  • So I had a couple good weeks of training untl crashing my bike during my long ride.
    This is the main reason why I do so much indoor training, ironically thats probably the reason why I didnt have the bike handling skills to prevent this crash.

    Recovery week 🤙🏼 unlucky mate, we’ve all been there! I’m really sorry that your modelling career is now in danger though 😢
    I’d love to hear more around your philosophy of the low carb fuelling, but that I want to argue it but I’m interested as to what benefit you believe it provides?

      The main reason is that I just don’t feel like I need a huge amount of carbs while training. Like I just fuel to feel when training and typically don’t end up consuming that much.
      But I do figure that if I can train with low carbs that when it comes to racing with high carbs I should be able to perform much better.
      I do still include a few sessions with full race nutrition and I think I should probably increase the amount of carbs I consume at least on the key sessions to make sure I’m getting in good quality work

      @@lachlanearnshaw it’s interesting to hear that, one of your big races last year I remember you saying something about gut issues or something from going nit fuelling enough?
      My understanding of the subject (around training nutrition) is it’s not necessarily about the feel in that specific session but more so the recovery, injury prevention and ongoing performance outcomes that it affects. Would be interesting to see race performance with the lower fuelling training versus performance after high carb fuelled training 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Should’ve shown the photo in the hospital and it getting stitched up. For context everyone the cut was that deep you could see the bone.

    The back roads are good but not swept often, probably full of glass debris nails screws etc

    Are you using tubeless tires? If not, highly recommend them. You get some free watts from lower rolling resistance but most importantly you have much lower chance of a flat tire. Two blowouts on a single ride is terrible bad luck! Hope you feel better.

      For training I just use clinchers and to be fair this tyre was long overdue to be changed. I’ll change the tyres over now and hopefully far less flats in training.

    hey bro, what are ur thoughts on adding some salt to your powerade? - i dont think it has a sufficient amount unless your sweat rate is really low, i always pop some in mine

    • @lachlanearnshaw
      @lachlanearnshaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have salt capsules that I take during a race but don’t often feel the need in training. Salt sticks I think they are called x

    Buggar. Frustrating given how much you do on the trainer too, hope you heal well mate

    • @lachlanearnshaw
      @lachlanearnshaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah was super close to doing this session on the trainer too. But can’t do all my training indoors. Ironically if I did more outdoor training I might have had the bike handling skills to avoid the crash
