Four-time trial world champion Adam Raga wanted to make some noise to celebrate International Noise Awareness Day, so he swapped his roaring trial bike for an electric bike -- and rode off to the beautiful Valley of Silence in El Bierzo in northern Spain. Why? Because Adam believes living in peace with nature is something to shout about. He really believes that this is the path that technology must follow; to always try and coexist with the environment.

My mother is from this fantastic landscape. I'm a lucky, lucky man, i know. I have a house in this marvellous village (well, my mom really XD). Very of my best vacations are here. It's a true paradise and an autentic back to the past. The church we will see in this video, have an a 1000 years (really), its Mozarab's style. I invite you, all of us, to discover this place. Haha, I didn't even notice him at first, kind of half watching and reading, this was beautifully shot. I wonder how it compares to a conventional bike though, if you can tear it up just as well.
"Silent rider" is referring to this video was shot in the "Valley of Silence" located in the wonderful Bierzo . Hence the electric bike
I reaally like it ! It's great filming, perfect atmosphere and its a good thing, they promote. Less noise and good for our climate ( if they have green energy for charging :) )

Dang that place looks so nice. I love the rest of Europe, in the UK we've ripped apart traditional buildings and so on, those towns look so much nicer. I live in rural north Wales and luckily we still have slate towns and still build slate walls and houses but it's just not the same. :(
Thank you Adum, for sharing some of the best talent and peasfull skills I have seen in yrs,If you llisten closly even an old flat tracker can slightly here the moter on the coner( one weel ride around) I'v bin hit by two cars pedaling( to P.T. in the pool 30 mil's from home).I think this byke and back rds will reduse the chanse of high speed society mishap,please help

This is amazing
the throttle on this bike is unlike any gas bike so yes your very right. you would have to adapt to instant torque on an electric bike but im sure you don't need noise to know when your twisting the throttle.
this video is more about the filming and camera work than the trial bike ^^

Realmente edificante, no sabeis lo que fastidia que andando por el monte te encuentre con estas motos con sus ruidos.
@adamj89 runtime is about 90 min on the track (training) or one charge at a competition. Full charge 90min.
this is a great video but i like the "BBBrrrrêêêttttt BBBrrrrrêêêêêt" of the 2-stroke engine !

I don't know if I'm totally off or not so if anyone could help me with this I'd appreciate it:
Just because the bike, car, quad, etc is electric doesn't mean it's better for the environment, right? It still takes energy to produce the electricity that the bike is taking from the grid in order to run. So even though the bike isn't emitting carbon... isn't the power plant making up for the bikes non-emission motor? This is assuming the power plant burns coal, gas, etc
Am I wrong?

Sherco 280: 3 Minutes 16 Seconds on about 1/100th of a tank of gas
Electric Bike: 1 Month of Shooting and about 400 charge. Artistically speaking, is absolutely beautiful...but come on! Adam Raga riding trials silently?! Half of the fun of seeing those things is the orgasmic noise!
Ok, but if you wanna be eco-friendly, Technology is improving and I applaude you...too bad you can't hear me clapping over my monstrous engine!

Some would say this is a nice thing. I like the noise of gas bikes and now they are much better for me but in some time electric bikes will be much lighter and have probably same power.

think this video is probably the same length as the runtime of the battery on that bike, Batteries are heavy, expensive and take ages to charge..... and where does this power come from? the plug socket, where does that power come from? burning coal?

@v12tommy This is the reality, I just made it happen. Noise was the source that we could not do our favourite sport. We do not need roaring sound to ride a trial bike, we like to have the best possible engine. This is, no doubt, electrical... only hippies use old fashioned gas engines.
