the queen and blocking it from protecting the bishop. The knight on d5 protects the e3 pawn, so queen cannot recapture, and no matter what white plays his bishop is being taken by the queen (or the queens are being traded, with the black pawn gaining tempo on the rook afterwards).

    • @benhanson4199
      @benhanson4199 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@suiba_7 If bxe3, black plays f4 and traps the bishop. It leads to a series of trades that is less favourable for white than the original position. I honestly don't understand all the lines enough, but I put it into lichess and it says that 24. bh2 is a blunder. You can mess around with it here: lichess.org/analysis/standard/rr3bk1/2p3pp/2p1bq2/N1PnNp2/P2PpB2/7P/1P1Q1PP1/R3R1K1_w_-_-#0

    For answer to your question at 6:40.
    Why not knight on e5? :)

  • @mDevinm
    @mDevinm 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question; at 10:27 ... why wouldn’t Carlsen play knight on e5 to c6 after rook captures knight on a5? This is a double attack on the rook guaranteeing one rook. Still a chess rookie, just a quick question on the calculations behind that and why he didn’t play it?

      Luckily, you have internet.Of course, playing games helps. What helps even more, is studying from your mistakes which is not hard if you play online. Just try to analyze yourself before you fall back to engine. Then, if you have will and time, try analyze games of masters. Channels like this one help a lot, but it would also be a lot of help, if you could do your own analysis. Of course, there will be many mistakes in your analysis at the beginning, but with time you'll improve.

    #agadmator - Agadmator or anyone, at mark 6:45, why does the queen not take pawn c7? It will then also be protecting the night which takes pawn a5. Getting the queen to this square seems good to me, but perhaps I am missing something. Thanks!

    A very nice and interesting game with a lot of tricky positions, I enjoyed every second of this video! This question about taking that pawn of a5 is in my opinion beyond the understanding of an average chess player, I think you have to be at least something like an IM to solve such problems properly.

    Carlsen's "anti-positional" c4-c5 advance reminds me of Lasker's f4-f5 advance against Capablanca at St. Petersburg in 1914. Someone else, commenting on the Lasker-Capa game, opined that Carlsen's style reminded him of Lasker's "no-style" style.

    11:50 why did black not capture Re2 and after white De2 black could play Sc3. He would not only grab the rook, he would also get the e3 pawn by chess and than the d4 paw. Or did i miss sth? :/

    • @faznaz7455
      @faznaz7455 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JBBFans Clan No this is the top suggestion by the engine. But they insist that white is still 2.5 advantage here but other lines give more than 3 because blacks pieces are very disorganised and white's attack is very fast.

    "Maybe they said it because of what happened." Before the engines there was a lot of hindsight in analysis. Entire variations vanished "because of what happened". If we trust the engines and, of course we will check their assessment, there is no need for hindsight and maybe some of those variations can be resuscitated.

    • @andrewpalovcak4072
      @andrewpalovcak4072 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Took me a while too, but if white plays Bg5, black plays e3 attacking the queen and cutting off protection of the bishop. If Bxf6, exd2 attacking the rook and your bishop is still hanging. Bg5 e3 Bxe3 f4 keeps it pretty neutral but your bishop is pretty much locked out of the King's side, so having it on h2 is definitely stronger.
