I really dislike cores because they feel inauthentic as hell. they look way more like dressing up in a costume than exploring fashion and figuring out what makes your style yours idk if that makes sense
While I’m glad that ballet flats are making a comeback, I will say that I really hate the mesh ballet flat trend. I just don’t find them cute or practical (like, how do your feet not get filthy, especially if you live in a city?). I’m really liking the trend of festive flats instead of heels though. On a side note, your hair looks so good in this video! The curtain bangs and half up/half down style really suits you.
Okay maybe this is a bad take but I think that when barrel jeans were first trending we were seeing them on skinnier bodies because that is the body type that we are more likely to see in fashion, but barrel jeans are a style that is so flattering on curvier bodies. I also often saw them styled in a very exaggerated way. I think this convinced a lot of people they were ugly. Obviously everyone can wear what they want and feel comfortable in, but I think barrel jeans are gaining popularity and around to stay because curvier women are finding them and loving them. As someone with wider hips, I bought a pair this year and I love them so much even though when I first saw barrel jeans I thought they were so ugly. And despite how divided people sometimes seem about them on the internet, I’ve never gotten so many compliments on a pair of jeans in my life!
I waited months to buy barrel jeans. Then I found a pair thrifting that were made by free people... I got them in black when they restocked and they are my two favorite pairs of pants. Coming from someone who is under 5'0 and curvier, they are soooo worth it
I am probably one of the only people who love my mesh ballet/mary jane flats. And because the plastic mesh has made these shoes the longest lasting work shoes ive owned. I work an office job and I sit on my feet (always have) and they have lasted the longest. Vinyl, faux leather and suade all have rubbed off. I also wear socks with them and because the shoes are black and the mesh holes are small, you can barely tell they are "see through." I don't think I paid more than $30 for them either
So this jelly plastic shoes have been in Pakistan for years and they are cheap and considered ugly. It's interesting to see how the trend market takes cheap and ugly thing, hype them up and slap a high price tag on it and westren people kinda eat it up.
It also kind of makes me wonder how many of those people would still buy them if they cost $20. I feel like it’s more about the prestige of having the new “it” luxury item.
Barrel jeans will most definitely not be sticking around lol I think they're a vibe and fun for now but they look like oompa loompa legs and they will most definitely be regretted
They look like the wearer is bowl-legged. They are not flattering and will not stand the test of time, more like they will end up in a short time in the “What were we thinking?” category.
I hate that it needs to be trendy to find a certain item. I have very narrow hips/ long torso so wide leg were always my go-to jeans style and I loved when they started trending and now that skinny jeans are coming back I’m waiting for the sales to replace some older pairs
I think I disagree with the Kanglo hat (I wore my dad's everyday when I was in 6th grade with my over processed bob, so very nostoglic) I think its a cultural thing because I saw it heavy in the AA community style with.....moto boots, fyre boots, or sneakers. It's a look, a moment, a vibe.
@ in person it gives black power movement/uncle vibes or at least that’s what it engines for me. It’s what I grew up around that and black cowboys. So those looks will always been near and dear to me lol
It's deeply funny to me that the brat era/drug use aesthetic was supposed to be huge (y2k! wooo right?) but it's only deeply lame millenials that got excited about it and younger people all look 'old' to the millenial eye. Flopped like an industry plant.

I wore “jelly shoes” in the ‘80s and they chewed up my feet and spit them out!!! DO NOT DO IT!!!

my new fave channel omg
i love micro mini shorts. however, as someone who also lives in nyc, I think they can pose a risk for safety.
barrel jeans are genuinely disturbing!?? PLEASE NOOOOOOO
Can’t stop won’t stop 😎
They’re my favorite jeans of all time

I honestly sold all my 90s/00s ballet flats this year as I can not stand to wear them 😅

yeah 2025 will be the year of young adult life😚, also less consumerism and being basic.
You know you’re old when you hear brat and think Bratz. Like the dolls from the early 2000’s. 🙃

I love that!! Yeah you’re so right- I’ve really only seen it styled in a very odd hyper-trendy tik tok way

It's interesting because I have the Kangol hat from when it trended in 2019/2020. Had no idea it trended this year??
Late summer/fall was your time to shine!!
Liked before I even watched. I just know. ❤
