Used to be a paid subscriber of TSG system for a couple of years. This move is truely a game changer for me. I hit 240m straight shot with 3 wood today. Many thanks, Clay.
Clay, following your videos has definitely improved my swing. You have the ability to show and explain the swing in a way that very few do. Wish you all the best.
Started out great on the driving range yesterday, hitting my 6 iron pretty good for me. Took a little break and went to swinging again. And felt like I completely lost how to swing. I started pulling every shot, and slicing it over to the 10 tee box when people were on it. I feel like this video will help next driving range trip. Always seem to post a new video on what is plaguing me lol. Thanks!
Keeping the left arm off the chest and moving into it in the transition is one of the few tips I've not heard before in 50+ years of playing golf, it works too. 15 yard pulls gone to 15 yard draws. 👍
I added the "piston" action of my legs from another one of your videos (to prevent sliding) and wow, my irons were pure and went much further! Thank you for this video
Love your videos Clay! I've been in a bit of a slump, but I'm getting back on track thanks to you!! And you somehow always manage to cover topics that I started to work on lol Again, thank you so much🙂
Another great video thanks. When you are turning into your left arm how do your hands feel? To me it feels like there is a brief moment when they are almost still and if anything moving away from the target while my body moves forward. This is the point when I try to do the "move". Is this the right?
I have a horrible slide on the down swing which stalls my rotation. Then comes the dreaded flip. Will this drill help to get the rotation started earlier which in turn will help get my lead leg extending sooner to clear my hips? Seems like it will with this simple trigger.
Eureka moment. My left arm always too far across my chest. Gets stuck and I have to throw the club out. Don’t move arm across chest to finish backswing, but move chest away from arm to start downswing.
I think you should still be able to get in a good position for impact. Try just dropping your arms like you would swing an axe when you start the downswing. Obviously you only need to go so far down and then turn. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor
So mostly the golf swing is the same as a baseball swing, but on a different plane? That's what I got out of this video. Great videos by the way, you seem to say it so I can usually understand it.
Lifting your lead heel to promote more hip turn during backswing and helping to shift the weight back to the lead side when it goes back down is fine. Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor
Hey, thanks for the interest but Clay doesn't offer private lessons. He focuses all of his time on making videos and running the business. This allows him to help as many people as possible. Robin, our Director of Instruction, does private lessons in the Orlando, FL area. If interested then follow this link: topspeedgolf.com/in-person-lessons-with-robin-rosado/. Play well! Is this why some pros lift their left foot slightly in the backswing? If only my left side didn't have nerve damage, might make it easier lol, I seem to struggle with this quite a bit.
The lifting of the lead foot helps to free up the hips for more turn. It also promotes the weight shift back to the lead side as the foot goes back down. Sorry to hear about your ailments. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor
@@TopSpeedGolf cheers! They should be better soon I hope, been doing a lot of physical therapy and golf which has helped immensely. Bombed a 295 yd drive the other day so I can't be too bad :)
that makes sense... Actually I have been following your posts and different lessons about proper swing and it changed a lot my stroke for better result. I have one question, how do you stop hitting ball too high?
Hands have got to be in front of ball on impact. That’s the tennis racket drill clay talks about. Bow the left wrist and get the right wrist back. I’ve been following Clay for 4 years now and it plain out works. Easiest way I’ve found do get my hands in front was switching to a stronger grip. I switched from a neutral grip. You’ll be able to control the face better and you can really drive the face into the ball
Without seeing a swing it's difficult to assess what may be going on, but the other comments here have good suggestions. Try to get more shaft lean and the hands in front of the ball at impact. Best of luck! Nate | TSG Instructor
@@TopSpeedGolf thank you so much for your reply.... yes I did try above suggestions and they somewhat changed how my balls fly .... it also adds 8-10 yards distance.
The THING nobody is teaching really is .... keep hands/grip LOW at setup ... these "slots" and "shallow" stuff happens all natural if u figure that out... shaft lean become an auto setup AND impact... keep ur hands close to ur body and loooow = Ernie Els has this perfect as always .... works without thinking much at all ;))))
Clay really love the way you teach - very descriptive and detailed however validating your teaching with a real time golf swing is pretty much useless. Would you mind a super slow motion swing instead? Thanks for your help!

My pleasure! Thanks for your support.
Watched this video last night, today I'm hitting all my clubs 20 yards further. Thanks for helping us out 👍
Nice work! Keep it up.

Great to hear! Thanks for the kind words.
Such a good video, an absolute game changer. Thanks Clay, best golf instructor on the internet by far.

Wow, excellent trigger sequence. Will make sure to try it next time at the range.
Best of luck!
Tremendous explanation. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video Clay. Your content is incredible. Anyone that follows you and applies this info and drills hard it will be better in no time!
I appreciate that!

Great video Clay, been struggling with a simple swing thought to start the transition into the down swing. Thank you.
My pleasure!
This is so true.. i’m relatively new to golf and this move has been a game-changer for me.
Keep up the good work!
Like the new setup Clay.
Thanks!
Love your videos Clay!

Love your golf club over there!
Thanks!
Another excellent video. Great work
Glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much Nate! I’ll be taking this to the range ASAP. Need to get this fixed. So frustrating!
Is it time to reshoot the move section of TSG to incorporate some of the ideas in this video?
We'll take that into consideration. Thanks for bringing up the question. Play well!

If I can't externally rotate my trail arm from injury, am I hosed to be able to perform this move?

Other than you have wrist extension in your lead arm with a baseball swing, they're very similar. Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor
Is there any reason why I shouldn’t consider taking a small step with my lead foot as a permanent method to incorporate into my golf swing?
Lifting your lead heel to promote more hip turn during backswing and helping to shift the weight back to the lead side when it goes back down is fine. Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor
How does this move live with the squat move to start the downswing?
The squat move and the weight shift go hand-in-hand. Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor
Do you do in person lesson?? If so where are you located??

I agree. Also, my swing is gravity fed until impact. No real force applied until the club head is right on the ball.

Was that a gigantic sledge hammer leaning against your bag at that tee box?! lol!
Haha! 😂
Easiest way? Leadbetter's "A" Swing and build it from there for more speed.
A-swing made me consistent.
Thanks for sharing!
Maybe you need to review left from right.......LOL
swing, and then show this part of the swing at very slow speed. as it is, can not see what you are demonstrating
