Yours is running much faster than it should, considerably more than 60 cycles/sec (Hz).
I adjust mine to 60Hz at half load using a 500W shop light.

Governor is not working, it's mechanical..

@@mmpiforall5913 Yes, the governor is mechanical and controls the rotational speed (RPM of crankshaft = RPM of generator rotor).
Turns out, 3600 RPM is 60Hz frequency. The capacitor size is selected based on rotational speed (frequency) and desired AC voltage. If the rpm are low, both frequency and voltage will be low.
However, frequency is directly proportional to rotational speed and thus at 3600 rpm should be your target frequency. I suggest attaching approximately 50% load (500 Watts) and adjusting the governor speed to 3600 RPM, OR, to 60 Hz frequency, whichever you can accomplish. My multimeter has a frequency counter, so I use that. I also have an optical RPM meter but that's more challenging to set up and thus don't use that.

I lowered it. Was temporarily higher than I wanted.

Remember, it’s a 2-stroke, they will always sound “faster” than a 4-stroke. I would plug a simple $20 tester, (along the lines of a Kil-A-Watt) meter into the outlet, then plug your tool into the tester. That allows you to see the Hz , V & amps. If your running a heat gun, or any resistance item, it doesn’t matter. If it’s something with a motor, they don’t like lowered Hz.

@@edwardhill6945 A kill-a-watt would be a great choice. I'd use that along with a resistive load such as an incandescent shop light(s) around 1/2 the generator capacity while adjusting the governor for 60Hz. Normally, I use my oscilloscope or frequency counter.
Series-wound brushed motors run just fine on any frequency this generator is capable of, all the way down to and including, DC.

nice video... I have 2 TG1200 2-cycle 1000w generators and I neglected them for a year and a half. When I went to start them I was able to get 1 to start by cleaning out the port with a wire and squirting some starting fluid in the carburetor. But the second one wouldn't start at all. After fiddling with it for 3 hours, I poured 2 ounces of mechanic in a bottle into the gas tank (with 1/2 tank of fresh ethanol free gas) and let it sit overnight. The next day I tried to start it and it started on the 2nd pull.
I had the same experience with my 4-stroke snowblower that I had left gas in by accident for 9 months. The mechanic in a bottle worked on that as well.
I have no personal or business interest in mechanic in a bottle, but wanted to pass this along.

When you've had that a few months and it's won't start, try a new or known good used spark plug and a shot of carburetor cleaner into the carb to get it started. Use only 100% gas and drain the carb and tank to store it. Thanks for the candle wax on the starter rope tip ! I've fixing small engines for years and never heard that one.

Roscoe Someone starts evertime. No problems. Had it for a long time. My plug doesn't foul. I keep the idle jet clean!

@@TheOriginalBorne2Build don't use blend gasoline or gasohol with it. Little petrol engines whether it's 2 or 4 stroke, These engines like pure gasoline like unleaded 93.

You should turn the fuel OFF first, then let it run the carb dry. That will save much grief from old fuel, especially fuel with ethanol.
