the way the run quickly - if briefly - turned into a dark aavak run with the "the family doesn't HAVE to know..."
I did like what I saw, and would like to see more.
I would thoroughly enjoy a full series of this game when it gets released.
This game seems interesting but needs a bit more. hoping the full game reaches its potential. kept forgetting the abilities especially the drill to help with the lava or armored blocks. Shield i would actually say put lower. right now the bugs are only going for the core they shoot the shield to get through it, but nothing else gets attacked. Having the shield up top could mean any short range guns lower might not be able to shoot. Having the shield bottom or near bottom the bugs will essentially be in front of the guns for that level.
i do hope to see a lot more upgrade options. Including the ability to add more gun slots and hopefully a way to change the placement. Seeing that 1 and 4 split is annoying to me.

This is such a fun-looking game. Hope you do more and this becomes a series!
Definitely would like to see more of this one. Losing all your miners really scuppered this run. I strongly suspect that fire shooting tile is meant to be a trap to be avoided, not something to actively try and mine out.
This game was alot of fun the people on steam complaining about avoidable hazards was hysterical.
I feel like making several factories at the start would have been really helpful as that would give you the iron income you needed for a lot more buildings. And given that turrets seem to be indestructable and the enemies sit above them and shoot them, it would be better to put the shield ray at the bottom of a turret cluster rather than the top as it maximise the time turrets are firing

In many games like this, economy wins games. So I wholehartedly agree a 2nd factory before the second housing would probably have snowballed. I wonder if the turret placement nodes are random, 'cause that is also a big part of the strategy.
I for one would love seeing more of this!

I was just reccomended a video on drill core. I took one look at the game and immediately knew that art style. And I know it from games you play so I immediately cgecked if you had made a video on it and sure enough you have!.

The shield should be the lowest in a turret block imo. Then the turrets have the best coverage since enemies hover just above the shield.
That certainly makes sense!

Rock and Stone
Anyone played Bio Prototype? I just realized how good that would be with a tower defense spin off. Cluckmech Oasis is really good, but I don't think tower defense roguelikes have reached their full potential yet. Broken Universe was good to, but that's more like an rpg. I want to see a tower defense with really unique towers each game. This looks cool, but the upgrades aren't that crazy and there aren't that many towers it looks like. I want binding of isaac level upgrades.

You get a full refund from buildings you don't want anymore, including upgrade costs IIRC. That can be useful for moving turrets further up the shaft, among other things.
Normally im not someone that enjoys futuristic games, but the sillyness of this is very promising.
I noticed something about the blocks, but it feels spoiler terratory in case im correct so... ill just move that text further down if you do not wish to read it.
Those pulsating blocks with the eyes sticking out are 'spawners' a few times i noticed movement comming from them where a bug dug trough the ground making a crack. So indeed they themselves do not crack open to release the bugs, but they cause more of them to appear. Atleast that is how it looked like.
I'm a simple mind. Aavak builds, I like it!
This game looks excellent. Maybe a future play through on this channel? Hope so :D

Am I wrong, or can you actually dig further sideways than the core drill, then it seals up behind you with the walls?
aavak, one thing i noticed, how come youre always so reluctant to mine tiles that shorten travel time in these kinda games? :P
The game looks quite fun though.
This game reminds me a LOT of Craft the World, down to the big worms that cross your dig zone.

Upgrading the firerate of the Cannons might have been a good, cheap way to increase your staying power.

14:14 - Aavak sees bugs burrowing towards his miners, accidentally does the correct thing by destroying them before they burst out. Wonders what that was.
